Well I'm back for a bit, at least until the Vikings lose.
Heh, the school I'm going to is quite environmentalist (i.e. leftist) and its student body firmly believes that they actually matter in this world, so student council elections tend to be competitive. That is, aside from President, which usually has a predetermined winner each year so no one runs against him/her.
Most likely he was running unopposed in a sham election. At least that's how things typically went back when I still had to deal with student government, at any rate.
Sounds like an odd idea to have a class like that since I've never been to a school where there student government wasn't elected. Doesn't sound like something I'd like to do though since I tend to be much lower in the spirit department than people who would be qualified for the job. I do wear school colors for spirit days, though other than that, I usually don't go the extra mile. Not necessarily.
Student Government is pretty much a class and a club on it's own. It consists of students who work for the better of the school, the better of the students, and the better of themselves, to put it that way. Student Government also has it's own officers(President, Vice-president, Secretary, etc) to manage the club and whatever projects and stuff that we have and events that we need to take care of and stuff.
The class has a lot of freedom, but it certainly isn't easy at the same time. Sometimes the projects that are requested that you should work on(for example, we had to show our instructor our advertisement for homecoming. The class was split into groups, and each group had to come up with their own unique homecoming idea in order to fit with the homecoming theme to make it as interesting and excitable as possible) get a bit out of hand and its gets hectic, etc and stuff.
Overall, it's a load of fun if you have a lot of school spirit.

My, how utterly naive you are about student government. It's never about the betterment of the student body. It's simply another way for the staff to exercise and maintain their control over the masses. It sure looks good on a college/uni application, though. Not necessarily.

Looks like you've done your research. You'd be surprised at some of the things that have gone on in this community's past.I'm sorta new to dcc and I pretty much know everyone who is genderbending.
Yeah, sure. Just keep believing your delusions, then. My, what an utterly sadistic perspective that you seem to have. We're not control freaks, or we wouldn't be in student government, silly!
And I have no idea what you're talking about. There's no point in fooling others when it's quite apparent that I AM a she. o.o
