There both as valuable as eachother. To be creative you must be intelligent or your creations will be nothing but useless items, yet a man who is intelligent yet is not creative in no use at all either, as he'll only know if something's a good idea or not, and won't be able to use his intelligence to think (I.E. create).

I really don't see how either of these can entirely correlate with each other, both traits are just as endearing as the other and I honestly respect anybody who can present sound intellect and a creative spurt, while one doesn't need to have both to consider themselves unique, I believe that they're traits that help spawn our personality and certainly come in useful for future situations.

You ought to have a both on there. ^^

Because I value both. You can be the smartest on the planet, know every figure and fact, but you need creativity to think of a good use for all of your information. You need to have the proper angle to know where information would be best received.

I consider myself intelligent - I'm in advanced classes. But my life would be incredibly boring without my writing. I wouldn't know what to do with myself. A person can be stupid, but can still be creative enough to benefit the world.

Besides, Absolute Power leads to Absolute Corruption. Knowledge is power, am I right? It's like those artificial intelligence robots you see in movies and TV shows. Eventually, they get smart enough to challenge why they have to serve humans, lesser beings in their eyes. (Or receptors. Whatever xD)

But, intelligence goes past knowing things. You can develop theories from information, point out patterns, and perhaps see things differently than others. But doesn't that require creativity? Looking at things from different angles?

Bottom line? I don't think intelligence can be much use without creativity. You have to be able to apply your knowledge somehow.

Put simply: I don't think one can exist without the other.

(And, somehow, this post turned into a rant xDD Sorry, folks, couldn't stop.)

You've gotta be intelligent in order to be creative because otherwise you won't come up with anything clever/witty. So, both...

As far as I know it hasn't been decided whether either faculty depends on the other to be present in our minds, but if say, they represented different processes, given my interests in music, filmmaking and writing, I'd choose creativity.

Both have their places in a functioning society.

I don't think you can have a lot of one without a little of the other, you know. I admire both in an individual, and each are important to me. :3

I was not aware the two were mutually exclusive. I think that you can't truly have one without having some of the other. Creativity involves thinking, which means it requires at least some intellect; intelligence requires comprehension, which means thinking something through well enough to understand it, requiring at least some creativity.

Agreeing with the majority -- both! Even if someone could just have one of the traits and one only, they'd probably be pretty insufferable.

Intelligence, because being smart and having sence is good. But to be creative you have to be intelligent, so both really.

I would have to say both since creativity is a form of intelligence^^

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." - Albert Einstein.

I pretty much agree with him.

Sure, you might have the smarts to build a Super-Mega-Awesome Machine, but you need the creativity to design it.

I agree with Albert too, but we should take note that knowledge does not equal intelligence. ^^; Knowledge is a faculty that everyone can attain and easily increase over time and experience-- creativity and intelligence are two faculties that are a bit trickier to pursue... Being their nature in people is mostly taken as inborn.

You can't have neither of them without the other. It's one of those things, where you can't really explain it, but you know it.

intelligence is the the one I picked because you would never survive in this world without it.

Intelligence... and creativity. I if you have the brains, then you can create something new and useful. But I chose intelligence above else.

Well they are kind of both important but for me, I think creativity is just a tiny bit more important as it is a similar trait to what I use a lot of the time and I value very much.

I voted neither 'cause both are as valuable as each other. It takes creativity to stand out and intellect to be able to show others you are capable of doing things.
