Well, the chubby one isn't slow just so you know. C-Pika is shaped more like a mouse, something which went awry after he got onto the treadmill. It's just that C-Pika would be more used to moving on four legs, and with that comes less agility, but he would get a top speed advantage. C-Pika also looks adorable and huggable, that's something else that wasn't shown in Pikachu any more. Pikachu is a more self-standing Pokémon now, and it is much more fit to take in a journey. But shouldn't be compared to a rodent any more, though.
 
Skinny Pikachu, but that's because it's much leaner and faster, which is realistic for a mouse; and also because a big thing in the anime with Quick Attack and Electro Ball for it to have that speed.
 
Definitely chubby <3 <3 I've always preferred Pikachu the chubby way. The slimmer version looks so awkward to me. I just wanna hug the chubbier one and pet it and eee <3

I guess Pikachu just lost a lot of weight from training and traveling though. :P
 
I like the chubby one. Just like my opinion of Sonic the Hedgehog! :)
Even though skinny is easier to draw for me.
 
Chubby Pikachu. It's a ball of cuteness! However, a speedy Pikachu does make sense and the only way to have this is through skinny Pilachu.
 
I really like Chubby because its the original and its pretty cute, but I don't care too much either way.
 
Skinny Pikachu looks deformed and misshapen. The chubby one is actually cute, the skinny one looks like it's trying too hard to be cute and miserably failing.
 
I like the chubby pikachu much better, it just fits in better in my mind. I Honastly wish they never messed with its design

Somewhere inbetween the two you gave, so I voted skinny :3. Seems much more battle-ready.
 
This has always been a huge topic when it comes to the anime, but it wasn't anything I ever really payed attention to when watching the first few seasons. I believe it was around Hoenn where the change happened, so we've definitely been stuck with skinny Pikachu for a while.

While the chubby Pikachu is definitely cuter, and brings back a lot of nostalgia, I'd honestly have to say I prefer the skinny Pikachu. I honestly don't really know why, but I reckon it's probably because I've just seen way more episodes of the anime with the skinny Pikachu, I've never actually used Pikachu in the older games, and it just generally look like a more battle-suited Pokemon :p
 
I preferred the chubby version, since it was so much cuter. I suppose it's not the most ideal for battle, since you'd think it'd have to be fit to go really fast (which is Pikachu's thing) but...

At least Raichu is still kinda chubby now...
 
I like them both, but chubby Pikachu gets my pick. It looks more energetic, while skinny looks more natural and laid-back as I see it.
 
I am sure the "chubby" Pikachu photo the thread starter posted was Pokemon Special Manga's Pika; Nonetheless, I still pick the chubby Pikachu. :)
