After hopping on the bus, Jake instantly called out his Eevee for some bonding time. It still hadn't been used in any battle, and Jake wanted to learn about it before battling with it.

"Vee!"

"So I can see your are a happy Pokémon at least, what else do you have?" Jake asked Eevee.

First things off, Eevee started nuzzling Jake's neck, in a way that it thought it was his parent. It then followed it by using a Tackle attack on Jake's stomach. He was forced into the bus wall, and he bounced right back up.

"First off Aether: I'm not your daddy. Some other Eevee or one of its evolutions is. Do what you want, just get that through your tiny, adorable skull. Second: for a little fuzzball, you actually have some decent power, which I wasn't expecting at all. This I can work with."

"Ee!! Eevee!!" Aether said happily.

After four hours of traveling, the bus announcer told him that there were about another 6 hours to go. Jake took advantage of this time to bring out Hypnotic and Tactical: After all, they haven't really seen Eevee much at this point."

"Poli!" "Ran! Nido!"

Tactical instantly hopped onto Hypnotic's head, and Aether gave Jake a funny look, although it seemed to give a human equivalent of a giggle at the same time.

"Yeah, I don't get it either..."

After stating this, Hypnotic shot a few small bubbles at Jake's face.

"Yeah yeah yeah, you made your point!"

After another hour, Jake got really bored, and his Pokémon were too.

"How about a little practice with Aether?"

All three shouted happily in unison at the idea: Anything that WASN'T sitting around any longer. After all, it was a pretty big bus, and what harm would come of it?

"Alright, Hypnotic Pound and Tactical Horn Attack. You dodge them both Aether." Jake commanded.

Tactical and Hypnotic came out a high speed, but Aether jumped right out of the way, and doged it with fluidity.

"...Wow...didn't expect that much...Bubble and Poison Sting now. Aether dodge with a Quick Attack, then land a light hit on them."

The Bubble and Poison stings flew quickly at Aether, but it dodged on a bullet via Quick Attack, and hit both Hypnotic and Tactical in the back! And we were all shocked by how fast it zipped around them

"I think that's enough...return you guys." Jake said as red beams shot from their Pokéballs. Anyways, they had arrived at Mt. Moon.

Mt. Moon was already pretty dark at 6:00 PM. The mountains climbed out of sight, the textures were rough, and there were a few hikers attempting to climb their ways over the mountain.

Good luck with that...

After stepping foot off the bus, the first thing Jake did was run to the Pokémon Center to register with Nurse Joy. She had at least seven Chanseys running around with her, and he finally caught her at her desk, free from any work.

"Excuse me Nurse Joy, but I would like to register for the tournament."

"Of course you can! I just need to see a gym badge, as well as your Pokédex and three Pokémon."

Sketchy...

"Here you go...I guess."

"Don't worry about it. The badge is a requirement, your Pokédex is just to show you are a registered training, and I just want to give your Pokémon a quick healing."

"Sounds good."

Five minutes later, Nurse Joy turned back to Jake and said, "Alright, you have passed all of our tests, and you are officially registered for the tournament. Your Eevee, Poliwag, and Nidoran are all set as well. What you have to do now is choose a Pokémon to use in the first round match-ups."

Jake whispered Nurse Joy his choice, as he didn't want anyone to have the slightest advantage over him. He thanked Nurse Joy, and started off.

"Wait Jake, I almost forgot! Here is your card key which grants you access to all of our facilities, and a wristband to show the guards so you face no trouble."

"Thank you Nurse Joy, I think I'm going to head outside for a little while."

Jake stepped outside, and saw all of the trainers running around outside. They were showing off gym badges, flaunting their skills, and having skirmish matches.

Jake walked out into the grass and looked around a bit. After taking in the fresh air, Jake headed into his hotel room. He had had enough that day, and he just needed to rest. His gym battle, his journey over, it had been stressful. After letting all of his Pokémon out of their Pokéballs and onto his bed, he looked at the moon outside, and drifted off to sleep.

END OF DAY 6

Slowly, the Pokeball stopped and fell still with a small pinging noise. Farran had caught the Meowth! While he celebrated, Orion ran over to the ball and picked it up, running back to his Trainer and presenting the prize.

"Alright… I've got my plan now," said Farran, nodding wisely. "It's interesting that I have a lot of Normal types on my team… well, tomorrow will be interesting if my strategy works." Calling Orion back to his shoulders, he turned back from the wild area and back to the main bulding, and sprinted off.

The sky was just beginning to get dark as he reached the glass doors, and once inside, he ran to Nurse Joy, patiently working at the reception counter. She noticed his presence, and rose to greet him.

"I suppose you're ready now to register your Pokemon lineup?"

"Yeah, I just had to catch a Pokemon that happened to come across. But I have my plan down now." He leaned forward to whisper his lineup, and once he was done, Nurse Joy nodded and typed the information into the database.

"Thank you very much. Now that you are fully entered, here is a card and a wristband. The card allows you access anywhere in the building, and the band shows the guards that you are a valid competitor. Your room number is on the card as well. Have a good rest of your day!"

She beamed as Farran took the items, thanked her, and went upstairs in the building to his room. When he got inside, he plopped down onto a small couch and picked up the Pokeball that housed his new Meowth.

"Well, if I'm going to use you, I'd better see what you can do. Come out!"

With a meow, the new Meowth appeared at his side, rubbing its face with its paws contentedly. Orion jumped off his shoulders to greet the new Pokemon, and they studied each other for a bit before chasing each other around the room.

"Haha, hey, calm down guys!" Farran stifled a laugh as his Pokemon ran over the bed and tables, almost knocking down items in the room. They really like to play around, he thought, but it's interesting… this new Meowth is quite fast, maybe even faster than Orion?

He pulled out his Pokedex and scanned his Meowth, and found that it knew Scratch, Bite, Growl, and Fury Swipes. Satisfied after studying it for a while, Farran called over to his Pokemon. They stopped the grand chase and scampered towards him expectantly.

"Listen up guys, tomorrow's the big day. You're going to be a part of this tournament, and we're going to show the Trainers out there that we are not to be taken lightly." Orion and Meowth both growled/meowed in unison. Farran turned to focus his attention on his newest recruit. "The other Pokemon on the tream have shown me what they can do, but as for you, it's going to be your debut. So no pulling any punches, so to speak, okay? I want you to go all out." Meowth purred and extended her claws, examining them with an almost sly gaze.

A glance out the window told Farran that it was nighttime, and he felt the growing clouds of fatigue envelop him. He had slept on the bus, but he still was very tired. I guess I'm not used to traveling so much, he thought. Well, I'd better get all the rest I can so I can think clearly tomorrow.

"Alright, rest for tonight. We'll be going strong tomorrow." Recalling both of his Pokemon back inside their Pokeballs, he slumped into his bed and fell fast asleep, with dreams of battle and glory dancing in his mind.

He couldn't wait for the battles ahead.

THE TOURNAMENT IS ABOUT TO BEGIN...
[PokeCommunity.com] Dark Pokemon Energy / Road to the Pokemon League

Day 7 Startup:

The stadium is roaring. It's quarter to 9 and all the trainers have assembled in the stadium. Looking on, a battle can already be seen. It's brock and bruno's steelix battling eachother. The crowd roars as Bruno's steelix sends Brock's flying across the other side of the stadium, into the ice and water section and crashing into the water. Brock returns his pokemon.

Pokemon trainers are only allowed three pokemon into the arena. All other pokemon have been removed by nurse joy and taken for storage.
Pokemon are only allowed to be out of their pokeballs during battles unless otherwise noted, so all pokemon are currently inside them.

"Incredible!" Brock smiled to his friend Bruno, who also returned his steelix. They had clearly decided that disguising brock was no longer necessary and decided to display their immense power infront of the fans instead. The fans went crazy as all of the pokemon trainers walked into the center of the stadium following Ranger bill.

Standing inbetween the four different elements of the stadium, the trainers had the chance to take a look at their battling arenas. Taking in the sights of the four different battling zones, some trainers smiled when they knew they'd gain an advantage because of certain areas.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Your trainers for today!" The announcers voice rang from the speakers around the stadium. The fans were cheering and chanting different names. Ant, Jess, Gav and Shelby's names could be heard above the rest. As the fans chanting died down, some trainers were discussing things to eachother and some looked very nervous. Some could be seen with excitement on their faces.

"In a moment, the stadium will be seperate into its four sections. So fans, I hope you're seated in the correct arena for round 1! It's about to begin!"
Bill, Brock and Bruno walked the trainers to the side as the stadium began to shift slightly. Walls appeared, seperating the four different battle areas.

"Alright. First off could I ask the following trainers to Approach the Grass arena.
Malekaii and Mijaan!

A few fans cheered at the names, but nothing major.

...And to the rock arena.
Nova and JB!

A few fans cheered at the names, but nothing major.

At the water arena,
Elliot is scheduled to battle Nat!

Boo's were heard as their names were announced.

And over at the fire Arena we will see
Lola against the formidable Shelby!"
The crowd roared and chanted shelby's name. Many of them moved over to where the fire arena's battle would take place.
As the trainers were announced, they began to move to their designated zones.

Some trainers who were to fight in that zone followed suit to watch the trainers use the arena, and some other trainers went elsewhere to watch their friends battle.
And as soon as the clock ticked 9...

"One on one pokemon battle Begin!"

The referee for each zone reminded the players of the one on one rules and lifted up a flag to signal the battle had started.
The tournament had begun...

DAY 7

BATTLE 1:

GO!

BATTLE 2:

If your battle is labeled 'Battle 2'
Please Wait before posting your battle...

Mijaan stepped up to the designated trainer platform in the grassy stadium and looked across at his opponent. He looked slightly taller than him and rather smarter. The referee smiled at the two trainers and reminded them both of the rules.

"1 pokemon only. If it is defeated you're eliminted from the tournament! It's all or nothing!" He said and with that he lifted his flag. The battle would start. Fans cheered as Malekaii's Raticate appeared from it's pokeball, it screeched and looked around.

"King!" Mij shouted as he lifted up a pokeball, he threw it out into the grass. "GO!"

