Hey, if there was no war, there would be no Call of Duty games. Consider that proposition.
Neither would there be any Ace Combat, Battlefield, Command & Conquer, Disgaea, Fallout, Gears of War, Hearts of Iron, Half-Life, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, StarCraft, Supreme Commander, Valkyria Chronicles, Warcraft, or Warhammer 40,000 games, for that matter. Reconsider that proposition.

Conscription's bullish. :| In times of relative peace, there is really no need for it.
There's always need for that. Otherwise you'll get bombed badly.

Somebody would be creative enough to make them. And somebody would be creative enough to make them reality.

Um, getting bombed with or without conscription means what?

your logic. it makes no sense.

so paranoia makes you build an army. If everyone else follows this logic and builds armies...funnily enough, it causes wars.

Yeah, Australia's been pretty okay with its volunteer services, only ever having true conscription during World War II when our country was actually in danger of being attacked by the Japanese. There was semi-conscription during Korea and Vietnam, but we haven't had anything of the sort for almost the last 40 years. We're still alive, KT; we've been bombed literally once, by the aforementioned Japanese in the aforementioned time of war.

He's the guy that owns WikiLeaks, currently all over Australian media, and probably the rest of the world too. :x

...well, WikiLeaks releases confidential government cables from all over the world and secrets from different countries. It may not be that big in the news wherever, but it IS a controversial issue.
