Bummer. I can remember the high school days of APs and such...I'm glad they are over...

I can also remember the long nights of homework and little time for anything else...yeah...I'm glad that's over too...

so are we going to continue making an awkward mini-fuss over the occurrence of an argument or can we move on as stratos did like one post later

a disagreement, big deal jill- you guys are the ones planting a negative connotation in common discussion, its not like anyone ignited an interminable fire just by bringing up a debatable subject- as long as opinions are around there will be disagreements and there is no justification for suppressing opinions just because you're afraid of a little fire. the more you avoid debates, the more knowledge (psychological and educational) you're missing out on.

anyway hey twilight sky! its too bad you're loaded with work. since the end of the semester is around the corner i guess they're cramming your last few weeks with work? :C hopefully you manage, and you have xmas break to look forward to!

:C Yeah but even if you're not doing anything "unnamable".. after a certain age sleeping together with a sibling of the opposite sex is just awkward..
 
This is the first time in high school where I got the opportunity to take up an AP course if I wanted to. Heck, this is the first time in high school where I get to take exams.
 
I'd be too lazy to take more then one AP class. I only took AP European History, which was the only AP class I ever took. I found it quite easy since History comes natural too me. As for Biology, I would just assume take the regular one. I would just assume take Psychology and Environmental Science as Science credits.
 
For APs I took AP European History and AP Chemistry, both my senior year. Then I got to college and realized that the APs are harder than the actual college classes and that once you are a senior you have no finals (apart from papers) and a month off for Christmas. Only thing better is to finally be done with it all...too bad I have to go to grad school...

This is how I felt about some of my classes when I first got to college. I was thinking this is a college level course? I could have took this in high school which is what some of the schools allowed in the area is to take those college level classes to get a head start.
 
Yep. That's pretty much how it goes. I graduate this year so that's exciting...but then I go directly into grad school in the summer with a month off in between...gah...
 
I was alluding to courses in general not just AP. Do they now allow AP to count too College hours? Because I believe they had some classes in high school that where considered college level which would give you the hours, but you could take them at the high school.

I do believe APs count as 3 credit hours (one course), some, like AP Chem, count as 4 or 6 credit hours depending on the college you are transferring them to. At least...that's what I think...it's been awhile they may have changed the system. I just remember that if you didn't take the exam you didn't get the credits even if you did the same amount of work.
 
The "most advanced" classes I'm in at the moment are Honors Algebra II (which is pretty much like the GT Algebra I course I took in 7th grade with the addition of functions and relations, so in other words I've already learned this stuff >_>) and Honors Band (yup, Band is an Honors class; who'd 'a thunk it?). Next year I'll get to take AP (I think it's AP; maybe it's Honors) Web Design if I do well in simple computer stuff next semester.
 
Well if I knew that I wouldn't have blown off taking the AP Test, instead of watching a movie in class during AP day. I think the AP was around 50 but it wasn't any worse the Senior Fees.

50 bucks for 3 credits is a steal my friend! Which is why APs are always good to take.
 
That and I wouldn't have had to watch Lawrence of Arabia. Which I wasn't to high on at the time.
 
Half has hard, 3 times as much, and with people who are twice as incompetent because, unlike the AP crowd, they are just doing it because they have nothing better to do. (AP students tend to be more dedicated to their designated AP than the average college student).
 
That is how I felt in my Humanities class. Basically it was my first semester in college and I had nothing better to do. It didn't help the teacher talked about her husband all the time instead of teaching. And went on many upon many tangents. Waste of time at least in the class for sure.
 
I agree with the Gen Ed credits.. but it also depends on the situation.. maybe someone just fills a year with those credits so they don't need to take it later on when their schedule gets hectic.. it may mean another year of school but at least their lifestyle can be more balanced.