King and Raticate stared off for a while, but it didnt take long for Malekaii to make his move. He signaled something to Raticate who with lightning speed shot from it's spot and smashed straight into King with extreme speed. King was knocked off his feet and hit the ground in pain. The crowd gasped as King began to climb back to its feet, Raticate came charging in with a powerful Flame Wheel attack.

"Flame wheel?" Mijaans eyes widened. He gripped his fist tightly as King was struck back down, the flames dispersed and Raticate was crouched ready to leap into the air.

"King, in the air!" Mij shouted and king leaped to his feet. Launching into the air, he was above raticate and the large rat-like pokemon was rather confused by this. King slowly tipped his head down and smacked Raticate in the face with a Peck attack. Raticate was knocked back some and king was now standing behind his opponent. As the rat turned around, King smashed it in the face with a tackle attack.

"Nice work King!" Mij yelled. "Now focus yourself!" he smirked as his pokemon began to glow.

"Not a chance! Raticate use your speed!" Malekaii called out and his rat pokemon launched himself into King again, knocking the nidorino back quite a distance. King looked slightly shaken up by the attack but wasnt about to show any sign of weakness, He began to focus himself once more.
"Again Raticate!" Malekaii called out. His pokemon, as commanded, shot towards king, who anticipated the attack this time and lowered his head. Taking the impact on his horn.
"RAAAAAT!"Raticate shot back a fair distance and seemed in alot of agony.

"King!" Mij said. "Follow it up with your Horn Drill!" And he did just that. Leaping into the air, King shot down at Raticate with his horn whirling like a powerful drill. Raticate managed to leap out of the way in time and King smashed into the ground digging up mud and earth. Eventually he climbed from the hole of earth and lowered his horn at raticate.

"Attacking from the front is useless Raticate!" Malekaii sighed. "Give him a shot to the side!"

As raticate took off towards King, the nidorino stepped back in anticipation and suddenly the rat pokemon was infront of him again. He drilled his horn deep into the side of the raticate and it flew straight to the other side of the stadium, smashing into the wall.

After the dust cloud settled, Raticate was defeated. The panting King was clearly the winner in this battle and the referee raised his flag.

"Raticate is unable to battle!" The referee shouted. "Victory goes to Mijaan and King the Nidorino!"

The two trainers returned their pokemon. After shaking hands, mijaan spoke a few words.

"I was impressed with your raticate's speed. Although you should really consider some of your moves before using them."

"Your Nidorino is strong and fast! A nice combination." Malekaii said as the two trainers approached the referee. Mijaan was handed a small silver coin, with a picture of clefairy on it, they were lead from the arena by the referee and battle 2 of round 1 in the grass arena was soon to begin. Mij saw that it was jess who would be battling and decided to stick around to see how she did.

OOC: short post, will be extended later. just so royal can get her post done when the other 3 have posted.

The next day, Shelby woke up with a wide yawn. She had set her alarm just in time to get to the stadium, so as soon as it rang; she sprang out of the bed. She quickly got dressed in new clothes and practically jogged to the stadium. Shelby had been anticipating this for a long time, and she couldn't wait to show everyone that she could be strong.

Once everything had been set up, Shelby walked with the others to her arena. She glanced at Lola, vaguely remembering the previous battle she had experienced with her. That bit of knowledge could help me, Shelby thought. She remembered Wartortle and Raichu but that was all of the Pokémon she knew Lola had. She turned to the fire area, and gasped when she saw all of the people there. I really, really hope I don't screw this up, she thought, growing slightly nervous. Then she remembered that her feelings could affect her Pokémon, so she tried to be as confident as possible.

As soon as Shelby set foot into the fire area, she began to sweat lightly. She could feel the heat coming up from the ground and saw the massive fiery torches. There were also rocks and boulders on the ground. Sunlight was beaming directly to the ground, making it seem even hotter. Shelby thought this would have been a perfect battle for Quilava. She let out a breath and then moved to where they told her to be. Lola went to the opposite side, and they stood and faced each other. Shelby grabbed a pokeball from her belt and turned it around in her fingers.

"This is a one on one battle, let the match…begin!" the referee called, waving down one of the flags in his hand.

"Go!" Shelby shouted, chucking the pokeball in her hand. Lola did the same. In two flashes of light, two very different Pokémon appeared on the stadium floor. One looked like a large mouse while the other looked like a giant purple dinosaur with armor. Nidoking roared and scraped the rocky ground with his foot. Raichu roared as well, small sparks coming off of its cheeks. Shelby was hit with such a sudden feeling of déjà vu. It was just like the battle from back when Nidoking had been a Nidorino and her Raichu was a Pikachu. Shelby smiled slightly. The fans roared their approval, and Shelby looked up curiously.

"Raichu, give him a thunderbolt!" Lola shouted.

"ROOOOAAAAI!" Raichu shouted. The small Pokémon's body began to glow with yellow electric energy. Suddenly it got released, slamming into the boulders and the walls, slicing them open. Nidoking shielded himself with his tough arms, and Shelby watched as the attack basically reflected off of him. Lola clenched her teeth and looked a bit startled at this.

"Nidoking is part ground so it's not going to work," Shelby called over to Lola. "Nidoking, use dig now!" Shelby shouted. Lola looked shocked. She knew that things were going bad for her, and that it was happening rather quickly. Raichu was looking around, frantically trying to find Nidoking. The ground was shaking because he was thrashing so Raichu wouldn't know where he was. "Now!" Shelby shouted. Nidoking slammed up from the ground, directly underneath Raichu. Raichu cried out as it hit the floor, skidding against it painfully.

"Raichu!" Lola cried out. She clenched her fists into tight balls and glared heavily at Nidoking. Shelby stayed quiet as she mapped out the situation. All Raichu could really do were physical attacks, so if she could just stop those… "Raichu get in there with a body slam!" Lola called. Raichu picked itself up off the floor and charged at Nidoking. Nidoking stood, ready to take the attack.

"You can take it, Nidoking!" Shelby called. She hoped what she was expecting would happen. That would almost ensure victory.

As Raichu quickly approached Nidoking, it leapt up in the air. The fans gasped and some leapt out of their seats. Raichu came slamming down upon Nidoking, but it landed directly on the sharp horn. Shelby smiled a bit as when Raichu got off, she noticed that it had a wound on its side that looked purple. Lola groaned and stomped her foot upon seeing the wound. Shelby ordered a horn attack, ready to finish the battle. Nidoking roared and charged at Raichu dead on. Raichu twitched and tried to move away, but it stumbled as it did.

"No! Raichu!" Lola shouted. She didn't want to lose this fast in the tournament. "Raichu, hurry up and use thunder!" Lola shouted, attempting to make it do something that might turn the tides.

"R-ROAI!" Raichu called, summoning energy from the atmosphere. Electricity bundled in his cheeks until it exploded in an even larger attack. The thunder slammed into the stadium once more, but it completely reflected off Nidoking. Shelby shook her head, and then watched as Nidoking's horn slammed into Raichu, knocking it against one of the massive boulders. Raichu slumped and was out.

It was quiet for a few moments. Then the referee called the match. Shelby had won. The fans burst into a loud noise of cheers, while some booed slightly. Shelby blinked and then looked at Nidoking. A grin broke out on her face as Nidoking stomped up to her. She leapt at the large Pokémon and attempted to get her arms around his large neck. She laughed as Nidoking roared his triumph to the crowd who were applauding. She rubbed Nidoking's snout and smiled widely at him.

"You did amazingly, buddy," Shelby said. Nidoking gave her a happy look and said its name. I can't believe it, Shelby thought. She stepped back from Nidoking and then walked around the boiling stage to where Lola was standing. She was frowning and looked a little pouty. "Raichu was great," Shelby said lightly, trying to make her feel better. "You probably would've won against a lot of other Pokémon."

Lola frowned a little bit more, and then smiled slightly. "You think?"

"Totally!" Shelby grinned. Then she stuck out her hand. "Nice battle?" she asked, making it a question instead of a statement. Lola smiled and nodded, shaking her hand. The crowd cheered loudly once more. Once they let go, the referee stepped in and handed Shelby a token. It was a small silver token with a Clefairy on it. Shelby clutched it tightly in her hand. Then she carefully took out her badge case and slipped it in one of the spare pockets. Shelby recalled Nidoking. The referee congratulated her and then led both of them off the arena.

Once Nova and Elliot have done their battles...

the other 4 can post :)

- Day 7 Start –

Elliot got up early the next morning. Rubbing his eyes, he noticed his Pokémon were still fast asleep. He was really proud of them, he wouldn't have gotten this far, if it wasn't for them, and he loved them for that. He missed his parents, and knew that once his Pokémon would become much stronger that he could go looking for them. But today was a big day, it was the beginning of the tournament, and Elliot was yearning to win. He dressed and finally decided to wake his Pokémon up. One by one he nudged them softly (or in Lentus' case pushed) to awaken them. As soon as they realized what day it was, they suddenly got excited.

They left the room, to be outdoors, when having a decently sized breakfast. Elliot decided to have some of the oatmeal he had been carrying for a change; knowing this would get give him plenty of energy for today's battle. When he was done he saw that it was nearly time to make his way to the arena. He did not know either, who he would be facing off against.

He made his way down to the arena, and went up to the guard who was outside of the competitor's entrance. He produced his card and wristband for good measure.

"Okay this looks to be all good," He said. "Although your Pokémon are required to be in their Pokeballs, unless if in battle."

"Oh..." Elliot said disappointedly. It had been a while since he had used his Pokeballs, and this would even be Iggy's first time in one. Turning to them he concluded "You guys don't mind I hope, I guess it's the only way we can compete."

All three of them, didn't seem to mind, but Elliot figured they would not have liked it much. Nonetheless he was now allowed to pass, once he retracted all three of his Pokémon to their Pokeballs. Inside the competitors area, was a lounge area for those waiting, as well, there was a Pokémon centre nearby. He knew that from a good rest, his Pokémon were fine, so he decided to look for the listings, to see where and who he would be matched up with. He found his name listed under the water/ice battlefield as the first person to go. He traced his finger to his opponent; the person's name was Nat.

