I've finally got my hands on Pokemon Moon!

I've picked the female character with the light hair, named her Serena, after my favourite Sailor Moon character.

So far, I met Professor Kukui, Lillie, and Hala. Also, I saved Cosmog from some wild Spearow, fell off the bridge, got saved by Tapu Koko, and picked Litten as my starter. I've got high hopes for it!

    Current team:
    Litten

After receiving my starter, I met my rival, Hau, and battled him. My Litten took his Rowlet down with 3 Embers.

Then I went on to catch a Pikipek. Looked for one with Skill Link. This took a lot of time, since most of the Pikipeks I caught had Keen Eye.

I also caught a Grubbin, and trained it until it learnt Mud-Slap.

Then I battled Hau again, but this time it took only 2 Embers to defeat his Rowlet. As for his Pichu, it took quite a few Mud-Slaps, but it didn't pose much of a threat. After defeating him, I received the Z-Ring.

Afterwards, I went to Kukui's lab, got Rotom in my Pokedex, and got an Island Amulet. Then I caught a Pichu and a Slowpoke.

    Current team:
    Litten
    Pikipek
    Grubbin
    Pichu
    Slowpoke

Today, I went to Hau'oli City, went to the Trainers' School, and defeated all the trainers there. Then, Lillie showed me around the city, and I went to change my haircut.

Then I went to the Marina, and battled a Team Skull grunt. Afterwards, I battled the first Trial Captain, Ilima.

After this, I could go to Route 2. I headed to the Hau'oli Cemetery, battled all the trainers there, and went to the Berry Fields. Here, I had to deal with Team Skull again.

After defeating Team Skull, I looked for a Crabrawler. But they didn't appear, so I went for a Makuhita instead. I think it could come in handy for the first trial. Even so, I'll try to catch a Crabrawler later.

I also did some grinding for the trial. In the process, my Makuhita learnt Force Palm, and my Pikipek evolved into a Trumbeak.

    Current team:
    Litten
    Trumbeak
    Grubbin
    Pichu
    Slowpoke
    Makuhita

I managed to complete the trial! Totem Raticate was easier than I expected it to be.

I looked for a Diglett with Tangling Hair, and caught one to be a temporary team member.

Currently, I'm training my Pichu. I hope to evolve it at level 13, so that it can learn both Nasty Plot and Electro Ball.

    Current team:
    Litten
    Trumbeak
    Grubbin
    Pichu
    Diglett
    Makuhita

    Boxed for now:
    Slowpoke

Today, I went to Route 3 and got the Soothe Bell for my Pichu. Then, I went to grind my Pichu, Grubbin, and Diglett. Pichu learnt Nasty Plot, evolved, and then learnt Electro Ball. Grubbin learnt Bug Bite, and Diglett learnt Magnitude.

I also went to the Melemele Meadow, where I had to rescue Cosmog again. Then, I had to fight Hau again, and he also evolved his Pichu. However, my Diglett quickly took it down. Then it was Litten vs Rowlet again, with Litten prevailing again.

Afterwards, I defeated the last few trainers on Route 3, and got a Red Card.

Now, I'll prepare for my battle with the first Kahuna, Hala, and train my Slowpoke so that it can learn Confusion.

    Current team:
    Litten
    Trumbeak
    Grubbin
    Pikachu
    Diglett
    Makuhita

    Rotating team members:
    Slowpoke

While I was training my Slowpoke, a cousin of mine came over to my house. And he also plays Pokemon.

I asked him for a Crabrawler, since I couldn't find one myself. I caught a Petilil for him in return. Meanwhile, my Litten evolved into Torracat.

Either way, I finished training my Slowpoke, and went to challenge Hala. I used Trumbeak against Mankey, Slowpoke against Makuhita, Diglett to take his Crabrawler's Z move, and then Trumbeak to finish Crabrawler off.

After defeating Hala, I got the Fightinium Z and the Ride Pager, the latter which I used a lot.

My cousin asked me to trade a Boldore with me, so I caught a Roggenrola to trade. Then I got his Boldore, and it evolved, and he trained my Roggenrola so that it'd evolve into Boldore. Then we traded the Boldore and the Gigalith again, and my Boldore evolved.

Afterwards, I went to the Marina again. This time, I took a ferry to the island Akala. Here, I met Olivia and Mallow. I also met Dexio and Sina. I battled Sina, and my Torracat defeated both of her Pokemon.

Now, I've reached Route 4, and I can catch Mudbray here. I think I'll catch one. However, I have a feeling I need to go back to Melemele, and catch a Cutiefly there for Fairy coverage.

    Current team:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Grubbin
    Pikachu
    Diglett
    Crabrawler

    Boxed for now:
    Slowpoke
    Makuhita
    Gigalith

I didn't catch a Cutiefly, but instead I went on and catch a Mudbray with Stamina. Then I went to Paniola Town, and battled Hau again, with my new Mudbray. I still had no problems defeating him.

