Crime & Punishment (PG-14)

John brought Estelle to a large steel platform and pulled a lever on the wall. The platform started to move before getting faster and faster. It finally started slowing down after what seemed like only a few seconds, but Estelle thought it was probably longer. Not much though.

In front of Estelle was a large platform, about the size of a baseball field, along with a pool of water. "How's this?" John asked.

Estelle couldn't stop herself from grinning. "This is... amazing," she said breathlessly. The rest of the group had followed them down and the girl who had been shot by the tranqualizer, Sarah, was asking to battle. She had an Arcanine that looked different from any of the ones Estelle had seen before. Lucy offered to battle her, but instead Sarah went with Mick, who wanted to train his Machoke. Lucy then turned to John and offered. As was usual with her, Estelle was being ignored. She didn't mind really, but she would have liked to practice.

Instead, she walked over the large pool and took the pokeball from her waist, throwing it towards the water. A large red flash of light appeared in the water before forming into her Gyarados. He let out a roar and Estelle smiled. He towered over everyone and their Pokemon here. "Gyarados, stay here and stretch out. I'm going to go get Luxray," she said. She had left Luxray asleep upstairs.

Estelle left Gyarados and headed back up to her room. She found her Luxray wandering around and he looked relieved when he saw her. "Were you looking for me?" she asked him. He just brushed against her leg. "Come on, let's go downstairs. You have to see this!" They both headed back downstairs to practice and watch the other battles going on.

Keana turned her head as she saw Estelle enter the room again now accompanied by a Luxray I think I'll go talk to her. The only reason i know her name is because i heard someone else say it. she then turned and walked over to her saying.

"Hello, your name is Estelle right?" it would suck to get the name wrong and Keana prayed she didn't as she leaned against the wall placing a hand on her still sore side.

"Alright, sound like fun, and it looks like Soren is pumped up also."

-As I said this, Soren did a back flip, and executed a few flaming jabs. I smiled, crossing my arms, deciding to tease her. There were many things I could have used against her, but I decided to keep it simple.-

"Heh, I just hope you'll be able to keep up with me. Looks like you haven't had a real battle in a loong time. I'll be sure to do my best. However, I think I'm gonna wait till these two are finished, I'm a bit tired you see."

-Soren pouted, and I felt a bit bad, getting his hopes up like that, but I would not be made the bad guy-

"Soren, you know you are tired too, after that little skirmish, everybody is, even Lucy here."

-Soren stuck his tongue out at Sky before turning around and crossing his arms, huffing.-

Estelle stopped and turned around when she heard someone speaking to her. "Hello, your name is Estelle right?" It was the girl who had been shot, the one with green hair. Estelle thought her name was Keana.

"Yes," Estelle stated plainly. "You're Keana right? That looks sore," Estelle said, looking pointedly at Keana's side when she noticed Keana had put a hand over it. "Sorry that happened," she said, even though she wasn't even sure when it had happened. "Guess we have to get used to the risk though, right?" Estelle paused and looked down at the Flareon and Growlithe that were standing with Keana. "You like the fire-type then?" Estelle asked. She wasn't quite sure what else to say.

OOC: Well I got to log off soon, so this'll be my last post.

Wow Sky was just arrogant. Just because I haven't battled in a few months doesn't mean I was completely bad. I competed in Pokemon Leagues for god's sakes, I wasn't that bad. I felt determined to rub that arrogant attitude to the ground. It felt like he needed it. He'll learn not to take his opponents lightly again.

"Since it looks like you are battling with that Blaiziken of yours I am going to use my old buddy Sniper," I smiled at him. I stroked Sniper's arm and she puffed her chest up in pride. Blade looked a bit sad, but he would get his chance to battle eventually. I just didn't want him to get creamed yet and I didn't want to use up all my tricks now, especially the tricks of my best Pokemon.

"If you don't mind I'm going to start," I called, "Sniper start things off with Pin Missile."