Elliot realized he could use the water to his advantage for Toni; he attempted to formulate a plan in his head, before the battle would begin. Finally, just before 9am, he heard the announcement for all first round trainers to head to their designated arena. Elliot got up from his seat, slightly giddy but still focused. He proceeded through the tunnel and seeing other trainers as he walked on, followed the signs to the ice/water arena.

As he entered he felt a sudden chill, and zipped up his small jacket. He looked around, above there was a roof, perhaps to prevent the ice from melting and around he saw a good number of seats filled. Though plenty were also empty, which Elliot figured people wanted to see the other trainers of the other arenas.

"We'll give them a show worth watching." Elliot resolved. He walked to one end of the arena, covered in ice, while doing so, taking note of his surroundings. There were some independent ice blocks within the open water area. Even the open water area was on one side of the arena, which somewhat forced the Pokémon to start on the other. As he walked to one side of the battlefield he heard a bit of jeering and booing from the crowd. Elliot pretended this wasn't directed to him, but he really didn't know, nor did he care.

Finally his opponent entered the arena. To Elliot's relief the crowd also booed to her entrance.

"Well at least we're both starting at the bottom." Elliot thought.

The girl that had just entered had black hair and black clothes; she looked quite taller, as she was probably in her 20s. She filed to her end of the arena, and appeared to give a sneer to the crowd's reaction. Once they were ready, the referee seemed to appear out of nowhere and spoke into his mouthpiece mic.

"Welcome ladies and gentleman to the first round of the ice arena. On one side we have Nat, and on the other side we have Elliot. I'd now like everyone to focus their attention on the board, as the Trainer's Pokémon will be revealed." The referee said, pointing at the board.

On it, Elliot saw a picture of himself, and Nat, below their picture; he saw the 3 pictures of his Pokémon, and 3 pictures of the other trainer's Pokémon. Elliot recognized two of them immediately, one being Dratini, and the other Umbreon. However, he could not recall the name of the other ((Sableye)), but he knew it too was a dark Pokémon. This surprised Elliot.

"She's definitley a dark trainer, maybe she is even one of those dark trainers everyone is concerned about," Elliot thought. "Well I'll show her who she is dealing with whatever she is!"

Elliot was brought out of his reverie when the referee was continuing.

"As this is a one on one battle, each trainer has already pre-selected their Pokémon for this battle." As the Referee said this, the picture of Toni under Elliot's own photo lit up, as did Nat's photo of his Umbreon.

"I guess that's who you're facing Toni." Elliot said to his Pokemon.

"Okay trainers, abide by the rules, and now let your Pokémon, and then I will give the signal to start." The referee said.

Elliot threw Toni's ball in the air, and out came Toni.

As though to show off, it cried out "PIKA-CHU!" Followed up by a short dance on the spot.

"All right Toni" Elliot cried out, throwing his fist in the air.

At the same time, Nat sent out her Pokémon. Throwing the Pokeball in the air, Umbreon was sent out.

"Umbreon!" It cried.

"No mercy, Umby!" Nat yelled.

"And let the battle begin!" The referee said, as soon as both sides were ready, waving his flag down.

"Umby, use faint attack!" She yelled immediately.

"Toni, use thundershock!" Elliot called, at the same time.

But the Umbreon appeared to be too fast, or rather its move, as no sooner it had attacked and sent Toni flying to the other portion of the iced arena.

"Woah that's a crazy attack." Elliot thought.

"Again!" Nat yelled.

Slightly in urgency. He called to Toni. "Use Double team to confuse it!" Elliot called.

Again the Umbreon hit Toni, sending it now flying towards the edge of the ice, not at all affected by Toni's double team move.

"Grrr! That attack is too good; I've got to figure something else." Elliot thought.

"Toni! Use iron tail on it before it can attack again!"

Toni jumped in the air, its tail alight; it was heading straight towards the Umbreon.

"Umby dodge, now!" Nat yelled.

The Umbreon easily scampered out of the way, leaving Toni, falling towards the ice, its tail still alight. When it hit the ground, a resounding crack could be heard, as Toni still hit its attack on the ice.

"Oh no you don't! Nat yelled. "Use confuse ray!"

"Dodge and use thundershock." Elliot called.

The confuse ray attack missed Toni and before it could attempt to counter Toni's move, Toni followed up with a thundershock, hitting the Umbreon straight on.

"I'M NOT PLAYING ANYMORE!" She yelled. "Umby use faint attack again!"

Toni had no chance to evade the attack, and again was hit, this time Toni fell in the water, wading towards one of the iced islands to attempt to grab a hold of something.

"It's okay Toni, you're doing great, use quick attack once you're up." Elliot called.

But just as Toni was getting on the ice block, Nat had already called her next Pokémon's move.

"Use confuse ray now!" She yelled.

It hit Toni, who immediately began to scramble on the icy ground, looking confused.

"Toni, snap out of it, and use thundershock." Elliot called.

Toni began to use thundershock, but in its confusion shot the thundershock in several directions, even hitting itself in the process; most of them at least in attempt to hit the Umbreon.

"Umby, dodge them!" Nat called, she couldn't use an offensive attack, because the thundershock attacks were too unpredictable, and couldn't get in closer for a further attack.

Umbreon managed to dodge most of them, but did get hit on one. Though Elliot heard another crack of the ice when one of the thundershocks hit a particularly weak point in the ice. This suddenly gave Elliot an idea, as both cracks that were made appeared to be faintly shaped like a crescent moon, and the Umbreon was in the middle of it. Toni finally snapped out of its confusion. Because the random thundershock attacks stopped, they both jumped back into action.

"Okay Toni, jump and use iron tail." Elliot called.

"Umby get it with faint attack again." Nat called at the same time.

Toni's tail lit up as it headed towards the Umbreon, but it was already disarmingly fast. They met in mid air, Toni's tail met Umbreon's head as Umbreon managed to land its faint attack. This sent Toni flying back into the water again. And the Umbreon fell back down, hitting the weakest point in the ice in the crescent moon outlined area. Several cracks could be heard and Umbreon fell in as the ice broke. Toni was obviously getting very exhaustive now. Even the Umbreon appeared to have trouble staying afloat.

"Quick Toni! While it's in the water, use thundershock. Use thundershock on the water! I know you can do it!" Elliot called grateful for the opportunity.

"Umby use Last resort, hurry!" Nat said desperately.

Toni, having just gotten out of the water with its last bit of strength shot off a powerful thundershock, obviously conducting the water. The Umbreon having managed to partially get out of the water was still hit full on with the attack. It slid slightly back into the water, and grabbed desperately at the now breaking ice.

"USE LAST RESORT NOW!" Nat yelled in a fury that Elliot thought not possible.

As she called this Elliot called, "Knock it back in the water with another thundershock!"

Toni shot another thundershock in the water, conducting on to the Umbreon again, getting hit again, its paws slipped on the slippery ice clearly fatigued from the attack. Too weak and unable to get grounded (kicking the water to stay afloat), it finally fainted, and it began sliding back into the water.

"Umby is unable to battle, Toni and Elliot win!" The referee called. Elliot heard cheering in the arena, though he wasn't sure if it was for him, or people from another portion of the arenas as he was not paying attention to the crowd.

Elliot jumped in the air and headed towards Toni who was now shaking off the cold water and breathing deeply, clearly tired. "That was awesome!" He hugged Toni.

Meanwhile, Nat, returned her Pokémon to its pokeball, leaving the arena without a word, pushing past the referee and Toni.

The referee walked up to Toni. "That was a wonderful display of using the elements around you, if you will follow me, we will first go to the Pokémon centre so that Pikachu can heal a bit."

As they walked back into the tunnel, he or at least thought he did, heard quite a bit of cheering from the crowd. He smiled to himself, and put Toni on his shoulder, following the referee. As they walked the referee handed him a token.

"There's your token for winning the round." He said.

Elliot looked at it, it was silver, wit a Clefairy on it, he decided to put it in his gym badge case for safe keeping. He continued walking with the referee.

During battle 1 of round 1:

Brock, Gav and Ant were watching shelby's battle. Along with many other trainers.
The crowd were overall disappointed at how short the battle was and not suprised at shelby won with ease. The stadium was packed around the fire arena and many people struggled to see the battle between shelby and her opponent, resorting to using the tv monitors.

Bill, Chris and some other trainers were watching Mijaan's battle.
The crowd didnt notice anything special about the battle but were impressed by both trainers.

Elliot's battle had Bruno interested, along with a short old man in a black hat.
The crowd had noticed Nat was a dark trainer and were happy with elliot for eliminating her so early. However the short man seemed angry.

Stepping into the trainer box on the rock field, Nova stretched in anticipation for the match to start. His opponent was standing on the other side of the field, doing the same. The referee looked to both trainers who both nodded back at him.

"The battle between Nova and JB will now begin! Trainers send out your pokemon! Begin!", the order came, and the trainers choices were soon made known. Nova's choice was Machoke, materializing with a pump of his fist and a determined grunt. JB chose Machamp, the large fighter giving a confident grunt.

"I'm gonna let you take the first move. You'll need it against Machamp!", JB called.

"Alright, let's give our…crowd…a show! Start up with Focus Energy, then a Mega Punch!", Nova ordered, mildly disappointed in the lack of a crowd. Machoke grunted then began focusing; as energy gathered around Machoke, and then sprinted towards the larger pokemon, and brought his fist to Machamp. The opposing fighter grinned, however, as he grabbed Machoke's fist with two hands, then slamming the remaining two fists into the gut of Machoke.
"Machamp! That's the way to show 'em!", JB said with a smirk. Nova could only watch as Machoke skidded across the field, crashing through rocks of various sizes.
"Machoke, stop yourself! Then Karate Chop!", Nova yelled, slightly worried. Machoke slammed his arms onto the ground, using the friction produced to come to a stop. Propping himself up, Machoke ran towards the imposing figure that was his opponent, and brought down his arm with such strength that, when Machamp blocked the attack he slid back, and clutched his arm in pain.
"Come on Machamp, you're alright! Use a Cross Chop!", Machamp took a few seconds to recover, then went on the offensive, crossing his four arms, then slamming Machoke with the intense attack.

