Since a thread for high school students was started, I figured a thread for college students should be started. This is for community college and university students alike. What is your major or what are you considering if you haven't decided on a major yet? What are you studying right now? Do you hope to go on to graduate school (that includes law school, medical school, etc.)? Did you end up going to your Number 1 choice school after you graduated high school? Do you feel things are too expensive where you go? How are the dorms/roommates (if applicable)?

Discuss anything you want related to college.

I hope to major in music and I aim to transfer to a music university.

I have little confidence everything will go as I plan, though. Q_Q

I'm on my second to last semester at community college (I still have summer booooo) and then I'm transferring this fall. It was actually nice because I got a free scholarship for comm college, so I'm only paying half of what I would have.

I'm a public policy major and I'm concentrating in urban poverty and then eventually getting my joint masters in urban education policy & j.d. so yaaaaay for being in school for a long time haha :D

my classes right now: drawing I, western civ I, world religions, and biology. then i'm taking speech, intro to computers (sadly required and I put it off till the very last semster) and microeconomics.

Well I'm just about wrapping up my first year of College. This was sort of an introductory program, designed to make viable candidates for the real program I'd be hoping to get into, called Media Arts. On March 3rd I had my interview and just a few days ago I have received word of admission into the program.

This year has been interesting, mostly because I had to commute to school. And not just a bus ride down from my house, but I've had to take a train to my school, located in a certain suburb of Toronto, from Toronto.

Next year I hope to live on residence and I'm very curious as to how people have found it. A few of my friends have told me it is simply great to live on residence, because everything is so readily available, including friends. Personally I think that'd be great at times but also a gigantic pain in the ass at other times. I'm not too excited to move out but I have to so...

Finishing my third year of Computer Science at Grand Valley State University. If all goes well, I should have my degree after next year.

I am planning on going to either UCLA or UC Berkeley, or to another school if they give me a free ride. Don't know what I want to major in for sure, though. ^_^

Those schools are hard to just get into, let alone get a free ride.

I'm going to be a senior at California State University, Chico this fall. I'm taking an LSAT prep course this summer and applying to law schools this fall. My top choice is Santa Clara University School of Law.

I go to university. I'm an undergraduate, trying to complete a degree in Psychological Science. My major is well, Psychology, and my three minors are Japanese, Anthropology and Politics. I do want to do honours, and one day, a phD. Finally, I do a Counselling course on the side.

I hope to major in music and I aim to transfer to a music university.

Musicology, 'ey? What can you do with a Musicology degree after you graduate? I could only think of teaching/tutoring... but that's probably because I know NOTHING about musical degrees...

My aunt graduated from UC Davis with a Music degree and she taught at private school in Los Angeles where some famous people's children went.

Currently studying International Business, but switching majors to Computer Science at the end of my semester. Finishing up my freshman year, switching to something I'll actually like before I fall too far behind.

Currently finishing up my first year of college. Right now I'm majoring in Graphic Design but I really like Psychology and I have a knack for it so I'm considering that career field. I'd definitely need to continue onto grad school after I get my bachelor's.

College is pretty cool but I hate how I fall into the stereotype of getting little sleep, doing a lot of work, and relying on coffee and energy drinks to do stuff hah.

Only a few more weeks left of uni for me. After this Easter break, all that's left is a few weeks of revision, exams, then a few weeks later I'll have graduated. Friggin' scary, if you ask me! I've been doing a law course at the London School of Economics, but unlike the US university system it's a) an undergraduate degree and b) entirely focused on law - no 'major' or 'minor' anything: just law.

In terms of stuff I've studied, that'd go like this: Introduction to the Legal System, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, Constitutional Law, Philosophy of Property, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, European Union Law, Commercial Law, Media Law, Intellectual Property Law, Company Law, Jurisprudence - ugh! - as well as an elective module on Cold War History, to make sure I keep some sort of sanity with all this law!

Currently, I'm living in halls of residence. It's a shared room - which is a rarity in UK universities - but my roommate's really nice, and it's much cheaper, which is good. Had a house last year but moved out mainly because of the cost. Most of my friends I made from either talking to them on my course, or encountering them in my first halls nearly 3 years ago. The people I know who do live at home always regret it to a certain extent as they miss out on a bulk of the social activity that goes on. They have their reasons, of course, for staying at home, but most of them have a slight tinge of regret.

I didn't mean a free ride to UCLA or Berkeley. I meant a free ride to another university. While UCLA and UC Berkeley for me aren't a pipe dream, the chances of getting full merit aid for them are really... nil. xD

What is your major or what are you considering if you haven't decided on a major yet?
    Nursing.
What are you studying right now?
Nothing. I am still in High School I am just enrolled for fall semester.
Do you hope to go on to graduate school (that includes law school, medical school, etc.)?
Nope. I might go anyways because if I get a job at a hospital they'll pay for it.
Did you end up going to your Number 1 choice school after you graduated high school?
Sure. I only had one choice. My extreme lack of money limited me to the college I live closest to.
Do you feel things are too expensive where you go?
Not really. $9,000. I was able to get enough grants, scholarships, with the financial aid to pay it off completely by March.
How are the dorms/roommates (if applicable)?
Hurray for living in my mom's furnished basement!
When are you supposed to graduate?
2015. It'll probably be before that because I plan on taking a few classes in the summer to speed up my Bachelor's degree.

I'm looking to finish up my master's in finance this semester. A word of advice: Don't pursue a master's in finance. It's rip-your-hair-out difficult.

Having professors that can't speak our language doesn't help in the least.

I'm taking computer engineering in one of the best universities in Brazil. I'm enjoying it a lot, even though I haven't ever been a technology lover. I never thought about it beforehand, so it was kind of a random choice. The best universities in Brazil are free, you have to go through a hard exam, though.

Are law schools free even if you're from the United States? Do you know if room and board is free as well? I'm curious.

If it's at all similar to the situation in France I would imagine you would need to be either a citizen or a permanent resident of the country and paying taxes. I might be mistaken, though.

At the moment I'm in an Undergraduate Computer Science program - just a week away from ending my first year. Stressful ****, man.

Figured I might as well post. :D
I'm currently attending the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities pursuing a B.D.A./B.S. in Architecture, with a currently goal of going on to a M. Architecture as well. Not too sure what I actually want to do with those potential degrees, but I'm interested in Architecture and Design in general. So we'll see what ends up happening.
