A teacher being in a consentual relationship with a student, provided the student was like... 17 rather than 11, is hardly the worst thing in the world lol. Maybe not appropriate as far as preferential treatment goes, but there are far worse things people have done. Whenever there is stuff on the news about students getting with teachers I'm like "so? Was she raped?? No? Alright mind your own damn business" lol

Teachers shouldn't be with students because it's a power imbalance and teachers are authority figures. It's way too easy for a teacher to push a student to do something they don't want to do.

To answer some questions about my teacher...

He was in his early 50's at the time, so he was much too old to be doing stuff like that with 12-13 year olds. I remember he would ask the boys in the class (those were who he went after) to help him out doing yard work at his house or cleaning the garage where he kept all his cars. I didn't volunteer for it and now I'm glad I didn't. According to police reports, he committed all his offenses off school property, and apparently used his offer of extra pay for weekend work to find his victims.

He got busted about two or three years after I had him. IIRC, the judge gave him a slap on the wrist - 6 months in jail plus probation. He violated probation in 2003 and get sent back to jail for a year.

Needless to say, he's not a teacher any more. But he is registered as an offender, and to my knowledge still deals in classic car sales. Somehow, he still lives in the same neighborhood where his sick crimes took place.

I've always been curious about consensual student/teacher stuff and how often it happens, because it's something like everyone knows is a thing but I don't know anyone who's been involved in one and I don't know anyone who's talked about anyone being involved in it.

Well apart from particular cases, I think teachers are also very reluctant sometimes to engage in any sort of relationship with a student, even with a minor age difference and consent because it could cost them their job of course, and reputation.

It's way too sticky of a situation. So much could go wrong if word were to get out.

Agreed, it's best to keep away from those situations. You can lose your job, it can become a very public issue very fast as well as a court issue.

Was at my friend's house uhhh and made dinner lol, didn't do much more than that. OH and I watched the first two episodes of Legend of Korra and started rewatching The Last Airbender!!

Nah, but I did all that while lazing around in a recliner at my cousin's house.
Now i'm spending today finishing up my homework.

I spend my weekend working and being constantly tired, stressed and depressed, and that looks like what this weekend will be like too.

I've had a pretty good weekend haha. On Saturday I spent most of the day just hanging out with my girlfriend. It was pretty nice weather so we just chilled on the lawn most of the time... while I did art coursework because I'm reallllly behind in it lol. Hardly romantic but it was still pretty nice. Then I got on PC and Msn for a little while before I went to a friend's house - it was his 18th so we hung around at his for a little while and then we went out to a club which was pretty sweet. I'm amazed I actually got in since I don't look old enough (as anyone who has ever seen a pic of me knows, lol) but I borrowed someone's ID and it was fine. That turned out to be a lot of fun, especially since one of my friends who had a girl coming onto him rejected her. Because he thought they might get married if they did anything. Even kissing. Idek.

Then um I woke up this morning at this friend's house with the worst hangover ever, came back here, got on Msn for a bit and did MORE COURSEWORK YEAHHHHH, and then went to play tennis for the first time in a while. Pretty nice weather again today so it seemed a good idea. And then... just had dinner and now here I am replying to your post.