Machoke had been recovering from his attack on Machamp when the larger pokemon closed in with Cross Chop. Machoke was unable to do anything to block it, and he flew straight into the wall behind him. The crowd gasped at the loudness of the crash, and once Machoke had recovered, he was panting heavily, although still had the look of determination in his eyes.
"Machoke, you're doing good. Let's play a defensive game now! Counter everything he throws at you", Nova said, deciding a change of tactics was necessary if he was going to have any chance of beating JB.

Machoke nodded towards Nova, then cast his gaze to Machamp; giving a determined glare. Energy began forming around Nova's fighter as he switched to an all or nothing defense mode. JB and his fighter looked confused at this, but the opposing trainer was quick to order another attack. Machamp closed the distance between the fighters and launched a Karate Chop. Machoke batted the attack to one side, and crushed Machamp with a Mega Punch, and officially destroying the firm lead JB had over Nova.
"Machamp! Get up, that won't work at all! Go for a Mega Punch!", Machamp got up quickly, then raised his attacking fists as he ran to Machoke.

'I don't know how strong that Machamp is, but I'm not gonna disappoint Machoke. He wants to win, I can feel it!', Nova watched as the energy formed around Machoke again as his Counter went up again. The four armed opponent did something different this time around, though. Instead of attacking with just one fist, he launched a flurry of fists towards Machoke! Machoke managed to slap some of the fists away, but ultimately couldn't prevent being hit, and got slammed into the ground, causing a billowing cloud of dust to shoot up. Nova was getting caught up in the battle, and wouldn't allow some measly dust to set him back, "Machoke! Get up and send that pokemon flying with a Mega Punch! Before the dust fades please!", a few seconds went by, with no action coming from inside the dust cloud. Then; a loud cry rings out, and Machoke frees himself from the cloud and punches the enemy with all his might, causing Machamp to careen across the field with a pained expression on his face, although this proved to be just a minor setback, despite all of Machoke's efforts, Machamp still seemed to have the upper hand. The crowd murmured quietly as the superpower pokemon glared at each other.

Suddenly, in a burst of speed, Machamp sprinted to Machoke, then slammed him into a nearby rock with a Cross Chop attack! Machoke cried out in pain, and then stopped moving for a few seconds. All eyes were on Machoke. "Machoke is unable to bat--" "MACHOKE!", The judge had started declaring Machoke unable to battle, but was interrupted as Machoke let out a loud roar, and propped himself up on the rock he had been leaning on, and began glowing. Nova watched as his fighter grew two feet upwards, and the muscles began enlarging. The most significant change though, was the growth of another set of arms! As the light cleared, a Machamp stood tall and proud, staring down the opposing Machamp, eyes brimming with energy.

The crowd let out a surprised gasp, as Nova grew a smile on his face. JB and Machamp were looking like someone had just told a bad joke, and were utterly shocked; they apparently expected to win quickly. JB attempted to attack Machamp, but the command got jumbled when it reached Machamp's ears. JB's pokemon stared blankly at Nova's pokemon, then abruptly launched itself at the fighter opposite him. Nova's Machamp dodge with ease; JB's side was having difficulties coping with the surprise on Nova's end.
Nova noticed and ordered, "Machamp, throw some rocks at…uh, Machamp! Then follow after immediately with Mega Punch!", The new Machamp punched a hole in the ground, and withdrew some good sized boulders, much like he had done previously, with the exception that now he could grab twice the amount he used to be able to. Hurling four rocks at the opposing Machamp, he followed close behind, fist glowing with energy for a Mega Punch.

JB's Machamp cleared the air in front of it of rocks, although Nova's Machamp was quick to replace the rocks' space. Machamp slammed into Machamp, and Machamp went flying(Bleh, I'm getting lazy). Nova's pokemon didn't wait for orders, he already knew what Nova was going to order: A Karate Chop. Dashing forward, Machamp(N) chopped Machamp(J) with all his might, which was quite impressive now that he had evolved, and Machamp(J) came to a abrupt end, meeting the arena wall ending in a loud crash.
"Machamp! No, get up!", JB called desperately to his downed pokemon. The judge looked from one Machamp to the other, apparently still confused, then, once figuring out which Machamp belonged to who, he was quick to proclaim Nova and Machamp the winner.

Nova walked at a fast pace towards Machamp, then patted him on the back, happy with the battle entirely. JB recalled his Machamp, then proceeded to walk to Nova, and thanked him for a great battle. Nova nodded, and did the same. The judge entered the conversation, "Nova. A great battle, and here you are. A token for winning", he said courteously, and handed Nova a silver coin with a Clefairy engraving.

"Come on Machamp. Let's get off the field, we don't want to interfere with the next match", Nova said gently, then proceeded to leave the field. 'Good job Machamp…He was strong!', Nova grinned as he patted Machamp on the back again.

When my name was said, the crowd broke out in screams. A smile spread across my face as the announcer told us to head to our arenas. Mijaan and I as well as two other trainers headed to the Grass Stadium. One of them was Max my opponent and the only was this boy called Malikaii.

I settled down in one of the seats near the stadium and watched as Mij and Malikaii battled. Malikaii called out a Raticate while Mij called out King – the Nidorino that Torterra evolved during battle with.

After their battle, it was my turn to get up. Cracking my neck and knuckles quickly, I headed off to my side of the grassy field, an almost skippy feeling added to my stride.

"Good battle," I whispered to Mijaan as he passed. King was following at his side and it seemed to be quite happy it won. "King's getting stronger. Keep training him – he'll make a powerful Pokemon for your team."

Finally on my side of the field, I took Seviper's Pokeball off my belt and readied it in my hand. Little Max had positioned himself on the opposite side of the field with a Pokeball in his hand.

A smile creeped across my face and my eyes slowly narrowed. Chants of my name could be heard and I gave a quick hop and a swing of my hands.

Taking in a breath, I threw Seviper's Pokeball forward. "You're up first Seviper!" I shouted. The light was bright as it exploded from the ball. Seviper materialized and landed on the ground, swinging his poison tail around like a batter ready to hit a baseball.

He lifted his head up and shouted, "SEVIPER!" The crowd screamed happily as they realized that Seviper was a strong Pokemon and was my first choice.

"Okay," I heard Max whisper from across the field. He threw the Pokeball in his hands forward. In a flash of light, a grey-green Pokemon appeared with seeds around its neck. On its head was a bright green leaf.

A Chikorita.

"START!" I heard the announcer shout over the loud-speaker.

"Chikorita, use Razor Leaf!" Max shouted.

I smiled. He was stupid enough to make the first move. I'll make sure it would be his last!

Chikorita pulled back its head and then whipped it forward, sending razor leaves at Seviper.

"Knock them away!" I shouted to Seviper. Seviper swung his tail forward and swiftly nodded down all of the leaves. He leaned forward at Chikorita and gave a smile. I laughed.

"Wrap," I shouted. Seviper swiftly slithered across the ground.

"Vine Whip!" I heard Max say. His Chikorita quickly shot out two large vines and it wrapped around Seviper's head, lifting him up into the air. I was anticipating this: I knew that Chikorita's vines could not get far away from its body.

"Poison Tail," I shouted to Seviper. Hissing, Seviper threw its tail down into Chikorita's head.

"Chiki!" the Chikorita shouted. Its vines let go of Seviper as it stepped back achingly.

"Great," I said. "Now, Poison Bite!" Max gasped as Seviper lunged forward in a Poison Bite attack.

"Show it your Slam," Max called. Chikorita quickly recovered and lunged forward, hitting Seviper straight on.

"Sssse," Seviper hissing, cringing back from the blow.

"Use Razor Leaf," Max shouted.

The Chikorita swung its head back quickly and let it whip forward, sending razor leaves at Seviper. The attack hit Seviper straight on and he hissed, falling backwards.

I grimaced. This Chikorita was powerful. Would Seviper be able to take it?

"Use it once more!" Max shouted.

The Chikorita once more whipped its head back and forward. The leaves spun toward Seviper and it hit him right in the middle of the head.

"Siiii!" Seviper screamed.

"Seviper!" I shouted. "Are you alright?" My snake turned to me and achingly nodded. I wasn't expecting for a Chikorita to do so much damage!

"Wrap it then," I told Seviper.

Seviper turned back to the battle field and lunged at Chikorita. As it wrapped its body around the Chikorita, I was shocked as the Chikorita squeezed its way out of Seviper's grasp.

"Slam!" Max called.

Seviper, who was still shocked was knocked back by Chikorita's Slam. He let out a painful and frustrated hiss as he flew back and hit the ground with a bang.

"Can you move Seviper?" I asked. Seviper lifted his head and nodded.

"Let's finish this!" I heard Max call. "Use Razor Leaf!"

The Chikorita lifted its head and swung it forward, sending several sharp leaves shooting towards Seviper.

"Quick, raise your tail and knock them away!" I shouted to Seviper.

Raising his tail, he smacked away the oncoming leaves.

"Poison Tail," I said to him.

As he panted, he also swung his tail out and hit Chikorita. The tiny Pokemon swerved away and landed on its stomach, panting as well.

It cringed as it got back up.

"Synthesis," Max called.

My lips pursed as the Chikorita's body began to glow bright white. Seviper let out an aching and frustrated hiss as the wounds on the Chikorita he had inflicted were healing.

I winced. "Seviper, try Wrap and Poison Bite!"

Still exhausted but having the willingness to fight, Seviper lunged forward. With the last strength in his body he wrapped around the Chikorita as its body stopped glowing. Lifting his head, he plunged his teeth down into the Chikorita's body.

"Chi!" the Pokemon cried.

The stinging hiss of venom could be heard as the Chikorita's head drooped.

"Finish it with Poison Tail," I said.

Seviper unwrapped the Chikorita and raised his tail, only to smack it down into the Chikorita's body. Dust gathered as well as shreaded pieces of grass.

When it all cleared, the Chikorita was not getting back up. Seviper stood panting over its unconscious body, cuts and bruising covering its skin.

"Jess and Seviper win!" the referee shouted.

The crowd screamed happily. I blinked, finally remembering they were there. It seemed they were all too quiet, anticipating the battle between the Grass and the Poison type.

