Pokeplayer, please hit yourself with a hammer.
In Japan, Weavile and Sneasel are called cats in the anime, manga, and many other instances. Black cat demons are also in Japan and use their claws for fighting. If anything, they are based on cats and weasels.
Shinx is based on Kimba the White Lion, one of the first anime ever. All of their line is LIONS. Not dogs. How you even think that is ridiculous. Just because a Pokemon acts more dependent and loyal to a trainer means squat, they're Pokemon. You think Pikachu is a dog too?
The Eeveelutions are many different creatures in one. THE ONLY DOG ONE IS JOLTEON. Espeon, Leafeon, and Vaporeon are obviously confirmed cats. Umbreon is a mix of oriental egyptian cat and fox. Glaceon and Flareon are most likely fox. To think those are dogs just is stupid. In the games, anime, and otherwise, they show behavior and looks to felines or vulpines. Deal with it.
How you think Absol looks like a dog is actually hilarious. It has cougar-like anatomy and a mane, and a short feline-like face. It's based on a kutabe. HURR WHAT's THAT?
It's a white lion from Chinese/Japanese legend that prophesied disaster. And it looks almost exactly like Absol, living in the mountains, with long claws, and a horn on it's head. Absol roars, jumps like a feline, and is in no way doglike. Fail some more.
Suicune is a qilin. It's a Japanese unicorn. But it also has leopard-like spots like Fujin, the North Wind god.
Since when has there ever been a mongoose that looked like Zangoose? Why don't you brush up on your zoology, kid. Cats are enemies with snakes too. So are a bunch of animals- birds, horses, freaking sharks. Persian cats in India, ones that look an uncanny amount like Zangoose- are also skilled at hunting snakes. Zangoose is a mix of cat and mongoose- thus it's name, CAT FERRET (which also translates to mongoose).
Arcanine is there because it's a Haetae, a dog with the pelt of a tiger that breathes fire. If the dog club wants to host Entei and Raikou, we have as much right to host a Pokemon that is part tiger inspired. FYI, only the English name has anything to say about it being a dog regardless- the Japanese name is Windie, which tributes how the Haetae and Arcanine run at blazing speed.
Next time you try to be smart, maybe do some research.
