4th Gen Complaints thread

The only move that I really miss was Curse. I spent two weeks preparing a Porygon2 just to make it into a Cursegon2 of old, and when I found out that Curse wasn't coming back, I spent even longer growing the berries to un-EV it. Physical P2 was supposed to re-take the UU metagame by storm and become OU again, darn it!

On Topic:

Meh, what the above poster said. The punches aren't that useful for me though, since I'm mainly a based on special attacks and statusing.

Not an unexpected outcome thouh I have to say, and they are tutor moves from the Battle Frontier anyway as mentioned above so there you go.

I'm not really that upset nor surprised that the Elemental Punches aren't available as TMs anymore. It was basically a known factor to happen as in DPPt the Elemental Punches were not TMs either, but instead found at Move Tutors. For the least the moves are still available, just in a different way. Seeing as it's still there regardless of it being found in an altered way, I'm not really upset about this change from Gold and Silver.

Heh, I understand what you mean with that.. it would have made a lot of sense to have them evolve Sneazel, but I guess they just did it to keep some aspects of nostalgia in the games. Or just because they didn't want to include a 4th Gen. POkemon on his team..

Ehh, but it still would fit since it's an evolution of a 2nd gen poke. Ah well, I guess it's not that big of a deal, but I do agree it would have been nicer to have a stronger team =P

wow it seems that the only complaint here is the female trainer. Personally i prefer Kris cause she had a different wardrobe than gold (didnt make them look like they were twins lol)

but i havent seen any major complaints about the game, im still thrilled to be getting heartgold for christmas ^^

My main problem with Silver's team isn't that they didn't give him any of the fourth generation Pokémon, but that they didn't give him a rematch afterward, such as something that was done with Barry from DPPt. I think this would have been the best time of the game to alter his team with the new evolutions since the original Gold, Silver, and Crystal besides change in moveset and abilities.

I haven't played the game but I have read up on it so much and it seems like a really good game and the graphics seem to have been improved a lot since platinum. The improved storyline seems to be really impressive and I like the fact that everything has virtually stayed in the same places as everything was in the original but nothing has really annoyed me yet.

I caught Entei from first try with an ultra ball ... however raikou was a pain - 7 encounters and on the 8th i caught him. Anyway i guess i got lucky :]

The fact that Crystal was replaced by a new girl, who I refer to as Heart.
Other than that, I can't complain about anything. It took G/S/C, the best PKMN games in my opinion and adding even more to the game & storyline!

Nothing annoyed me I loved the game. I recently got SS, and I beat HG...I love it, I love the new adde, specially the legendaries adds. SS probably my favorite out of the 2 since Silver was always my favorite out of G/S/C.

Replacing Crystal with a girl in a goofy outfit,

The only obtainable Sinnoh Pokemon before the national dex are the move-related evolutions, which I think are ugly (especially Yanmega)

and the moonspeak, yes, I HATE the Japanese language, I only want it in english, as it is the only language I can understand, I hate having to wait til spring,

Oh, and Lucario is unobtainable without trading with DPPt, which i can't do until after the national dex, CURSE YOU LANCE!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing that really dissapointed me in HG/SS was also something that dissapointed me in the Original GSC, how Pikachu, the "beloved" franchise mascot, is unobtainable until around the very end of the game, when you have done everything else, I'd be happy if they had Pikachu a little earlier in the game, like in Ilex forest or something...