When Max returned his Chikorita, I watched as Seviper fell to the ground, his head hitting the grassy ground hard.

"Seviper!" I cried. I ran out to my Pokemon and picked up his head and cradled it against my chest. He opened his eyes painfully and gave a smile. I returned the grin.

"You fought well and hard, buddy," I said. I took out his Pokeball and raised it. "You deserve a rest." A flash of red light shot out from the Pokeball and engulfed Seviper. When his dematerialized body was inside the Pokeball, I got to my feet. I probably overworked Seviper and I planned on not using him for the rest of the tournament.

"Great battle," I looked up to see Max with his hand outstretched. I grinned and shook his hand.

"Same," I said.

The referee finally came up and put out his hand. In it was a silver coin with a Clefairy carved into it.

I grinned and took it, holding it firmly in my hand. This was Seviper's first win in a tournament battle and I'm sure he'll be happy to know that we'll work harder to win it all.

It was time. Farran swallowed nervously as he watched the battle before him finish up on a TV monitor; a clash between two skilled Trainers, and the winning Trainer's Pokemon had even evolved, turning the tide of battle in his favor. It was intense, it was breathtaking, and it made a sliver of doubt worm its way through his mind. With such powerful Trainers in the tournament, would he even stand a chance in the first round?

No. He clenched his hands into fists hard enough that he could feel the pain course through his arms. He had a goal, a mission, and he needed the strength to reach it. Of course there would be obstacles, there would be hardships, there would be challenges; what kind of Trainer would he be if he backed down when the going got tough. No. He would endure, persevere, and overcome whatever came his way. Feeling refreshed and his mind clear from the feeling of pain, he smiled.

"Farran!" The announcer called his name from the speakers, urging him to enter the field and start the match. Taking a deep breath, he walked to the entrance of the Rock Arena, and entered.

As soon as he made it in, the sheer amount of noise hit him like a shockwave. The crowds in the stadium were cheering madly, ecstatic about the outcome of the previous match. When they saw Farran, they quieted down, as if in anticipation for the next fight.

Ahead of him he saw another Trainer enter the arena, a large, stocky man with a cane that he merrily waved around. The referee spotted him and announced, "Hiker Bob has come on to the stage as well! Now that both Trainers are here, the match can commence! Trainers! Take your positions!"

Each Trainer took their respective sides on the rocky stadium, and faced each other. "Alright," Farran muttered. "It's now or never. Come out, Cael!" In a flash, his Raticate was on the field, gnashing his teeth and ready for battle.

At the sight of the Raticate, the Hiker gave a hearty laugh. "Hahaha! That looks like a quite fine Pokemon. But can you handle this?" He threw a Pokeball out into the air, and in a dazzle of light, a huge, snakelike Pokemon that looked like it was made out of the earth itself appeared, staring down at the small Cael.

"What the…!" Farran had never seen such a Pokemon before. He whipped out his Pokedex and scanned it, revealing it to be an Onix. "Holy… that's one huge Pokemon." Plus, it was a Rock type, and Cael had some trouble with one before in a previous battle. Would it be the same now?

Not exactly. Cael may have been defeated before, but he had evolved, and was considerably stronger. Farran just needed to keep calm and formulate a plan, like always.

The referee came up at the side of the arena, and raised two flags. "Remember, the rules are that this is a one-on-one match! Whoever gets knocked out first is out of the Tournament! May the second match begin!"

"Onix! Show 'em your Tackle!" With an ear-splitting roar, the enemy Onix drew its head back, preparing to smash it into Cael.

"Get ready!"

"Rat!" Cael tensed up, gnashing its teeth together. A second later, the Onix lunged, its head hurtling down at a tremendous speed.

"Dodge to the left and use Bite!" Cael crouched and leaped forward, fast as a torpedo, and getting out of the way of the Onix's attack. Its head hit nothing but the rocky floor, and Cael made a beeline to Onix's side, opening its jaws wide and chomping down hard. His teeth bit into the enemy's hard skin, but judging by the way Onix barely reacted, it didn't do much damage.

"Hah! Such an attack is nothing against Onix! Use Slam to shake it off!" With a flick of its tail, the Onix swung threw Cael off, but it landed on all fours, snarling and chittering madly. The tail came down again, intending to smash Cael flat, but he had other plans.

"Out of the way, Cael! Use your speed!" His Pokemon's movements became almost a blur; its small body was already hard enough to hit by the Onix's large and hulking body, but that coupled with its high speed and irregular movements made it almost impossible.

"Keep it up, Cael! Its hit and run, use Bite as much as you can!" Between dodges, Cael rushed up to the Onix and gave a bite, chipping off bits of the rocky skin each time. Of course, they didn't do much damage at all, but it added up. However…

"Urgh… how long is this going to take?" Cael couldn't get hit, but its attacks weren't doing much at all, even after a couple of minutes. The Onix was smashing the ground like a hammer, but it missed its mark every time. The small Cael was doing great evading attacks, but Farran knew he couldn't keep it up for long. But what else could he do?

Hiker Bob was slowly growing purple in his face; it seemed that it was all he could do not to explode with anger. "Onix! What are you doing?!" the Hiker spat. "If it keeps moving, then you just have to stop it! Screech!"

Following the command, the Onix paused and raised its head, opening its mouth wide. Out came the most awful sound Farran had ever heard in his life. He clapped his hands over his ears, but that barely muffled the sound. The crowd was groaning too, but the Hiker seemed to be unaffected. He grinned, pointing to Cael who had stopped running and had huddled to the ground, unable to move because of the harsh scream.

"That's the way! Now use Dragonbreath!" The noise stopped, but instead of noise, an orange-blue flame shot out from Onix's gaping mouth, heading straight for the stunned Cael.

"Crap, out of the way, Cael!" Farran shouted desperately, but it was too late. The flames enveloped the rat Pokemon, causing him to collapse on the ground. As the flames died away, Cael was still moving, but seemed to be restricted in movement, with sparks surrounding it.

"What? It's paralyzed?" A sense of dread swept over Farran. This was it. In a few seconds, it would be over. At least that's what he thought, until Cael struggled to its feet, its fangs clicking and its eyes gleaming with anger and determination. It seemed… much more powerful. Snapping open his Pokedex, Farran understood.

"It's his ability… if he's paralyzed, he becomes stronger!" Thanks to the ability Guts, Cael would get stronger whenever a status was inflicted upon him. Farran laughed inwardly at his previous thoughts of hopelessness. It wasn't over, not by a long shot.

The Hiker looked amazed. "That Raticate's pretty tough! But it won't last for long. Onix! Tackle it for the last time!"

The Onix lifted its head, intent on smashing Cael once and for all. Farran closed his eyes. Cael couldn't run as fast now, because of the paralysis… but that was fine. He had another idea. His eyes snapped open, and he grinned.

Onix's head came hurtling down. Cael stared up at the coming doom, resolute and unwavering. Farran liked that. "Cael… on my mark! Closer…" The attack was halfway there. "Closer…" It was mere meters away.

"Now!"

Onix crashed into the ground, sending boulders and chunks of earth flying everywhere. The dust obscured all view of the scene, and Farran didn't know if his scheme had worked or not. But as the dust settled, he knew he had the battle in his grasp.

Cael was sitting on top of Onix's head. He had jumped at the last second, avoiding the attack and now was in a position to attack the enemy without risk of much harm. He opened his fangs wide, and the air seemed to chill. Something was different.

"Is that what I think it is?" Farran had seen something similar happen in his Gym battle. He opened his Pokedex, and sure enough, his Cael was learning a new move: Ice Fang.

"Impossible!" The Hiker roared in frustration.

Farran grinned, ecstatic. "This is it! The finishing blow!"

"Ice Fang!"

Cael chomped down hard, and the Onix roared in pain… until small ice crystals began to form on its body. In a few seconds, the Onix toppled to the ground, unmoving and frozen solid. Cael hopped off its head, still in pain from paralysis and exhausted, but seemed to grin with pride.

The referee raised his flag. "Onix is unable to battle! Farran wins the match!"

The crowd roared with excitement. What had seemed to be a boring match had turned out to be an unexpected come-from-behind win. The Hiker recalled his Pokemon, and Farran did as well, promising himself to congratulate his Raticate later. For now, he walked across the cratered field to the Hiker and offered his hand. Hiker Bob grimaced at first, but smiled at last and shook it. "That was an amazing battle, boy. I underestimated your Pokemon's tenacity. That's one tough battler you have there."

Farran smiled and said that the Hiker's Onix was tough as well, but he really couldn't think clearly. All he knew was that it was his first tournament, and he had one his first match.

He had become stronger, just the way he wanted.

the only problem so far i have is with Royal

i told you to make the chikorita look powerful even though it hadnt evolved. Max is a key character in upcoming stories and his Chikorita is supposed to be very well trained.
I told you that seviper would get hurt and you wouldnt expect it.

THEN i told you to win.
you didnt listen and just tossed him aside.

for that i'm not happy.

but everyone else's battles have been spot on!! :)

Just so you know.
there were more battles to come AFTER the ones which are listed in my previous posts.

Once all the round 1 posts have been complete

you can say you saw some other trainers battling.

and then everyone gets their pokemon healed and round 2's rules will be announced.

Mij RP
As mijaan watched Jess battle, he saw a trainer walking around. He seemed to be assessing his opponents... With a growlithe at his side, he reminded him of Chris. Mij leaped over the nearby fence and stood in the path of this trainer to inexpect him further. The guy seemed slightly taller than mij and rather skinny, His hair was purple and he seemed to be dressed in a black and orange t-shirt.

Mij had previously returned king to his pokeball, but he wanted to show off one of his to the guy and he dropped out umbreon's pokeball, which flashed and left Umbreon standing there looking confused.

"Just take a look at Jess out there fighting that Chikorita with Seviper." Mij pointed, trying to look cool as the trainer walked past. "She definately doesnt stand a chance next time we meet." He said, smirking with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes to reveal that the trainer had just walked on by, paying no attention to him whatsoever.

'...Damn..' Mij was frustrated that nobody ever took him seriously.