Sniper brought her tail in the air, the pincer on her tail started to glow with a violent white color. With a cry, her tail released fast glowing missiles into the air. They seemed to have no particular course, but their target was obvious; it was Sky's Blaziken.

OOC: Its ok, just don;t make a habit out of it, K!

IC:

Sarah Goodwin:

"All right Cell, first strike!" she yelled, Cell disappeared then reappeared behind Tommy and attempted to use body slam. Sarah gave a smile, it was a good move for Cell to mix teleport and body slam, she was happy that Cell would be able to hold her own if Sarah was unavailable to command her.

"Woah, someones a little jumpy aren't they? Don't like being teased? I was just trying to have some fun! Haha, Soren, dodge it and use quick attack!"

-Reacting to my words, Soren quickly sidestepped, gritting his teeth slightly. He then tensed a bit before launching himself into the air, becoming a nothing but a red and white blur heading towards Sniper. I watched, absorbed by excitement. He didn't mention it, but it had been a while since he had battled. I never really made it to the league, but only because this whole thing interrupted my journey, so I intended to put my heart into this battle.-

"Now quick! get behind him and hit him with a blaze kick!!"

-Soren seemed to hear me, as he did go around sniper, and then down at him in the form of a jump kick, his whole leg ablaze.-

The missiles had missed their target because Soren had sidestepped them. It seemed Sky hadn't battled in a while, seeing Soren's reaction. By the looks of it, Soren could have been faster. The Blaziken had jumped into the air in a red and white blur in front of Sniper.

"Now quick! Get behind her and use Blaze Kick!"

I smirked as Sky's Blaziken had used Quick Attack behind him. Soren had brought up its leg and as it moved across against the air, fire started to build on the bottoms of his leg. He was already falling quickly into my momentum.

"Iron Tail from behind and use it to wrap your tail around Soren's leg!" I smirked. Sniper let out a smile as her tail started to glow and harden. With a cry the tail was flung at Soren's leg and was already in position to wrap around the Blaziken's leg.

"Oh crap... Soren WHATCH OUT!"

-I was too late. His blaze kick was already being executed, and he couldn't just cancel moves. As Sniper's tail rapped around his leg, I got an idea, although it would be a bit risky... but I didn't want to lose this battle. I looked at Soren, question in my eyes. He nodded, gritting his teeth from the strength of the hold. If I let him alone any longer, he would sprain his leg.-

"Soren! Lets get that tail off of you buddy! Use Overheat!

-He nodded, closing his eyes to concentrate before heat began to emanate from his body. He began to summon the power of his inner fire, and soon he himself was literally on fire, though it didn't seem to hurt him. He still grit his teeth, for the energy it took for him to use this move was a large amount

OOC: Tell me if it is bunnying and I will edit this.

"Soren, let's get that tail off of you buddy! Use Overheat!"

Blaziken's body started to flame up, like from that one movie Fantastic Four. His body was literally like a furnace. Overheat was a powerful attack as well, but it had a drawback. The special attack stat would get weaker. For me, Overheat should only be used twice in a battle and that was it. Since this was Sky I really didn't know how far he was going to go using Overheat. Sniper on the other hand, was wincing in pain, I needed to react quickly.

"Send him flying Sniper!" I called. Sniper grunted and started to spin its tail to increase the momentum of the throw when Soren would be doing a free fall, but also give time for me to command another attack. Soren started to moan because he was getting a headache from all the spinning. After a little bit of time Sniper sent Soren flying into the sky, into a spinning free fall.

"Quick use Cross Poison!"

Sniper crossed her arms, a familiar purple X had appeared. With a cry Sniper fired the purple X and it began moving faster and faster until it could hit its target, Soren.

((Its alll gooood)
"Oh shiz! Yo Soren, cut the lights off!"

-Soren nodded, or at least what looked like a nod. The flames went out, but he was still spinning out of control, and I didn't know what to do about that. All I could do was watch as he slammed against the wall still gritting his teeth, refusing to yell. As the cross poison flew towards him I yelled"

" Soren get out of there with quick attack!"

