So I'm wondering something. Is it possible to use Arceus and Xerneas to their full potential in a serious deck? Arceus requires every type of basic energy in the game to be at max power, and Xerneas requires as many different types of pokemon on your bench as possible.

For Xerneas, It requires fairy energy to use, and needs different types of Pokémon on the bench. Which if you have the Sky Field stadium card you can have up to 8 at a time. Would it be possible to use all of the these Pokémon and Have Xerneas be used to it's max power?

The only way I could see Arceus being used is with a colorless only deck. Even then drawing that amount of energy without a complete imbalance in the cards (Only drawing energy with no Pokémon) Which seems kinda dangerous to me.

What do you guys think? Are they doomed to just causal decks? If even that? Or are they there to look pretty?

I think you might get them to Tier 2/Tier 3, but Tier 1 is just asking far too much.

Ah. I figured that getting them to their max is near impossible. Drawing all that energy for Arceus and all those pokemon for Xerneas xP

Maybe the Mythical Collection card won't ask for as much.

Well, really, to get decent damage, you could get by with 3 different types, but getting all 3 types incorporated really keeps it from ever reaching tier one, even with very aggressive setup cards.

With a spread of the main energy types and a couple of Professor's Letters you could probably have the bulk of what you need fairly early on.

If you ran like 2 of each basic energy and maybe a third of one or two of them that corresponds to another pokemon in your deck you could pull it off. You could also run things like Yanmega Break in the deck that costs nothing to attack if you have exactly 4 cards in the hand and only three colourless for a clean 100 which should help a lot if Arceues is having trouble setting up.