"Me and King won round 1 Umbreon. I think it's time to show them what you can do in round 2!"

As he said this, he realised he'd gotten the trainer's attention, but he was still walking off.

'How odd...'

Mij then realised that the trainer had just been told to return his pokemon, the growlithe. Quickly, Mijaan returned umbreon so he wouldnt get introuble...

Nicky was waiting on sides watching the strong trainer Shelby fighting. He had already got ready and spent some time in the early hours of the morning talking to all of his pokemon, making sure they knew what to expect. He still had his egg in his arms, he didn't want to leave it at the Pokemon Centre just in case something happened. His nerves were getting the better of him and he felt slightly sick.
Even though he couldn't see the crowd of spectators, he could hear them all too clearly. Shelby had drawn in quite a crowd and obviously had a lot of fans.
Nicky gasped in awe as Shelby's Nidoking burst out of the ground to slam Raichu from underneath. He hoped he wouldn't have to face the huge, intimidating figure of Nidoking.

Nicky grimaced when Lola's Raichu landed on Nidoking's horn attempting a Body Slam. He shook his head trying not to imagine the pain. Suddenly electricity started to pulse through the arena from Raichu and a huge wave of electricity slammed into the Nidoking. Nicky watched Nidoking carefully as it just shook off the attack.
Nicky watched as Nidoking slammed into Raichu with its horn. Nicky grimaced again as Raichu flew across the arena and slammed into a boulder. The referee announced that Raichu was out and that Shelby had won. The crowd suddenly went wild again cheering Shelby. Nicky clapped his hands awkwardly, as he still had the egg in his arms, and watched as Shelby and Lola walked off the arena lead by the referee. Nicky watched as the referee handed Shelby a token. Shelby past Nicky and Nicky suddenly felt star struck and he started to feel embarrassed.

He shook it off quickly when the referee approached him.
"You must be Nicky!" the referee said smiling.
"Yes sir um referee sir," Nicky said stuttering.
The referee put his hand on Nicky's shoulder, "Don't worry about it you'll be fine!" The referee looked anxiously around for someone else.
"Is there a Dan here please?" the referee shouted over the roaring crowd who were chanting for the next battle. A youngish man approached from the shadows. Nicky didn't see the man standing over there and wondered how long he had been there. The man wore black jeans and a white t-shirt with an Umbreon on it. The Umbreon seemed to stand out from its white background.
"Are you Dan?" the referee asked and the young man simply nodded not saying a word. The referee then looked to Nicky and saw the egg.
"Are you able to battle okay holding that egg?" the referee asked pointing at Nicky's egg.
"Yeh I'll be fine. I just don't wanna miss anything incase it hatches or something!" Nicky said smiling looking to Dan who was kicking at the ground impatiently. Nicky approached Dan cautiously. Dan looked to Nicky and was surprised to see Nicky standing in front of him.
"I just wanted to say good luck and lets make it a battle the crowd will never forget!" Nicky said grinning.
"Oh Im sure YOU wont forget it!" Dan said chuckling to himself and smirking at Nicky.
Nicky was taken aback by this and decided to leave Dan alone. Nicky looked back at Dan who was still smirking at Nicky. Suddenly a huge booming voice came out over the PA system.
"AND NOW FOR OUR NEXT BATTLE AT THE FIRE ARENA!!!" The crowd cheered in anticipation.
"OUR NEXT BOUT IS BETWEEN THE TRAINERS NICKY AND DAN!!"
The referee walked out onto the battlefield and Nicky followed behind the referee with Dan behind Nicky. The crowd cheered and clapped as both seemed to be pretty unknown to the crowd. Nicky sighed a little at this. He was afraid that Dan would be popular and he would be booed. But he could get comfortable now. The referee stopped and told Nicky to go down one side of the arena and Dan to the other. Nicky observed the surroundings. It was warmer out here what with all the smoke and the flame torches. It was going to tough on the pokemon he chose but the pokemon could roll with it. The referee climbed up the highest boulder so he could get a better view of the battlefield. The referee looked to Dan and then to Nicky and shouted, "You may send out your pokemon now!"

Nicky unhooked his one poke ball as his others had been taken off of him for this fight. He threw the ball into the air and in a flash of light, Butterfree appeared!
"Reeeeeeee!!!" Butterfree said happily stretching its wings then fluttered around Nicky. There were gasps from the spectators as they saw Butterfree. There were suddenly many flashes from cameras as people were desperate to get a picture of a rare pink Butterfree. Nicky saw Dan raise his eyebrow and looked to someone in the crowd. Nicky looked to where Dan looked but couldn't see who it was he was looking to. The flashes stopped but Nicky could still hear people talking and pointing.
"Hey Butterfree! Remember what we talked about this morning! And don't let the crowd get to you, they're only doing it because your more beautiful than usual Butterfrees!" Nicky said smiling to Butterfree. Butterfree fluttered around Nicky happily. She seemed to bask in the attention she was getting.
"Reeeeeee!"

Dan smirked again at Nicky and threw his poke ball into the air. With a flash of light a Jynx appeared wearing what looked like some kind of dark armour. Nicky realised just who this guy was. The referee gasped and the crowd did as well. Then was a huge barrage of boos was aimed at Dan the Dark Trainer.
"This is an outrage! Someone get Brock and Bruno immediately," the referee said angrily. The Dark Trainer looked to the referee.
"And what are they gonna do? You wanna mess up this whole tournament?" Dan said snidely, "And Im sure this trainer wants to fight me!"
Nicky's top lip was trembling with anger. He knew now he might be a target what with his Butterfree.
"Your damn right I wanna fight you! I want to do my part in putting you guys away for good!!"
The crowd heard this and cheered. Then they started to chant his name. The referee looked to Nicky and nodded.
"Then I want a good clean fight from the both of you!" the referee said, "LET BATTLE COMMENCE!!"
The crowd cheered and chanted Butterfree instead of Nicky.
"Ok Butterfree this guy is a dark trainer! Lets do our best!!" Nicky said to Butterfree who suddenly got serious.
"Ok Jynx Psybeam on Butterfree!"
The Jynx immediately shot a multicoloured beam towards Butterfree.
"Dodge it Butterfree and use Stun Spore!!"
Butterfree quickly fluttered to one side and the beam shot right past it. The Butterfree quickly fluttered above Jynx and powder started to fall all over it.

The Jynx was covered but it didn't seem to have any effect. Nicky thought that it must be the armour protecting it. The armour was covering the Jynx's back so it couldn't be paralysed.
"Good try!!! Jynx use Confusion!!" Dan said chuckling.
Jynx focused its mind as its eyes turned blue. Butterfree suddenly shot across the arena and was slammed into a boulder.
"Reeeee!" Butterfree said angrily as she fluttered again towards Jynx. Nicky was trying to think of something.
"Ok Butterfree use Tackle and try to break that amour!!"
Butterfree flew even more faster as it slammed into the armour of Jynx. Even though the armour didn't seem to give way Jynx still fell back from the impact.
"Come on Jynx get up!! Its only a Butterfree!! Use Psybeam again!!"
Jynx got up and shot another Psybeam towards Butterfree. The Psybeam hit Butterfree and sent Butterfree flying across the arena again. Nicky knew the attacks weren't effective as Butterfree was a bug type but any more of those attacks was going to really going to take its toll on Butterfree anyway.
Butterfree fluttered back and waited for more orders.
"Jynx now use Dark Beam and finish this!!!"
Jynx shot a dark beam towards Butterfree.
"Butterfree dodge it!! And use Poison Powder!! Lets slowly bring it down!!"
Butterfree just about moved out of the way of the beam and Dan shouted out in annoyance. Butterfree hovered above Jynx and fluttered its wings pouring purple powder all over Jynx. The Jynx started to scratch at its body as the poison was setting in.
"Damn!! Come on Jynx! You'll have to ignore it!! Use Psybeam again!! Weaken it!! Bring it down before the poison brings you down."
Jynx stopped scratching but was getting weaker each time. It shot another Psybeam and it hit Butterfree again but higher into the air. Butterfree fell down and hit the ground. Butterfree fluttered its wings and slowly flew up. Nicky could tell that she still had a lot left in the tank.

"Butterfree use Confusion on Jynx!"
Butterfree fluttered her wings as her eyes turned blue this time. Jynx was suddenly enveloped in a psychic field and was being lifted up. The Jynx was getting worried and started to thrash around trying to break free.
Butterfree sent Jynx flying towards one of the flaming torches.Jynx knocked over the torch and the fire landed on it. The Jynx suddenly started to move quickly away from the flames as it didn't seem to like it very much. Nicky then remembered that Jynx was also an Ice type pokemon as well as a Psychic type.
"Ok Butterfree again use Confusion but try to slam it on a boulder and break that armour!!"
Butterfree was about to use Confusion again but then the Jynx automatically used Dark Beam. The beam hit Butterfree hard and sent her flying across the arena again and slammed her into a boulder.
"Are you alright Butterfree?!?!" Nicky shouted worriedly. Butterfree fluttered its wings weakly and hovered again.
"Alright Jynx!!You did something right for a change!!" Dan said congratulating Jynx. The Jynx threw its arms up the air and then quickly covered its stomach as the poison was still in effect.
"Ok Butterfree keep using Confusion and break that armour!!"
Butterfree weakly used Confusion and slammed Jynx into a boulder, while the Jynx was trying to ease the pain from poison.
"Come on Jynx!! Use Confusion on it!! And slam it into one of those flame torches!! That should finish it!!"
Jynx used Confusion and Butterfree used Confusion.

