I would prefer a cat than a dog because you don't have to worry too much about looking after them and always having to go outside.

I am a total cat person but i have a strong soft spot for dogs, what can i say, i love animals.

Actually, I prefer catdog.

....how do they poop?
Dangit, beat me to it.

Yeah, and they even have scenes in the show where they're int he bathroom and stuff. lol

(I picked cat btw.)

Dogs. They're active, cute, brave :3 and they don't mind water. Cats chase mice and hate water, which is annoying. Dogs also chase cats, but there aren't that many cats around here.

Woof is cuter than meow :3

Cats. Dogs just drive me insane.:tired:

Cats for sure. I don't know why but they always wanna play with me. xD I'm not joking, they never really leave me alone. If they see me, they'll jump at me and play, haha. They are NOT boring, and very cute.
I don't have any luck with dogs, though. They either bark at me or try to attack me. ;______________; But I still like dogs despite that. ;3

Both, tbh, I don't have a favorite. They're both equal in my eyes, seeing as I'm an animal lover XD

Dogs FTW! Why? Because they rule. Lol, is this discussion becoming more like the movie Cats & Dogs? Thinking of it, I like cats too, but dogs are more worth my attention.

Why I'm a dog lover??? Cos dogs are fun to play, loyal best friends and are excellent detectives of smell and taste. :3

Cats aren't that great to me cos they can accidentally claw or scratch their owners. And there are more stray cats than dogs which just shows how untamed (and rude *pouts*) felines are. I totally am irritated by jokes on dogs like a famous one being about the 'Golden Retriever aiding robbers instead of their owners'. That's just plain nonsense and immaturity. Also many breeds of dogs are very secure about their owners, so obviously if you appear as a stranger to them, they'll be wary and fierce-looking. Any human being would be like that too, don't tell me you kiss the first stranger you see on the road? O.o

I would rather have a dog anytime as a pet cos I don't quite think they're kind of an issue. I mean why be a pet owner when you're not responsible? That goes to show how unprepared you are, seriously. Cats are also very cold, for some breeds I experienced with. And they don't like it if they're not allowed to go outside. Like somebody said, they love sleeping and if I had one as a pet, I'd be frustrated and lonely my whole life as my pet doesn't greet me when I came back from a long exhausting day or waggles its tail when I call its name.

Also, I would like to debate that while cats seem easier to take care, I've worked and trained with animals for a while in my childhood and I've to point out that while dogs shed hair and sometimes defecate at unusual spots (although that goes for SPECIFIC breeds and personalities), cats cough up furballs, rake your furniture and often are active in the night while you're asleep. So tell me honestly, would you rather have a faithful dog that you can expect to clean up in the spots it usually goes or a cat that wanders out at night while your body rests, vomits odd balls of hair, fur and whatnot, and causes you to change your sofas or mattresses quite frequently? I would definitely go with the former. :>

*stretches* Sorry for the tl;dr, but just hear me out, will ya? XD To sum up, DOGS RULEZ!~

Dogs by far. They are more loyal and they like to play with you more.

Hamsters. They're small, adorable (especially the dwarfs!), hilarious, easy to take care of, and can be rather friendly.

Oh. This is between cats and dogs.

As the owner of a cat and a dog, my answer is for both. Though I do have to say that having my own dog is a life-changing experience. I'm way more active with my dog, having to take her for walks or getting her outside so she can run. But on the flip side of that, my cat is wonderful for keeping me company as I read books, sitting on my lap all quiet and calm. Having both just made my life more complete, and I can't imagine having one and not the other.

With a hamster to complete the trio, of course.

You probably haven't run into a lot of indoor cats. Once trained, cats go in the litter box (or even the toilet) which is nicely contained in a small area out of the way. That's just how nature programmed them to be. While dogs go anywhere and don't bury it. Sometimes they even eat it and then proceed to roll around on that dead smelly corpse that only they could find.

I voted before but just wanting to say that due to having never owned a cat, dogs are automatically better in my eyes. Plus they're more adorable! Our dog is ignorant at times so I like to compare him to a cat tho :(

BOTH :D

I just got a new puppy over the weekend, so obviously my family loves dogs. I think they're adorable and loving, and can be a lot of fun to play with. However, I also like cats too. I work at an animal shelter and my job is take care of the baby kittens and I actually prefer that to working with the dogs. Baby kittens are so cute and playful :) and I love how they fit in the palm of your hands.

so yeah, both both both <3 if it were up to me, I would have adopted a baby kitten along with our puppy, but my family hates cats.

I like cats, they're really good snugglers but they can be sooo lazy sometimes. I want a dog to keep me busy during the day and those long summers.

Cats for one reason -- i'm scared of dogs irl. i do not trust them anymore because when i was 5, one pounced me and knocked me over then bit my arm and like, yeah. (: plus cats are cuter. >w<

Actually, I prefer catdog.

This has always bothered me. Especially when Cat travelled through his own body. That's when things got confusing.

Back on topic: cats. Because cats are simply amazing, and I've always liked cats over dogs anyway. Actually, I pretty much dislike dogs. I'm also amused to see cats winning in the polls. n_n
