2nd Gen Celebi

In Pokémon Crystal, the only way to get Celebi was through a (now shut-down) mobile phone service in Japan. But, in the Virtual Console version you can get the Celebi event whenever, I think.

Did you get a chance to do the Celebi event in the virtual console version? What about the original? I'm sure there are people out there who had their ways back then.

I didn't have access to The Pokémon Mobile System GB, and didn't have a GameShark or anything like that back in the day. So I never had Celebi in my original copy of Crystal. I did get Celebi in the virtual console release though, which was a really nice touch. The event works nicely in the story, and I enjoyed seeing everything unfold in the Illex Forest. I wish I had tried for the glorious rose-colored shiny Celebi. I also have the event Celebi from HGSS.

I like using Celebi, and love his movie. Pokemon4ever: The Voice of the Forest happens to be one of my favorites.

I didn't get very far in the Virtual Console version of Crystal since I lost interest in the game, so I didn't get to do the Celebi event. My used copy of Gold version that I purchased a long time ago had a Celebi though, but the battery on that game has long since died.
