Sadly none of that will be in the game. The characters have to be on a Nintendo console. The only real liked choice about that is Grey Fox. Besides, most of those characters are second or first party.
Snake and Sonic are related to Nintendo. No one gets that. >.<
Snake debuted on a forgotten system called the MSX, then his second title was on the NES if I recall correctly. There's Twin Snakes after that, and Konami asked Sakurai if Snake could be in.
SEGA is very close in ties with Nintendo now. They were rivals when they first started, until Sony's PS2 forced both sides to either quit or make a new system that competed with the PS2. SEGA became third-party and developed most of it's newer games on Nintendo handhelds and consoles. Sakurai and Yuji Naka both wanted Sonic to be in since the beginning of Melee, though there wasn't enough time during Melee for the data to be coded when they discussed it. Now we have Brawl which gives enough time for Sonic to be coded in. Plus there's Mario and Sonic at the Bejing Olympics 2008 which strengthes the rivalry that's also a friendship SEGA and Nintendo shares.
