The original type match-ups in Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow created an unstoppable force with the Psychic type.[7] Ghost-type and Bug-type Pokémon were effective against Psychic-type Pokémon, but in theory only. In practice, the only Ghost-type attacks that caused damage were the low powered Lick move, which in actuality had no effect on Psychic-types, and Night Shade, which causes damage equivalent to the user's level, regardless of the defending Pokémon's type. In addition, during this period there were very few significantly damaging Bug-type attacks. Furthermore, Psychic-type attacks were actually super-effective against many of the Bug-type Pokémon (like Beedrill) as well as the three Ghost-type Pokémon (Gastly, Haunter and Gengar) that existed at the time, since these Pokémon have a secondary Poison-type, which is weak to Psychic-type attacks.

Yes I accidentally quoted you. I'm just wondering.

xD, I think bugs should be tougher, the only good one is Herracross

What about Scyther?

I have always found that to be a good one to use. Especially if you have sword dance on it.

Haven't managed to get Vespiquen yet. how good is it.

Scizor is Bug/Steel.

I use it because I can't get my hands on a Scizor, and most people use psychic types so It comes in handy.

I like Scizor because of it's speed and high attack. The Syther I am using at the minute I haven't been able to EV train yet. So it isn't as strong as it could be.

I have only Ev trained my Jolteon. I did it in speed and special attack. with the rest added to special defense. I find EV training to be very useful. You can get Pokemon that are a lot stronger than they normally would be.

I tried, but got board really quick.

My Gyarados Attack is currently higher then its HP right now, so yeah EV training is good.

Its mostly lightning types that just beg to be speed trained.

like Jolteon and Pikachu.

Speed training is by far the best for Lighting types and also special attack for some like Jolteon.

Also Espion is good for Ev training in speed and special attack.
