    Heya!
How are or were the new styled contests for you?
I enjoyed them and managed to make about I think over 10 contest stars.

I've enjoyed Pokemon Contests in the original Ruby & Sapphire and Diamond & Pearl, and have definitely missed these elements in B/W & X/Y. I'm excited that they have made a return in ORAS!

I'm just now getting into Slateport City, so I haven't experienced the new contest format yet, but I most definitely plan to have some contest ribbons decorating my Pokemon!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who is into contests!
I also started there and I enjoyed them all the time.

I like them a lot! I've always loved contests. It's one of the features that I've always been disappointed that they removed back in gen 4, so having it back in ORAS is awesome-sauce. I've made a few contest stars (my Mawile, my shiny Medicham, and my cosplay Pikachu) and hope to make a bunch more! :3

I just wish they had added Wi-Fi contests as a feature. I was pretty sad to see that they didn't :c

So, I just entered my first Pokemon Contest with my shiny Wingull from Kalos, and man, I don't remember the Normal Rank being that difficult. I came in third, behind two Pokemon who each five-star'd the excitement meter.

Time to start making Pokeblocks. Question: Is there a maximum amount of Pokeblock each Pokemon can eat? I don't see a "smooth" or "feel" qualifier for the Pokeblocks, nor do I see a luster guage on the Pokemon stat screen. Is there a limit, or can you essentially feed them until you max out each stat?

The "sheen/feel/smoothness" has been abandoned in this game. Now you just keep feeding until the contest stat is maxed out, which is now much easier to do.

Also a tip for saving berries. Make rainbow pokeblocks by combining four different colour pokeblocks
except I think it's only red and pink that can't go together or it'll make red or pink pokeblocks.

As stated above make rainbow pokeblocks and get 1 pokemon to max in all areas then visit the pokemon fanclub I think it is to get special contest scarf items.

With these and resetting your moves to the correct contest type its actually hard to lose.

Thanks, all. Another thing I've noticed is the way the ranks work. Before EACH Pokemon had to go through the lower ranks to reach Master. Now, it seems as long as ONE Pokemon has unlocked the next rank, any Pokemon may enter it. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I guess it makes Contests a little faster to get through that way. I also miss getting a ribbon for each contest, regardless of rank.

Still, I'm very much enjoying them. Oh, and I didn't know what the dude to the left of the counter meant by creating a "special stage." I completely forgot that you were able to use your real location as backgrounds for pictures. I'm totally playing around with that too.

I've taken three pokemon through all Master ranks for the ribbons and glowy effect and am VERY glad I didnt have to do all sub ranks too for each.