-He opened his eyes immediately, turning into a blur once more, milliseconds before the attack crashed into the place he had just been. He landed on the floor, holding his right arm and panting. As I looked closer I could see a cut on his right arm. He hadn't been quick enough...-

"Okay Soren, lets get serious, light em' up!"

-Soren grinned, before opening his mouth and loosing a torrent of fire aimed at Sniper-

"Now use double team!"

-He concentrated, splitting into two Soren's. He then looked at Sky, unsure of what to do next.-

"Don't worry buddy I got this. Use blaze kick on the ground, make some dust, can't have her seeing this heh heh."

-He did as directed, making a huge dust cloud, which flamethrower burst out of, heading towards Sniper. Soren came from the other side, attempting to use double kick on Sniper. A drop of sweat rolled down my face. This was a move I have only practiced with Soren, but never actually tried in battle. Unknown to Lucy, I had hidden the real Soren in the flamethrower, so he could use brave bird in case Sniper dodged the flames. The Soren double, was a diversion to distract Sniper. I knew this was a risky move, as there was always he chance that Soren would miss, and if he did, he would be tuckered out, only being able to use one more move before it was over. Hopefully she didn't see him in the flamethrower.-

Cell's move was too fast for Tommy too dodge. He fell down but got up quickly. HeE had a couple of bruises, but looked like he had plenty of energy left to battle.
"Tommy, don't give up! Hit it with Cross Chop!"
"Choke!" he exclaimed, still in pain but willing to fight to the end. His arms began to glow as he jumped quickly towards the Arcanine.
"You can do it, buddy!" I said encouraging him. But somehow I had the feeling Cell would dodge the move.
That move he used...it was way too fast. And it didn't break a sweat after using it...This ain't no regular Arcanine...It's some sort of SuperArcanine...or something like that...
Then I remembered something...
"Cell, free-form on this match, I won't be giving you any commands"
The Arcanine's trainer said that.
Uh-oh...Hope this guy doesn't take it too far with Tommy...

"It's all good, and yeah i love the fire type. These to guys were the first Pokemon I saved one i gained my freedom" Keana said gritting her teeth her eyes hardening at the painful memories of her past. "And the injury, it still hurts a little but it's like a scratch I've been through worse and i did what i had to do knowing the risks."

"So you like the water and electric type right?" She said looking at the girl in front of her. She hadn't seen Estelle during the mission but knew the girl was there up in the buildings.

There were two attacks coming at Sniper now. I had to admit that it was clever to use Blaze Kick as a way to pick up the dust off from the ground and use that as a cover. What bothered me though was the fact of Double Team. When the dust had came a stream of fire fought through the dust while a Blaziken had appeared from the side out of nowhere. It did make sense if Soren was on the side, but Sky should know better. I could get Sniper to use Iron Tail to grab on to Soren and use Soren as a shield and get her to use Cross Poison as he was blocking that jet of fire that fought through the dust.
I began to think as both attacks came out from both sides. What would do the most was the flamethrower because Drapions weren't that well adept to Special Defense as it was in Defense. If Sniper used Iron Tail to block the jet of fire Soren would attack from the side. But Sky could command him to use Double Kick in rapid succession and with blocking the stream of fire and trying to hold against Double Kicks Sniper wouldn't get a chance to move or even counter attack. The only safe option was to use that move…

"Protect Sniper!"

Sniper began to close her eyes and concentrate. A green barrier of energy came out of her body, covering all sides of her body. The Soren that came from the side had dispersed in a burst of light that was the double. The jet of flames had hit the green barrier. The question was where was the double? The dust soon cleared and Soren wasn't visible anywhere. That's when it came to me, Soren was hidden in the fire!

"Ah, I'm sorry but I don't remember you saying how you came to be with this mission, and if you did I must not have been there. You said you gained your freedom?" Estelle asked curiously, and then added: "I mean, if you don't want to tell me you certainly don't have to. It's not really my business."

