Cheat Codes?

I know some people are all like "OMG I'M USING CHEAT CODES TO GET ARCEUS" and all that, whereas other people say "That's cheap, I'm gonna play the game the non-cheating way". What are your opinions on cheat codes?

I never use cheat codes, I prefer playing Pokémon the traditional way and the way it should be played. After all, you are supposed to catch them all legitimately that's the aim of the game.

I use to "over-dose" my Ruby version and Emerald version with Action Replay. Then I learned my lesson. My Ruby version still works fine but I had to restart my Emerald version because the Action Replay glitched up my game to where I couldn't hold any items in my Bag.

Other than that, I used Action Replay on my FireRed to get all 3 Starters and Mew, which worked but somehow the all of the codes on the Action Replay got erased suddenly and I had to fork over $20 to the guy I borrowed it from.

Needless to say, I learned my lesson. Now I avoid ALL code-breakers like the plague.

I feel rather mixed towards cheat codes. While they usually make things easier in the games, sometimes they may glitch up the game.

I am not going to be like to someone that you are wrong for using cheat codes to beat the first gym leader because I tend to use cheat codes too (but for a different reason) and that would make me look foolish. So I think that if you want to use cheat codes, hey its up to you and I wouldn't think any less of that person. Besides the only time I use cheat codes is when I am stuck such as the Battle Subway.

I have an action replay, but I use it rarely. I usually do it to trigger events, or help me get some items I need.

I dont use it for getting level 100s or anything like that though.

I train all my Pokemon by default and catch my shiny(s) by default, the only cheat code I've used is for Items/TM/HMs.

I use cheat codes to screw around. If I want to hack a Happiny's stats to 999 and I want to murder everyone in the region, I'll do it. Just for a few giggles. So I don't care if you use codes or not. I think you're a liar if you never at least had a burning desire to use one.

I use cheat codes only when I complete the whole story. I never use those cheat codes such as making all wild pokemon shiny and making a Godkarp (a god-like magikarp with those impossible stats). The only cheats I use are cloning and hacking of items.

I believe there was thread like this a few years ago.

I don't necessarily think it's cheap, it just makes the game boring. I have no problems using them but I don't see the point of playing the game then.
But that would really depend on what cheats you use that would make gameplay boring.

I'm with using cheats on pokemon if it's for event pokemon, item codes or doing some easy leveling(for b/w only). But if it's to make hacked pokemon, I really don't bother myself to so, since I might accidentally bring them into an online battle.

The point of playing is to win, and winning is hard. It takes months and even years to complete a game. That's why it's a challenge.

But if we were to use cheats just for the sake of winning, where's the fun and challenge in that? I just don't see it. Besides, it makes me pretty proud when I achieve something without the use of cheats, such as getting a Mew from a Pokemon Event.

i only used AR to get TM/HMs and sometimes clone if I needed to.
other than that nope, but the more you use cheat, the lesser fun you have in my experience in 3rd gen
