Homework. I have a strong dislike for it. Mostly weekend homework.

1)If you are doing it wrong, you learn it wrong. Bad thing to do.

As for weekends:

It is our time away from school... . We shouldn't have to spend our time worrying about it, you know?

Taking a year off would be beneficial to everyone, imo. That way, you can cool down and let your body relax from eighteen(more or less) years of the same rigorous, mundane lifestyle. Then you can plan out and actually make sure that you know what you want to do and what you want to accomplish.v
I know I'm taking a year off. Probably two.. to raise money so I could even go to college v.v

I'm in a tight spot myself. I want to apply for scholarships and whatnot, but most of them only last for about a year, so I'm worried that by the time that I start college next year, I wouldn't have all of my scholarship money that I want. The good news is, however, that there are scholarships for college students, so I guess I'll start there, I suppose? .___. This whole college stuff is being a major pain, especially the financial aid process, too. It's hard on me due to some confrontation between my parents and whatnot...stuff I really don't want to deal with, etc.

Besides, it's March. Each month, the money that I'm going to get is getting smaller and smaller. I want to make sure that I get the most amount of moeny while attempting to attend college, so I don't know if doing financial aid next year January would be a good idea or not...

Well yeah, in that case, I'd get as many scholarships as you can, and hope for the best. I'm going to have to get a lot of scholarships, so I'm going to be working my ass off until a few years after I get the gown and cap. You know, repay those loans and what not. Crazy thing is, there are scholarships out there for ANYTHING. Even simple things such as having blue eyes, or blond hair. Financial aid is important, esp. if you are poor like me. Milk it for all that you can.

So yeah, sometimes that year break isn't always an option. But if you have it, I'd recommend taking it. Definitely don't jump right into some other big commitment though; you need time to recuperate, be it just the summer break, or maybe just a month or something. That being said, if you questions about colleges, I probably have the answers, or could get them, so don't be afraid to ask.

That's why I want the most that I can and probably apply for it next year. I want to start fresh instead of starting incredibly late. u___u;

Senior year is so expensive...you'd be surprised to see the reactions of the people that were quite flabbergasted because I said that I might not be going to prom...honestly this stuff is way too expensive for me...I'm most likely getting the cap and gown(which by now, is about $75 or probably even more), and that's pretty much it...all this other senior stuff(like field trips, etc) which is like...$150 or more is really too much. .__.;

i almost didn't go to prom too because of all the expensive senior stuff. our prom was pretty cheap, tickets were less than $50 which i heard from my teachers was a pretty good deal. but it was all the other stuff, there was a field trip to disney land with all the seniors in our school county. i had to borrow some money to get that. and i didn't pay for the gown and cap till a few days before the deadline. it really was annoying.

We don't have prom here, but we had a ball which wasn't too expensive, plus the parents paid because they get to go and it is a massive social event for the parents too!

I am in my freshman year n_n.

I come from a smaller school, so most of my costs are probably cheaper than you bigger city folk. But still, it is pretty expensive. My senior friends complain about the prices all the time. I hope that when I get to that year, I can either make enough money, or we can do something not as expensive.

Still though, some things I think are just pointless. Like class rings. I don't see the point, really, for having one. Except for maybe having a unique piece of jewelry that signifies something important(graduation, usually...). But it isn't a necessity, and I would much rather go on a trip to Disney land, or Cancun or something than spend money on a ring -__-

Australia doesn't have all these crazy traditions and rituals and stuff like you Americans... :P

You might want to count yourself lucky on that one. It can pretty hetic, and some of these... "traditions" are just rather quite silly.

Class rings? Never heard of 'em. :x We don't have those here but they sound a little pointless to me haha. I remember my high school years most with my yearbooks.

Sure we do! My school had them, anyway, but they aren't nearly as big a deal as some of my American friends made them out to be. :/ We'd just get someone sitting outside the caf with a catalogue that you could order from. Not all were stamped/ingrained/whatever'd with the class year, though, some were like... Maple Leafs rings, birthstone, etc.

^ My school never had them. I never knew class rings were a thing until... right now. XD; Guess it depends on the school.

Jostens. That is the name of the company who does it. >.> I think.

But yeah, it would just be pretty pointless.

I never went to my prom because of the absurd prices, and I live in a small-ish town and went to a small-ish high school. Granted, we're not that far from a bunch of upscale and ritzy places in bigger towns and cities nearby, so that probably had something to do with the high prices.

I avoided a class ring because it cost a lot of money to get one that I would've liked. As it stood, my Yearbooks were $65 a year my junior and senior years anyways because they did them all in color, as opposed to just a select few pages in color like my freshman and sophomore years, when they were $50 apiece.

Everything senior year seems to be so expensive, honestly. .___.; With college, and cap and gowns and stuff in mind, all the senior activities just seem so insignificant, even for memorie's sake.

:( Sleeping 20 hours due to a cold is better than being up all night unable to sleep because of one! But I hope you feel better. Colds suck and it sounds like you have a bad one. ;_;

I have never purchased a yearbook, ever. The only one I intend to get is one in my senior year. Still, I don't think the initial prize was ever over $50. You could like your name emblazoned onto the cover for a few extra dollars or something.

I'm not one for social events and the like, no matter "fantastic" they are supposed to do. It could be because of my small school, but they never are too glamorous.

Oh, but yeah. I had the stomach flu, and I was so tired -___-. I couldn't sleep, not at all. I stayed up for like forever days. I couldn't lay down. The moment I did, I spewed chunks. Or in most cases, dry-heaved.