The two forces of psychic energy were invisible but the crowd could see the sparks in the air as the two forces clashed and pushed with each other. Both pokemon knew that if either one of them gave up a wave of psychic energy would crash into them sending them flying.
"Come on Jynx!!! If you cant do this you cant do anything!!!" Dan the dark trainer said. This seemed to anger Butterfree, who fluttered her wings and moved forward. Butterfree's confusion edging closer to Jynx. Then, for some reason, Jynx stopped using Confusion and Butterfree's confusion was like a wave as it raced towards Jynx and Dan. The psychic energy hit Jynx first who went flying then hit Dan who also went flying. The crowd cheered and laughed at this. The Jynx hit the ground hard and the armour finally broke.
Dan got up, cursing the crowd for laughing at him. He then saw that Jynx's armour had broke and shouted angrily. Nicky smiled, then looked to Butterfree who was incredibly tired out from using Confusion in the way that both the pokemon did.
"Butterfree are you alright?"
Butterfree weakly nodded its head as it flew slowly into the air again. Jynx was getting weaker as well. Not only did that attack weaken it but the poison was still in effect.
"Ok Butterfree!! Use Tackle on Jynx!!!"
Butterfree used what remaining energy she had and flew as fast she could for Jynx.
"Jynx use Dark Beam on Butterfree!! Make sure it hits again!!!"
Jynx got up and shot another dark beam towards Butterfree, just as Butterfree slammed into Jynx the beam hit. Butterfree was sent flying across the arena again and Jynx fell to the ground. Jynx moved weakly then stopped as it grasped at its stomach in pain as the poison weakened it so much so that Jynx had fainted.
"Jynx is down for the count!! Your winner Nicky with Butterfree!!" the referee shouted excitedly. The crowd cheered loudly and chanted both Butterfree and Nicky. Dan hit his fist on the floor in anger. Butterfree fluttered its wings a little and fainted as it fell to the ground. Nicky ran up to Butterfree and scooped her up in his arms.
"You were amazing Butterfree! Thank you!" Nicky said as he recalled Butterfree to her poke ball.
The referee ran up to Nicky.
"Congratulations! And thank you!! That was a brave thing you and your Butterfree did!!" the referee said to Nicky patting him on the shoulder. The referee gave Nicky a token with a Clefairy on it. Nicky quickly shoved it into his pocket.
"Thanks! I need to get to the Pokemon Centre!!" Nicky said with urgency.
"Oh yes! Follow me!! I'll escort you there!!" the referee said to Nicky grabbing his arm and leading him away. Nicky looked back towards Dan and he was surrounded by Brock, Bruno, Ranger Bill and Officer Jenny. Nicky smiled to himself at this, he's not going anywhere! he thought to himself.
The crowd clapped and cheered as Nicky exited the battlefield. Nicky waved at them and quickly followed the referee to the Pokemon Centre

(ooc: let me know if I need to change the end part. I wasnt sure if Dan was going to be captured or runs away)

She almost left, but watched the next battle. She had to admit that she was pretty impressed by the Butterfree. It's a different color than other Butterfree, Shelby noted. Once the Butterfree had won, Shelby turned and walked out of the arena. She knew that Nidoking hadn't really taken much damage from Raichu, but she also knew that it couldn't hurt to heal him up. She already knew what Pokémon she was going to use in the next round, so while she waited she decided to plan and relax a bit.

After Nurse Joy healed her Pokémon, Shelby began to head back to the arena. She called Eevee out and Eevee hopped up onto her shoulder. Her tail curled around Shelby's neck. Some people were looking at her funny as she walked by. Shelby blinked and thought, what did I do? A boy paused in stroking a black doglike Pokémon to look at the pair. Shelby brought out her Pokedex, identifying the dog as a Poochyena. Suddenly she bumped into someone.

"Ah, sorry du—" When Shelby looked up, she grinned suddenly. "Hunter!" Shelby exclaimed, noting the Larvitar at his feet.

"Hey! I was watching your match. That was a good battle," Hunter said. He stuffed his hands into his pockets.

"Thanks a lot. So did you enter the tournament?" she questioned.

Hunter smiled slightly but shook his head. "Nah, that stuff really isn't my thing. I mean I battle quite a bit, but I don't think we're quite ready for a tournament like this just yet." Then a grin broke out on his face. "Oh and guess what? Metapod evolved! I was battling this little bug catcher guy, and suddenly poof!" Hunter made a wide gesture with his hands. "Metapod glowed and became a Butterfree."

"That's sweet," Shelby commented as they walked up into the stands. "What about Totodile?"

Hunter frowned, "Nah, no dice there. I guess it's just a matter of time though…"

Shelby nodded and they drifted off into silence. Shelby saw someone with an Umbreon, and noticed that it was Mijaan. Hunter blinked curiously as she jogged over. Suddenly Mijaan called Umbreon back, looking over at a boy who had just gotten in trouble for having his Growlithe out.

"Hey Mijaan!" Shelby called. Hunter followed her quietly.

(OOC: Probably pointless, but I thought I'd make it look like she's not just frozen by the arena XD)

We have a new entry into the RP

He will be starting out straight into the tournament and will shortly be posting his first battle.

His name is BrianGabriel and he'll be playing the character Gaz.

Two of his 3 pokemon are Staryu and Growlithe. He'll soon be posting his sign up here, and then posting his first battle in the tournament.
He is from johto and has arrived in kanto in time for the tournament. He has 1 gym badge that he received from a gym leader in Johto.

After getting his Pokémon healed at the Pokémon centre, Elliot walked back to the competitor area. He decided not to let out his Pokémon for fear of being disqualified, as the guards were about everywhere. He went back to the competitor's area and decided to look at the 2nd listing of the round one people. He recalled the name of the guy on the bus, and looked to see if Farran was entered in the contest too.

Elliot found Farran's name scheduled for the rock stadium and decided to head that way and watch it. Finally both trainers came out, and no sooner had they let out their Pokemon, the other trainer with his Onix and Farran with his Raticate.

Elliot nearly fell back in his seat, he remembered from school that a normal type was generally not that good against a rock type, and was indeed sad for the fact that Farran would be knocked out of the competition so early.

Thus the battle began, the Raticate's speed appeared to be the biggest help and Elliot cheered at all the misses. It wasn't until he realized that Raticate was now paralyzed did he groan.

Suddenly after Onix lunged at Raticate, Elliot saw Raticate clamp down on Onix. Thinking this was no different from any normal type bite, Elliot figured it wouldn't do much. However he was amazed when Onix roared in pain. Elliot felt a small chill then realized what it must have been.

"That has to be ice fang." He thought.

No sooner had that occurred that Onix was unable to battle. Farran had won. Realizing this, Elliot got up on his feet and cheered as loud as he could. He watched as both trainers left the arena, and decided he would go congratulate him in person. However, it seemed the crowd had other ideas. When Elliot got up to go to the exit, the queue of people seemed to be rather slow, and indeed going in the opposite direction he had intended.

Finally outside of the arena, he decided to go back in to the competitor's area.

Sitting by the entrance to the water battle field, Gaz stroked his chin, waiting for his battle. His opponents name is Samuel and didn't look like much of a battler in his profile picture shown in the stadium. Gaz looked up at the plasma screen in the lounge, sitting on a luxurious green sofa he crossed his left leg over his right knee, looking very relaxed. The nineteen year old noticed that the previous battle was over, with the battle area being prepared for Gaz's first round battle. Gaz looked up, seeing trainers enter the lounge talking about their first round victories, he smirked and looked away.

Through the speakers in the lounge, the announcer started speaking to the crowd. Gaz knew this was his que, stepping up off the sofa he walked over to the water field entrance. A few trainers in the lounge got a good look at him before looking away and turning their attentions to his upcoming battle. Gaz wasn't fussed by this, he had prepared himself for this battle. Studying his opponent vigerously on his laptop in the morning. This was a tournament Gaz couldn't afford to lose.

Round One
Samuel Vs. Gaz

The time was now, Gaz walked through a dark tunnel with light shimmering through from the end. As he grew closer to the light, the cheers got louder, the echoes of the beating sounds beated harder and the visualisation got clearer. The tunnel grew lighter with Gaz reaching the end of it, the stadium wasn't the largest around. But the atmosphere was incredible, Gaz took a good look at the crowd cheering not for him, but for the upcoming battle. The smell of the water reached Gaz's nose, where he turned his attention to. Staring at the battle field, a large pool of water and ice stood before him, with boulders of ice and various ice platforms being surounded by the water.

The cheers of the crowd turned away from Gaz to the other opponent, Samuel who walked through the tunnel, admiring the atmosphere himself. In an aqua blue shirt and white shorts, he was prepared for the hot weather from the beaming sun. Much younger than Gaz, looking very much like a beggining trainer. With short blonde hair and a small round face, he definatly looked more like a newbie trainer than a competitive battler.

A man in a dark black suit in designer sunglasses stepped from one of the various entrances, waving at the crowd ahead of him. Following him was the match referee who headed straight to the battle field. The suited man started to speak to the crowd through the microphone in his hand, his voice echoed through out the stadium reaching everyones ears.

"Are you ready for Samuel and Gaz!?" The crowd responded to his question with a massive cheer, every word he said was returned with a louder reaction. "Well lets get it under way!" The man yelled through the microphone again. The match referee was then given the all clear from the announcer who then left the battle area waving off to the crowd. The referee looked to both of the trainers and pointed his flag to Gaz.

"Ready?" He asked Gaz with authority, who nodded in return. The referee said the same to Samuel, who also nodded. The referee then held both flags by his sides and pointed them ahead of him towards the water battle arena. "Begin!" The ref announced where the crowd responded in a huge cheer. Samuel sent out his Pokémon, jumping into the air as he threw the Pokéball towards the water. With a beaming white flash of light, his Pokémon appeared on one of the ice platforms. The purple shell then jumped into the water infront of his trainer with its dark face within the shell becoming much clearer to Gaz's eye.

Gaz knew what Pokémon he would choose, predicting that Samuel would choose Shellder, he selected his Pokémons Pokéball unclipping it off his belt, Gaz's then enlarged the ball by pressing the white button in the centre. Gaz then threw the ball into the air with his Pokémon appearing into the sky, a brown starlike Pokémon span through the air and into the water.

Samuel wasted no time in this battle and immidietly ordered his Pokémon. The shell Pokémon sent spears of ice towards Gaz's Pokémon with emmense speed. "Staryu dive into the water!" Gaz yelled out to his Pokémon which quickly dived into the clear water just before the ice spears came by.

Gaz watched his Staryu spin in the water. "Staryu come out and use Rapid Spin!" He yelled in direction of his Staryu who then picked up it's speed in the direction of the Shellder, spinning up towards the Shellder in the water, smashing against the Shellder in the direction of the ice boulder. Samuel watched his Shellder smash into the ice despite calling out for it to use protect against the attack.

