Sorry if this sounds stupid or if someone's already asked this, but I've heard that the bike in Diamond and Pearl switches gears or modes or whatever and i was just wondering what they were.

Yes the Bike in D/P switches gears. I don't know if you have to press a certain button or what. But you should have checked on google, or checked if someone else already posted this i am going to have to request that this gets locked.

I think it's like they just want to integrate the Acro and Mach Bike from RSE. Like you'd need the Mach one to go up those Sand Dunes, and you'd need the Acro bike to go on those white things. It's so that you don't always have to go switch bikes, you can just shift gears and it's a 2-in-1 bike.

Marz is kind-of right...While the obsticles have changed that's basically what the two gears are used for. For example, in certain areas there are these dirt ramps, sometimes you need speed to get over rocks and such using the ramps, and sometimes you need to go slow as to not over jump and area you need in. This is basically the only reason to switch between the two. The fast is what I use for everything else.

Its not completely a Mach + Acro combination bike. The wheelies and bunny hops from the Acro Bike have now gone. But like Hiidoran said, the bike's two gears are used for speed and then just the few number of small mud mound ramps that you encounter.