Estelle looked back at her Luxray and Gyarados and shrugged. "I don't really have a particular type favourite. These two just happened to be around so I captured them. They are a good team though, since they cover each other's weaknesses pretty well. Anyways, I'm glad you're not too hurt. If you ever want to battle, or need help or something, don't hesitate to ask me," Estelle smiled, trying to look friendly.

Keana smiled grimly "Thanks, and i said gained freedom because a few months ago i was a prisoner." she answered leaving it at that not wanting to go into the details. "I was part of the kidnapping mission and I ended up chasing John and Sarah right into the shooting zone without thinking." she added.

I was really lucky though i could have been killed. she thought grimly.

"As for battling thats not really my thing. Well thats cause I've never battled before" Keana added.

-I had been holding by breath up until Sniper used protect, knocking off the double. I almost jumped! My plan had worked, now all I could hope for, was that this move would be able to finish Sniper. Like I said, it was pretty risky, but I had faith in Soren, I knew he could do it. Gathering up my courage, I shouted out the words that I hoped would end the battle.-

"Soren! Lets End It! Use Brave Bird!!!"

-Filled with new found strength Soren burst out from the front of the flamethrower. His eyes seemed ignite with the fire of determination as he tucked in his arms close to his sides, and dove towards Sniper. His body was covered in a silver aura, which came to a point at Soren's head. He aimed for his chest-

-I silently prayed to Arceus that this attack would hit. I just wanted to win this battle to earn some respect, to show that I wasn't just a "kid." That I was more mature than that.-

"Thanks, and I said I gained freedom because a few months ago I was a prisoner," Keana said. She didn't seem to want to talk about it further, so Estelle just nodded. She had a pretty good idea of what Keana meant anyway. She instantly felt bad for the girl, but tried not to show it. She knew that most people didn't like being pitied, and Estelle highly doubted anyone here would want to be seen as pitiful. Besides, Keana didn't seem pitiful, she seemed strong, as if what she had been through had made her stronger.

Estelle thought about her own past, with her father. He had hit her and insulted her too many times for her to remember, but she could imagine it was a walk in the park compared to being a prisoner, especially if Keana had been a prisoner of the mob of Balice, like Estelle thought. She couldn't see any other way. Estelle wasn't strong though, it had made her shy and reserved. She had no friends besides her Gyarados and Luxray, and possibly now Keana, though she wasn't positive about that. She snapped out of her thoughts when Keana continued to speak.

"As for battling, that's not really my thing. Well, that's 'cause I've never battled before," she said.

"You've never battled before?" Estelle blurted out, before remembering what Keana had said about being prisoner. She didn't even have any Pokemon before she escaped, which she had said was only a few months ago. "I'm sorry," she apologized, "you might want to practice a little though, I'm sure you'll need to battle at some point during this whole thing. That's just my opinion though," Estelle said.

Keana smiled at Estelle "Thanks for giving me your opinion, but Blade and Dagger aren't a fan of Pokemon battles. I killed the mobsters controlling them and worked to gain their trust. Plus I usually fight with guns and the blade i have in my pocket" she said looking down at Dagger and not spotting Blade next to him.

"Flare!" Blade said sniffing at Estelle.

"Blade does that to most new people we meet." Keana explained.

"You killed the mobsters?" Estelle said, quite shocked. "Wow, you wouldn't even need..." she paused, trying to remember what she had heard Keana call her two Pokemon, "Flare and Blade. Although I can see they love you, and I'm sure they're better off with you anyway..." Estelle said.

"Plus I usually fight with guns and the blade I have in my pocket," Keana said.

Estelle nodded. "That's good. I'm not very good with weapons," she said, thinking about the two guns still tucked into her belt. "Everyone has their thing though." She stopped talking and looked down when she felt Blade sniff her. She knelt down and put her hand out to the Flareon, not trying to touch it just in case, but allowing it to smell her hand.
