    Here is where you can discuss the Great Marsh's intricacies and inhabitants in "Cream of the Croagunk Crop."

    My review to come forthwith.

    IMO, it wasn't too shoddy as far as episodes go. To my effusiveness and surprise a track I don't remember hearing since the Indigo episodes was used when Crasher Wake was detailing out what the Croagunk festival is - that select track sounds awesome in my ears. I like the mystical, dreamlike, natural, yet lucid confidence the track has but without sounding forced. It easily goes as one of my favorite Japanese BGM tracks. And as I expected, the battle BGM was as invigorating as it always is for me, though I don't have a lot of praise for this episode's BGM outside of that.

    Aside from that, Dawn not discerning the differences between Croagunks sort of reminded me a might bit of the episode "The Wacky Watcher" when Misty and Ash couldn't tell the difference between a plethora of Magikarps that Tracey and Dr. Quakenpoker were intensely fascinated by (but Misty and Ash looked infinitely more bored than Dawn did through my eyes). And Brock.... looked rather different in his fantasies and visions of loving Nurse Joy. Not a stride from looking like a different character all together. But eh, that's just a paltry, personal, and pet peeve on my behalf and something I'd rather brush off. Also, how PUSA changed Hamilton's appearance.... well... I think that might have been a bit of a stretch.

    In brief: Not too bad.

    It was a pretty good dub over all. I think that Hamilton's appearance change was due to legal reasons about his character looking a bit too similar to another one. Also, I expect it to be the Japanese that made this edit and not PUSA. There was a lot of music from the Japanese IIRC. Also, there was a nice BGM when Brock's Croagunk and Hamilton's Croagunk were fighting, it reminded me of a good old fashioned ho-down

    The fact that they were worshiping a huge Croagunk statue and then were worshiping a Croagunk mecha. Wake's was an interesting character as well and I really liked his voice. The part where Meowth had to dress up as Croagunk and got worshiped by the town's people was really funny. Of course, Meowth wouldn't get passed the Brick Break challenge, but it was still fun. Hamilton sounded kind of like Sonic from Sonic X so I guess he was played by his voice actor. Nurse Joy winning of course was kind of unexpected along with the fact that she went all super hero mode with Chrissy, her Croagunk, but it was nice to see a Joy get some recognition once in a while.

    Overall, I give this episode a 9/10 for a good dub performance.

    what did it achieve?
    i really do hate when they just waste time in epsiodes that is full of nothing relating to the main storyline or parts of the storyline

    epic failure because it achieved nothing and was a waste of time

    That, my friend, is a filler episode. ;) But yeh, filler = epic phail

    It gave Brock much needed air time. As well as gave us air time of Croagunk, which is arguably Brock's most popular pokémon. Brock really never had any kind of rival and if he had any, they were few and far in between. Also, Nurse Joy actually did something this episode besides just take care of pokémon, which is what she usually does. That's why this episode is epic win.

    Anyway, what does it really matter if it's a good episode? You even liked the Ranger Special even though that's a filler as well.
     
    Okay I just finished watching the episode on youtube today, and I had to say it went by REALLY fast...but I say that it was definitely needed for air time for Brock, since a lot of ppl have been complaining the brock barely does anything...all in all, it was pretty good and I enjoyed it...but I just can't wait to see the gym battle against crasher wake..
     
    -Much-needed focus on Brock and his super-smexy Croagunk. <3's.
    -That Romeo-like face Brock put on was friggin' hilarious. :p
    -Brock's Croagunk > All others.
    -Lol Meowth.
    -For a priority move, Vaccuum Wave was sure slow when Crissy used it. :#
    -SONIC OLOLOLOL. :p
    -Craig looks like it's a bit too attached to Hamilton :#
    -Hamilton fails at iambic pentameter
    -Wake's voice sounds so familiar...I know for a fact that I've heard it before...:# (On Yu-Gi-Oh!, I think the voice actor did Odion.)
    -lol, Wake had to be an idiot and forget his Pokémon at the Gym.

    All in all, good episode. I'm still banking on Brock's Croagunk evolving to match Jupiter's Toxicroak, but that could be just me. :#
     
    I just watched on Youtube, this one was very funny.

    - James sounds like a man when he's about 7?
    - They had better keep Pokemon Ondo...

    I usally don't want the dub but I couldn't believe that they'd change Hamilton so much. Had to watch it.

    -The "Well, my name's Ash and I come from Pallet Town and I'm here to challenge you to a gym battle!" stuck out to me too. xD It sounded so funny.
    -o_o; I've never heard dub Crogunks. Oh they're so scary ehhhhh... So weird sounding...
    -Holy WHAT? They changed the boy? O_o; That's....Really weird.
    -...Ya know if it's a legal problem wouldn't it apply to the Japanese too?
    -"I'm Brock and I'll listen." That was kinda lame.
    -He just doesn't look like Hamilton anymore...Because of those dorky glasses he was more annoying.

    I believe that the edit, like many other people, was done by the Japanese. It came off way too cleanly to be done by PUSA, even though they're pretty good when they do it.

    EDIT: The Station old guy had a Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's voice. That was a win for me.

    EDIT2: James also said "Flame on!", which was funny to me.

    Well, what they were saying is on bmgf is that Japan may have changed it due to legal problems afterwards since the editing was so good and they changed it on filb.de. Dogasu said he's going to get the rental DVD in Japan which comes out in a week to see if it really was Japan

    "Yowzers" has recently been in the dub before haha but it comes from Inspector Gadget

    I think the Ash line was funny because it sounded like he said "Well, my name's Ash and I come from Pallet Town!" as a point to win an argument? XD

    Ah hah! That was what Yowzers was from.

    Well I guess a homage to an old anime didn't turn out so well...But with the way things are so many people have the original episode anyways so it's not a total loss I guess.
     
    I liked the episode alright, mainly because:

    -It didn't focus on Ash (seems always like a +)
    -Another Team Rocket flashback! It was brief but nicely worked in. I like those. ^_^
    -Yeah, Nurse Joy DID get some recognition! Though, I don't get why that wouldn't make Hamilton want their Croagunks to get married MORE.
    -Potential parallel to Ghost of Maiden's Peak at the end? Probably not, but it was sooooo similar that it got me thinking!
