  • Since I had to reformat my computer, all my precious Shoddy Teams were lost, so I'm making new ones, any and all help appreciated :)

    Bronzong@Damp Rock
    Impish Nature
    252 HP/ 128 Atk/ 128 Def
    Levitate
    ~Rain Dance
    ~Explosion
    ~Stealth Rock
    ~Hypnosis

I used this over Qwilfish because Sash gets broken with all the stream leads these days.

    Scizor@Life Orb
    Adamant Nature
    32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 SPe
    Technician
    ~Bullet Punch
    ~Quick Attack
    ~Superpower
    ~Swords Dance

Standard SD Scizor, Quick Attack for thing Bullet Punch can't handle

    Kingdra@Life Orb
    Adamant Nature
    180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe
    Swift Swim
    ~Dragon Dance
    ~Waterfall
    ~Outrage
    ~Hydro Pump

Rain + DDance allows stupendous sweep potential, took EVs from Double Dance Kingdra

    Swampert@Leftovers
    Relaxed Nature
    240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA
    Torrent
    ~Earthquake
    ~Ice Beam
    ~Hydro Pump
    ~Stealth Rock

Sets up rocks, this guy could cause problems witha STABed Hydro Pump, EQ + Ice Beam add more coverage.

    Gengar@Choice Scarf
    Timid Nature
    4 HP / 252 Spe / 252 SpA
    Levitate
    ~HP Ice
    ~Thunderbolt
    ~Focus Blast
    ~Shadow Ball

    Revenge Killer/Gyarados answer

    Ludicolo@Damp Rock
    Modest Nature
    4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Swift Swim
    ~Hydro Pump
    ~Grass Knot
    ~Ice Beam
    ~Rain Dance

WHAT?! A Ludicolo that isn't a wall? That's right folks, in the rain this is pretty viable, Hydro Pump is great STAB, Grass Knot hits bulky pokes, Ice Beam for extra coverage.

There you have it, my Rain Dance team, probably needs a lot of help, so I'll be grateful for any given.

"If Gyarados gets in a Dragon Dance, you are 6-0'd"

And no, zapdos is an horiffic counter to it, since it gets OHKO'd by a boosted stone edge or ice fang with a Life orb.

Needs more Thunderpunch >> Ice Punch on zangoose so you can revenge it.

Ill come back later if i spot anything else.

  • K, I changed to Thunderpunch on Zangoose,
but are there any Gyara counters that could run on this team?

Also, are there any better rain starters than Floatzel?
    EV's/Set Please

  • Go Bronzong:

    Bronzong @ Damp Rock
    Impish
    252 HP, 128 Attack, 128 Defense
    -Rain Dance
    -Explosion
    -Stealth Rock
    -Hypnosis

    >> Floatzel for a Rain starter.

    You could also try Qwilfish:

    Qwilfish @ Focus Sash
    Swift Swim
    Adamant
252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP (unsure on this)
    -Rain Dance
    -Explosion
    -Waterfall
    -Poison Jab / Taunt

The choice is up to you: a more powerful and much faster Explosion, or longer downpour. Your choice.

And I know you like Zangoose, but Gengar is better at handling Gyarados.

Gengar @ Choice Scarf / Life Orb
    Timid
    4 HP, 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack
    -Focus Blast
    -Shadow Ball
    -Thunderbolt
    -HP Ice

If this is WiFi, go Hasty > Timid and Explosion > HP Ice.

Just to clarify the above, only with a scarf can Gengar handle revenge Gyarados since its outsped and OHKO'd after a DD otherwise.

  • why are you adding atk evs to a bronzong set that has explosion as its only form of attack? ._.

Because 89 base Attack isn't enough to KO some Pokemon with Explosion, so the Attack EV's are there to ensure the KO's on certain pokes.

BTW, Quick Attack is eww on Scizor. X-Scissor > it.

  • and exactly what kind of pokemon are we talking about that would need the complete 128 evs to go from a non-KO to a KO a majority of the time?

bulkyDos? blissey? gliscor? who are common rain bronzong checks?
