Steampunk is gonna be reality in a couple decades. However, it's gonna be a little more sleek, and a lot less keys.

I can't wait for jetpack joyrides.
 
Steampunk won't ever be a real reality because it's doing modern things with old-time technology like gears and steam. ;x
 
Sleek steampunk isn't steampunk. ;o That's like saying "Goth is going to come back, except less black". It's part of what steampunk is, lol.
 
I was looking forward to some creepy movies being on TV tonight but I have been severely let down!


The future is much more likely to be ultaminimalistic, everything will be a uniform shade of gray with as few buttons or defining features as possible.

That might actually be cool, though probably would never happen. People like cars too much. I just want to know if there will be flying cars in the future.

I can just imagine how much the death toll would increase when this happens....
 
I feel like if there were ever flying cars, we're going to see a lot more accidents. Edit: Turn-It beat me to the punch on that one, haha.
I wish I could find a video but I remember seeing a water hoverboard that hovered by using high pressured pumps to suck in the water and pump it back out.

It was incredible.

I think one leads to the other. At least that's what I gather from watching The Simpsons.
 
The future is self-driving cars. We would be able to fit so many more cars on the road because the reaction time would be drastically reduced since a computer is the one reacting.

I'm sure flying will come eventually though haha.

My car actually has and auto-drive feature. It doesn't turn, though, merely just maintains direction and the speed it was at upon activation.

Pretty neat for the highway!
 
I know I'd kill myself without cars. Of course most of today's cars are too tiny for me, but still... The future seems to be full of bland, small cars that are completely disposable...

Well, by 2015 we were supposed to have flying cars... and hoverboards.

But I actually wouldn't mind reverting back to before we had cell phones. Those things irritate me to no end.

quick hypothesis on that. I can see scientist tapping into the other parts of the brains humans can't usually access, thus giving us supernatural abilities, one being able to fly. I would assume it's in a particular gene though. Just a hypothesis... :D

My cell phone is my safety net lol. If I was ever in danger I would be screwed without a mobile phone to call someone for help.

I don't think there actually are parts of the brain that are untapped XD We can't fly not because we can't access that part of our brain, but because...we weren't built to fly. Birds have hollow bones, you know? Kind of like we can't have an exoskeleton because the weight of it relative to the size of our body would just crush us.

telepathy is a powerful thing. Even though i'm going based off of fiction, hehe weak argument already, people can move cars with their minds so lifting their own bodies shouldn't be that hard of a task. I'm also assuming that telepathy is all brain power! :D
