Well, do fanboys equal religious people? Both give ridiculous reasons. I mean I once asked why men x men is bad, and one of the staff said it's a psychological problem. >_>

Well, after I replied to them they shut up. Because they have no way to respond. Stupid homophobes.

Homophobes tick me off to no end. It's ironic because I was one...once upon a time. (Like I was just a stupid 12 year old)
 
I'm partially homophobe.. I'd really like to kick the butt of ones who think that there's something that might make them better in being gay. And I dislike the ones that swing hands around.
I'm bi myself.
 
I think I have an idea of what a homophobe is but could someone inform me just in case.

Basically it is someone who acts negatively, hostile, and has a prejudice against homosexuals, lesbians, bi, transgendered, and so on.
 
Yeah I thought that was what it meant. I don't see why people have to act that way, it's not your decision so why does it even effect you at all?
 
Well the problem I see in most homophobics are that they're either afraid of becoming homosexual themselves or are afraid that a homosexual person will fall in love with them. (With all the awkwardness that would entail, you can see how terrifying that could be)

Wow, that was terribly uncalled for. We get it; you hate religious people and homophobes and whatever.

+ look up the word "fundamentalist". I hate it when I'm associated with idiots like those.

@Syndrome, phobias are phobias. I have arachnophobia, meaning I'm piss-scared of spiders. I know most of them can't hurt me, but that doesn't change the fact that I get paralysed by fear when I see a remotely large one.
 
Several factors can be in play. For instance they could be homosexual them selfs and have yet to come out so they try and hide the fact they are by berating ones that are opening homosexual. Some people just don't like anything that is different be it race or sexual orientation they thrive on hate.

I think a lot of it has to do with peer pressure, at least with students (the area that applies to me most). If we had been brought up with the understanding that being gay was an okay thing, I don't think there would be as many homophobes. People don't want to look bad in front of their friends, and making fun of 'fags' is an easy way to look cool. Luckily where I live people are really accepting. Not that it applies to me, but in my classes there's a kid that's openly gay and he's a really cool guy so I sort of was worried about him being open about it. In the end everybody, even the popular kids, don't give him any trouble about it. Sadly it's not like this everywhere.

Though I'm sure there are people who actually dislike people over their sexuality and that's just silly.

Or that gay blood is trickling through their veins illegally right now if they need blood.. XD yeah, real scary. Grow up.
 
I'm still not sure whether to believe people become homosexual from birth or it happens throughout their life. There's like, so many different views. :(

Actually :/ They're not entirely wrong. Being gay actually WAS in the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders and was only recently taken out in the latest edition (DSM IV), I believe :/

So before calling whoever said that a simple "homophobe" you should perhaps do your research beforehand.. :C..

Some people are born homosexual, and others are born slightly homosexual, and have physcologically changed beyond their knowledge to become homosexual.
