    Imagine this.
You're in the shower, just relaxing in the water thinking about your day. Or perhaps you're trying not to scream because you cut yourself shaving and the water had run across the wound. Then you hear a familiar sound coming from across the room. Knock, knock. Crap. You hear someone call to you, asking, possibly begging, to use the restroom. Maybe it's your younger sibling. Or even your cousin or parents. Whoever it is, you don't answer them, hoping that they'll believe you didn't hear them on the supposition that they'll leave you alone. Lamentably, you hear that noise again. Knock, knock, knock. Damn, now they've knocked harder. You allow the intruder in and said person sits, or stands, getting the business finished. You tell the person not to flush, but it's too late. The toilet flushes and you stand there, scared of what's about to come. In desperation, you try to scramble away, but the hot water scalds you.
Tl;dr; has someone ever flushed the toilet on you while you were showering?

No, since I'm always the person flushing the toilet, just to be a jerk. Mwahaha. My friends should utilize the lock on the bathroom door more often.

With me, when someone else runs the water in my shower, the water trickles down much colder and in much less force. It's a tiny stream compared to the usual torrent of water =[

I hate it. I'M SHOWERING FFS, HAVE SOME DECENCY. >:V

It happens all the time in college. What's even better is the water gets insanely cold right afterwords. It's like it's trying to compensate for burning your ass off by freezing it back on.

omg, I was reading this and thought the question would have been: "So, did you ever run into someone taking a shower and thought it was hot?! ^__^" and wondered why it wasn't locked. :B

Uhmm... I can't remember. I usually can't tell if its too hot or not because as my time goes in the shower, the water gets colder and colder, so I make it hotter and hotter manually. My shower usually ends JUST before I get it to the H. :(

ANYWAY: No. I never let anyone in the bathroom when I'm taking a shower in the first place. :/

No, because it works like this in my house.

"Hey can I come in? I need the toilet"
    "No I'm in the shower"
    "But I'm gonna piss myself"
"Tough luck. Theres the great outdoors over there"
    "Dude! No!"
    "Then wait until I'm done"

It used to happen with the old bathrooms, but now that they're redone that never happens anymore.

No, since our bathroom is small, you can sit in the toilet while still being showered.

Okay. I live in a dorm with a bathroom that's shared by about 7 others. We've been instructed by our Resident Assistant to close the door to the bathroom when showering. So of course I do that. But guess what? Somebody always comes in (cause these doors don't lock) and do anything from go to the bathroom to brush their teeth while you're in there. Oddly enough, flushing seems not to affect the water temperature that much. But having people barge in is still annoying as heck, even without the temperature changes :/

I think that happened to me today since suddenly the water got really hot while I was showering. >:( But it was already really hotter than normal today for some reason (I honestly could not get it to a decent temperature when I stepped in, haha) so I didn't notice too much of a difference. Luckily.

You mean in a personal bathroom? i live in college dorms, and it's a shared bathroom, so that happens all the time.

Also, i'm getting a toilet paper ad right here as i'm typing this.

The toilet in my house is in a separate room to the shower but the flushing still does the job. Also it gets really hot right after a flush and then insanely cold. Then I always try to adjust the temperature but the flushing changes the water temperature like 5 times.

Yeah, this doesn't really happen to me because of three reasons. The first is that if I am in the shower then nobody else is in the bathroom or can come into the bathroom. Second is that if somebody wanted to use the toilet they would just use the one in the other room seeing I'm in the shower. The third reason is I tried it once just to see if it worked, I flushed the toilet and ran to the shower and the water didn't change temperature at all.

    I can't remember the last shower I had where a family member didn't turn on the taps downstairs and thus dowse me in a stream of ice-coldliness. D; Once I got so mad that I went storming down the stairs in a towel screaming that all of the water pipes in the house are connected, you bloody idiots...and found my grandparents in the kitchen having a cup of tea with my Dad. Who at least had the decency to look embarrassed. >.>;

    Oops.

My family respects each others privacy. :B Besides, we have two other bathrooms, so they can just use one of those.

This is exactly why I shall be applying for ensuite rooms when I make my university choices. v.v

I always lock the door when I'm showering, and if the time comes when I don't, no one barges in. Besides, people can use the other toilet in our house when they're actually busting. >:3

Oh my, you don't even know. My whole water system is connected in my house. So if there's laundry being done, I'll feel it. If my mother washes vegetables in the kitchen sink, I'll feel it. And then there are the toilets of doom. I can only escape the heat when I take morning showers. D:

I always know when the water is about to get hot because the pressure severely decreases (so less water comes out). That saves me from getting burned. But there are times where I've actually been burned by the shower when the water pressure stays the same. It's not pleasant. At all. :/

It never bothers me when people flush while I'm in the shower. :/ It doesn't get hot enough to bug me. But my dad will freaking YELL at someone for using the water when he's in the shower. So I dunno, but I always let people flush when I'm in there.
