Throughout your Pokemon Journies did you often stop to participate in the Pokemon Contests? I often did, just to break from the main-story. Did you prefer contests over gym battles? Was it hard for you, in the higher ranks? What pokemon would you usually use? How about poffins, did you enjoy baking them for your Pokemon to eat?

I enjoyed the added bonus of being able to participate in Contests. Although I did find myself a little disppointed when I found that the only contest center was in Hearthome City. I would've really enjoyed travelling around entering in a variety of different contests at range of different locations, and have my own contest journey alongside my main one. I did win a few ribbons and I did enjoy the fact that poffins realted to oontests and helped your Pokemon grow and adapt to certain types of contests, just if the concept was expanded on further, It would've been much better imo.

I liked the contests. Call me girly or not serious about pokemon, but I thought it was a neat way to show that not everything had to be about battling. And I still would place Contests above Musicals and whatever the hell was in HG/SS can't remember.

...of course, I would still pick battling over contests, but that's neither here nor there.

Making poffins was great fun! I really liked making them, they beat Pokeblocks by two thousand miles. I will agree with you on the whole one-contest center thing. I liked it more in R/S when there were lots of contest halls, asdfjkl. I think Emerald did the same thing as D/P/Pt, there was only one contest hall, but I could be wrong on that because it has been forever omg since I played Emerald

Was rooting around in my Black version today, and I found a Lv100 Mightenya that I assume is transferred from Sapphire with 10 Contest Ribbons, so I was really into it back in the days of R/S.

If you don't like SPOILERS, don't read my post...please. May be a TL;DR...

Used Magcargo (Flame Body) with a Tough Ribbon in a Tough Contest, and LOST. GASP! People chose the same judge as me. I came in 4th, aka LAST. (Lost to Jasmine of Johto,) & 2 others...one, a Hiker?

I didn't use Milotic as of late...(not mine per se, but I got it via Wifi...) for contest o' Beauty.

I need a Kawaii Pokémon with Cute moves to win ze contest...no? I think that may be ze only one to beat, no? I must win Contests... Am I right?

I participate from time to time...Magcargo in MASTER RANK not too long ago...

I thought they were okay at first, but I still prefer gen III contests over them. I didn't care for the dancing portions and I hated having to dress up my Pokemon, even though it was usually humorous. But I'm a gen III nut. ;( Though I would place them above musicals definitely.

I did the contests, even bred Pokemon specifically for them. I got the Master Rank in a couple of the caegories, and laziness is the only keeping me from going and getting the rest of them. Plus it's the only time where Jasmine was able to score a victory over me xD

Didn't care for the dancing thing, and my dressing them up usually resulted in a mess that wasn't even recognizable as a Pokemon, but it was still better than the minigames that followed.

Whenever I got Rampardos, I always made it take part in Tough contests because some of its moves fall in the Tough category. I also made Staravia take part in Cool contests too. Other than those two, I didn't take part in other categories.

I like Gen III's contests a bit better, but the dress up and dance parts of the Gen IV contests were fun too.

I liked Gen IV's contests, especially the dance portion and the accessories. It was also like so easy in the lower ranks. Gen III contests just didn't make the cut for me although I did win a Master Beauty rank there with a Roselia.

I don't usually care much for contests, I'm more of a serious battler.

My Mothim won a couple of ribbons and I'm going to try and get a couple of other team members to follow in his footsteps haha :)

Personally I loved them - you have to give almost the same concentration to them as you would to battling :) With the poffins I was always scared I'd scratch my DS cause I was stirring so hard lol xD