Then I went to the Paniola Ranch, where I got a Stoutland for my Ride Pager. Then I went to Route 5, where I caught a Fomantis, and my Trumbeak learnt Pluck. After this, I met Gladion, and battled him. Now it's time to prepare for the second trial.

    Current team:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Crabrawler
    Pikachu
    Mudbray
    Fomantis

    Rotating team members:
    Grubbin
    Diglett
    Slowpoke

    Boxed Pokemon:
    Makuhita
    Gigalith

I've heard lots of good stories regarding Mudbray and Mudsdale in the in-game runs, so I'm sure it'll do very well for your team! Stamina is also a great ability, especially since its Defense is already fairly high to begin with.

The Mudbray line is quite good, indeed! Although I'm actually considering to replace mine with a Sandygast once I get one. But if that line disappoints me, then I can always fall back on the Mudbray line, or the Diglett line since they both have been really good so far.

UPDATE: The next trial was in Brooklet Hill. Here, I met Lana, the second Trial Captain.

To prepare myself for the trial, I grinded my Grubbin, Pikachu, and Fomantis, and caught a Morelull. My Pikachu learnt Thunder Wave, and Grubbin evolved into Charjabug. However, I decided to let Charjabug retire for the time being, maybe even permanently, for the following reasons:
    -I don't like Charjabug's design;
    -It evolves at the Vast Poni Canyon, which is too late;
    -Mine has been falling behind lately;
-Vikavolt has a disappointing stat spread. It looks like it should've had high Speed and Attack, but instead it has high Special Attack and low Speed.

Either way, I went further into Brooklet Hill, got Lapras into my Ride Pager, and went to investigate the weird stuff going on in the water. The culprits were Wishiwashi, and I had to battle them, though I also caught one for myself.

Eventually, I reached the end of Brooklet Hill, and then the actual trial began. It turned out that the trial only consisted of defeating Totem Wishiwashi. I tried to battle it with Pikachu, but that didn't work out, so I used Fomantis and Morelull instead. In the end, I won, and Lana gave me the Waterium Z and some Dive Balls. I think I'll use one to catch a Dewpider.

EDIT: I caught a Dewpider, with a Nest Ball instead of with a Dive Ball.

    Current team:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Crabrawler
    Pikachu
    Mudbray
    Fomantis

    Rotating team members:

    Morelull

Very unsurprising Charjabug got dumped, considering how late it evolves (I hate Game Freak for also putting the Move Relearner at a point when you're about to take on the E4 as well) and the fact you're stuck with its terrible stats until getting to Vast Poni Canyon to evolve it.

But anyways, nice to see you get Morelull! I feel it's the under-appreciated one of the 7th Gen Grass-types and I think it should do you better than the Charjabug.

So anyways, I caught a Dewpider, and trained it and Wishiwashi a bit.

I also went back to Paniola Ranch, approached the Sudowoodo that were blocking the way to Route 6, and scared them away.

On Route 6, I met a travelling girl named Hapu. However, I also had to deal with Team Skull again, but I defeated them again. Then I went on to the Royal Avenue, where I had a Battle Royal with Hau, Gladion, and some masked guy. Hau won.

Time to prepare for the third trial, which is on the Wela Volcano. And I'll use both Dewpider and Wishiwashi here, because I can't decide between the two yet. Although I may replace both of them with a Mareanie, if I get my hands on one.

My team for the third trial will probably be:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Crabrawler
    Mudbray
    Wishiwashi
    Dewpider

As far as I know, Mareanie is a rare SOS-only encounter when summoned by a Corsola. I was lucky to get my own Mareanie (now a Toxapex) even though he had Limber which is definitely Mareanie's inferior ability.

But hey, I've heard good stuff about Dewpider and Araquanid since that Water Bubble ability greatly benefits Water moves on them. Good luck with Kiawe's trial!

Today I trained my Dewpider until it evolved into Araquanid, and then I went on to the third trial. My Wishiwashi dealt with Totem Salazzle, although it got poisoned in the battle, and a Salandit came to back Salazzle up. After defeating Salazzle, I switched to my Araquanid and defeated that Salandit. And then Kiawe gave me the Firium Z and added Charizard to my Ride Pager.

Afterwards, I dealt with all the trainers on Route 7, and then went on to Route 8. Here, I met Colress, who gave me the TM for Flame Charge. And maybe I'll catch a Stufful here.

    Current team:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Crabrawler
    Pikachu
    Mudbray
    Fomantis

    Rotating team members:
    Diglett
    Wishiwashi
    Araquanid
    Morelull

    Pretty much retired:
    Slowpoke
    Makuhita
    Gigalith
    Charjabug

Today I trained my Fomantis until it learnt Leaf Blade, and caught a Stufful. I also obtained a Thunderstone, but I'm not going to evolve my Pikachu yet.

I also got access to the Poke Pelago, and now I feel encouraged to go and complete the Pokedex once I'm done with the main story.

The next trial was in the Lush Jungle, so I went there. My Torracat did most of the fighting here, but then Totem Lurantis came. I sent out Stufful first so that it could take the first Solar Blade, and so I could weaken it with Baby-Doll Eyes. Stufful survived, so I used it twice.

