well just last night tropical cyclone yasi(haha yasi) hit queensland a category 5. now im in queensland but im in the south it hit in the north. it left destruction all in places like cairns which was very close the the eye of the cyclone and innisfail and townsville were all worst hit. their were evacuation centres everywhere 1 building in cairns that can withstand a cyclone. pets even left to fend for themselves now this was bad very bad because last nite b4 it hit they were expecting people to die, lots of em. i woke up this morning turned the tv on. guess what...no deaths, even injuries.tho the trees took a battering. so i guess this is just to spread the word on this. and staff if this is in the wrong area plz move it not close it

oh and 1more thing some1 wrote on a borad last nite. "kiss my yasi" all over it and his shop, knowingit wouldnt last long b4 it was hit.

Going to shift this over to Other Chat seeing as it doesn't really fit in the forum, Life, The Universe, and Everything.

God, it sucks to live in Queensland...floods, then cyclones? Worst we ever get is a flood followed by an earthquake that nobody notices and is only mentioned for the purpose of stating how the south is full of softies xD

Still, at least nobody died. Gotta look on the bright side of it, right?

I do feel sorry for Queenslandians (is that a word?) though...

amore we are not called queenslandians.we are called queenslanders. and yes nobody died in the cyclone, did i mention their were 2? but about 50 ppl died in the floods...

Actually, to correct the person above, a 23-year-old man died during the cyclone. I think he suffocated because of his electricity generator stuffing up when his power went out. I don't know the details, but yeah, there was a death. Either way, I'm just glad not many people were hurt. One of the big differences between Yasi and Katrina is that everybody was prepared for this cyclone. Still, I feel sorry for Queenslanders, having gone through a flood and now a tropical cyclone.

eliminator there were 2 cyclones and yes now this morning i found their was a death but that was from a power outage

Wow that is good that nobody was hurt or died, and I would have took my pets with me.

and I would have took my pets with me

Should've seen some of the reports on people trying to get home afterward, the vast majority of them had pets, and one reporter lifted his mic to a German Shepherd. Pretty cute.