A Trumbeak came to Lurantis' aid. I used both my Torracat and Trumbeak to do the fighting, because the opposing Trumbeak would sometimes use Screech or Supersonic, and my Trumbeak had Growl and Roost.

Eventually, Lurantis fell first, and then the opposing Trumbeak fell. I got the Grassium Z, and now I need to go to the Dimensional Research Lab.

Today I made it through Diglett's Tunnel, caught a Mareanie, and evolved my Morelull. Then I went to Konikoni City. Here, I was supposed to meet Olivia, but she was at the Ruins of Life, so now I have to go through the Memorial Hill to get there. In the meantime, I'll be training my Mareanie.

    Current team:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Pikachu
    Shiinotic
    Stufful
    Mareanie

I got through the Memorial Hill, and through the Akala Outskirts. Here, I met Plumeria, an admin of Team Skull. I had to defeat her in battle. Now, I can meet Olivia, and battle her.

Lately, I've been busy grinding my Stufful. In the end, I decided to grind it enough to evolve it into Bewear.

Then I went to the Ruins of Life, and battled Olivia. I sent out Shiinotic against her Nosepass, though it did become a stall war, with me using Sleep Powder and even Moonlight more often than expected. Eventually, Nosepass was taken down, and I sent out Mudbray against Boldore. I started with Bulldoze here, since I was kinda expecting Weak Armor. It didn't have that ability, though. Then it was Bewear against Lycanroc. I used Baby-Doll Eyes against it, expecting it to use its Z move, which it didn't, and then it took only two Brick Breaks to finish it off (two because it narrowly survived the first one). I got the Rockium Z.

After the battle, I went to the Hano Beach, and caught a Sandygast here. Then I entered the hotel, where I met Faba from the Aether Foundation. He took me to the Aether Paradise. Here, I also met Wicke and Lusamine, and the first Ultra Beast appeared. This could get dirty...

    Current team:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Pikachu
    Mudbray
    Shiinotic
    Sandygast

    Rotating team members:
    Crabrawler

I fought the Ultra Beast with my Sandygast. It didn't take much from Venoshock, and even Psywave wasn't enough. In return, only 3 Bulldozes were needed to defeat the Ultra Beast.

After its defeat, it disappeared, though Lusamine wanted to get her hands on it herself. And judging by her grin, I don't trust her.

So we got the TM for Psychic, left the Aether Paradise, and went to Ula'ula Island. Here, Hau immediately wanted to battle me. I defeated him again, though.

Afterwards, I went to the Malie Garden. Here, I saw Kukui again, who told me to go to Route 10, and take the bus there to Mt. Hokulani, where the fifth trial is.

After leaving the Malie Garden, I expected to go to Route 10 immediately, but Lillie was nearby, so I talked to her and we headed to the library. Here, Lillie stayed to read about Alola, and I went to Route 10. Before going to the bus, I helped an old lady with finding her Stufful. In return, I got a Never-Melt Ice, and some money.

    Current team:
    Torracat
    Trumbeak
    Pikachu
    Araquanid
    Bewear
    Sandygast

    Rotating team members:

I took the bus to Mt. Hokulani. Here, I met Molayne, who battled me. I sent out my Pikachu against his Skarmory, but he withdrew it and sent out Dugtrio in its place, so I switched to Araquanid to take it out. Then I let Pikachu deal with his Skarmory, and Torracat with his Metang.

After defeating him, I defeated all the other trainers on Mt. Hokulani, before entering the observatory.

In the observatory, I saw Sophocles from the Festival Plaza. It turned out he was the fifth Trial Captain.

Anyways, he tried to summon the fifth Totem Pokemon, but things short-circuited, and I had to answer 4 questions to get the power back on. I also had to deal with a Grubbin and 2 Charjabug. I used my Torracat and Trumbeak to deal with them. At the last Charjabug, I had to use quite a few Super Potions, because I wanted my Torracat to be in perfect shape to deal with the Totem Pokemon. But on the other hand, my Trumbeak evolved into Toucannon and learnt Beak Blast.

Eventually, the Totem Pokemon came, and it was a Vikavolt. I used my Toucannon to steal its berry, and it called upon a Charjabug. Then I used Beak Blast, and they attacked my Toucannon and got burned in the process, just as I planned.

Then I sent out Torracat. I decided to take out the Charjabug first, to prevent Totem Vikavolt from being a huge threat. Then I went full force on Vikavolt, only for it to call upon another Charjabug. I finished off Totem Vikavolt, but I struggled with that Charjabug. It would regularly paralyze my Torracat and deal heavy damage with Spark, and occasionally my Torracat would be immobilized. I even had to waste almost all of my Super Potions! But in the end, I defeated that Charjabug, and got the Electrium Z and the Steelium Z.

Honestly, this whole ordeal has made me hate Charjabug. It can be a cocoon, it can be ugly, it can evolve late, it can even have a disappointing evolution, but now it has crossed the line.