"Shellder use withdraw." Samuel ordered his Pokémon worringly as he crossed his arms. Gaz saw this as an opportunity and ordered his Staryu to use Water Gun. The starfish Pokémon sent a burst of water spiralling through the pool towards Shellder, with it being withdrawn it couldn't see the water coming towards it. The shell Pokémon wasn't hurt initially by the water gun attack and stood it's ground, with it's defense being much stronger but it did take a little damage.

Samuel was confused on why Gaz used an attack that isn't very effective against his Shellder, but never the less gave his Shellder it's next order. "Use Tackle Shellder!" Samuel grew anxious, un-crossing his arms and clenching his fists. Gaz reacted quickly and took a few steps to his left, ordering his Staryu to dodge and use harden. The Staryu span to the right in the water attempting to dodge the attack but was clipped and span out of control into the ice on the surface of the water. Gaz clenched his teeth seeing this, with Samuel already making his next move.

"Shellder use Tackle again and finish this!" He yelled out, Staryu got himself in a good position for an attack by this time and awaited Gaz's order. Which wasn't coming. The Shellder grew closer with Staryu inches away from the Shellder.

"Staryu use Rapid Spin away from the Shellder." Gaz quickly bursted out to his Pokémon, with his Pokémon quickly reacting and doing so, avoiding the Shellder and coming round behind it. "Now get him!" Gaz shouted out again with the Shellder confused on where his opponent is, it stood helpless. The starfish Pokémon used Rapid Spin once again, spinning into the shell Pokémon and knocking it up and above the surface. The crowd, were fully involved in this battle, seeing the Shellder fly up above the water and back onto the ice surface. The referee took a good look at the Shellder.

"Shellder is unable to battle. Gaz and Staryu win!" The ref announced raising his left flag into the air, the official indication of Gaz's victory. The Staryu span into the air and onto the ice surface, sort of celebrating. Gaz held it's Pokéball and a red beam came out towards the Pokémon, sending it back into the ball.

Being gratious in defeat, Samuel walked towards Gaz and shook his hand. "Great battle, I learned a lot." the young trainer said to his counterpart. Gaz looked down at him and put his Pokéball onto his belt.

"I made a lot of mistakes in this battle, excuse me. I have to assess my poor performance." Gaz replied, walking towards the referee, collecting his token and shaking his hand. As he began to walk to the lounge, the ref stopped him and had a few words.

"Lighten up a bit, it's a friendly tournament." The ref spoke out to Gaz. Who smirked politely and nodded with a smile, walking outside of the battle area followed by a huge cheer from the crowd.

Entering the trainers lounge Gaz went straight to the same sofa he sat before, crossing his legs, folding his arms and paying his attention to the television above, where various pundits discuss the matches so far. Some of the trainers in the lounge did the same, listening to the pundits view on the match between Lola and Shelby.

"So what was your view on the match between Shelby and Lola?" The presenter asked the two pundits sitting on the other side of the spiral sofa.

"Well Raichu was clearly very powerful, but there wasn't much creativity in it's attacks. Lola wanted the match over quickly and relied on the electricity attacks to overcome Nidoking, which was clearly a mistake." One of the pundits replied, in a white shirt with worn blue jeans on, folding his arms. The very formal presenter nodded and looked towards the other pundit, who was quickly on board to give his opinion.

"I agree with my colleague here, that Nidoking and it's trainer looked very confident and seemed to know what Lola was aiming to do. I can see Shelby going to the latter stages of this tournament, although there are many strong trainers that I have seen today." Gaz started to get a bit bored of the pundits and decided to go for a walk.

While walking outside of the stadium with his Growlithe, Gaz started to think about some of the various trainers that won today, calculating his strategies if he came across them. Without noticing, a trainer with long dark hair and quite short leaped over a fence with an Umbreon by his side. Walking passed him, he heard a sort of a grunting noise "Damn.." but carried on walking. But was halted by Officer Jenny, asking him to return his Growlithe and head into the trainers lounge.

Mij turned his attention as he heard shelby call out his name.
"Hey shelby. I heard you won!" Mij smiled as he nodded up towards the scoreboards. He then noticed a unfamiliar person following shelby some distance behind. "Who's that guy?"

"This is hunter!" She had a happy expression on her face and looked back at her new friend. "Hunter this is Mijaan."

The two guys met and shook hands. "Nice to meet you Mijaan." Hunter smiled.

"Hunter eh? I havent seen your name registered on the tournament listings, Are you not a trainer?" Mij smiled and rubbed the back of his head.

"Oh no, I am.. it's just..." He seemed to be uneasy on the subject, so Shelby butted in.

"Hey look, Jess just won her battle!" She called out and pushed between the two of them to get a closer look at the grassy arena as Seviper defeated it's opponent, standing tall Seviper was embraced by the crowd in a massive uplifting roar of excitement, it seemed happy to perform for the crowd.

Mij was looking up at the scoreboard. "I heard they'd be announcing our opponents up there. I wonder how long it is until then.." He stepped back and looked at shelby. "I need to heal King. I may need his help again in the next round!"

"Oh?" Shelby cocked her head aside. "Well, I know there are some more battles to go this round. You have plenty of time."

Just then, Mij noticed his old rival chris enter the grass stadium.

"What..." Mij pointed over and his two companions looked over to see Chris and Arkie stood facing a Venusaur and it's trainer.

Mij climbed and sat on the fence so he could get a better look.

"PETALPOWER USE FRENZY PLANT!" Screamed the female trainer. Petalpower obviously reffered to her might venusaur, who smashed its feet into the ground, launching massive roots from the ground and into Arkie from underneath him. Arkie shot into the air yelping.

"That grass attack..." Shelby watched on. "...so effective, even against fire types.."

They watched on as Arkie, the growlithe, Persisted to dodge oncoming Vines and razor leaf attacks. This went on for quite some time and vensaur was looking to win this match. Eventually, Arkie leapt into the air and shot plenty of embers at it's foe, who was struck. Then, out of no where, vensaur struck Arkie with a quick-fire Solarbeam attack.

"...It had been storing it's energy all this time!" Hunter said as he saw the grass powerhouse smash it's foe aside. Arkie climbed to it's feet and growled viciously, On chris's command it shot in quickly at vensaur and bit it with a fire fang. Then leaping back to avoid Venusaur's bodyslam, It shot a flamethrower attack at it's foe's face! "But that growlithe is strong!"

"You can do it Chris!" Mij called out, grabbing his rival's attention. Chris just smirked and clicked his fingers, looking very confident. The growlithe leapt into the air and shot down an insanely powerful Fire Blast at it's foe and knocked it out cold in one blast.

Chris had been the victor of his battle and wasnt looking too bothered by the strength of his foe. He seemed to wander off after collecting his winners token.

"Well that was intense.." Shelby looked on at mij, who seemed to be puzzled.

"Chris is far stronger than he lets on." Hunter said as the replay was being played on the monitors. "That growlithe is strong. I wonder what else he has up his sleeves."

"Shelby, I'm gonna go get King healed. There should only be a few more battles until the next round." Mij said as he began to run off towards the pokemon center. Shelby and Hunter waved as he ran off into the distance.

He met with nurse joy who quickly healed his Nidorino and his team were ready for the next round.

As he stepped outside again, he saw a massive monitor with announcement from Bruno.

"Ladies and gentlemen. The second round will soon begin. Trainers, please meet Ranger Bill in the trainers lounge. He will be registering your pokemon for the second round.
The second round will consist of a double battle. Out of your three registered pokemon, you must select Two pokemon each, fighting side by side against your opponents pokemon. The first to eliminate both your opponents pokemon will win!"

The crowd went wild. A double battle was an exciting thought.

"All trainers will find their opponent listed on the viewing screens in the trainer's lounge. As shortly the match-ups will be announced on every screen in the the stadium."

The crowd began to cheer again, as a few key replays were shown. Mij turned and ran into the trainer's lounge where he saw the growlithe trainer from earlier on, Ranger Bill was sat with some entry forms. Mij looked up at a viewing screen to see some second round battle announcements:

He headed over to Bill and took his sign up sheet. It had pictures of his three Registered pokemon, Umbreon, King and Seadra. Mij took a pen and ticked two boxes along side his selected pokemon. His double battle team had been selected, now it was time to head outside and ready himself...

The fans were going crazy as replays were shown of certain matches. A video of a sceptile beating a slowbro was played.

Gaz watched the announcements on the screen, his facial expression was un-changed, seeing his name appear next to 'Nova'. He and Nova would be battling on the Rock Field, not an area that Gaz hoped to battle. He folded his arms, taking his hands out of his pockets and continued to watch the announcement. Trainers continued to watch the announcement, before individually walking away to think over their battle and get some rest. Gaz however, still stood still, motionless as he continued to watch the screen.

"So you're on the rock field before me?" A young trainer asked Gaz retorically. Gaz turned his head to see the trainer and nodded, still with his arms folded. "Chris is the name." The trainer announced to Gaz.

"Name's Gaz." Gaz replied, giving Chris his full attention. "Maybe I'll see you in the latter stages." Gaz then walked from Chris and the screen towards the Nurse Joy heading towards the trainers area. "I need my Staryu in tip top condition, it had a rough battle." The Nurse Joy looked towards the Pokéball held by Gaz, kindly taking it with both hands.

"Your Staryu will be safe with me. If you haven't registered your Pokémon yet, please do so." The Nurse joy then walked towards the other trainers, who also needed their Pokémon healed. Gaz took Nurse Joy's advise and headed to the registration desk, where he saw a friendly bald registrator in a grey suit, sitting behind the desk.

"Are you registering your Pokémon for the next round young man?" The registrator asked Gaz cheerfully. Gaz suddenly looked serious and replied, "Yes Sir."

"Well then, please show me your winners token and choose your two Pokémon for round two into the touch-screen computer, to your right." The man asked, grabbing his stamp to his side. Gaz showed him the winners token, where it was stamped by the man and passed back to him. Gaz looked to the screen to his right, and slided it across to be infront of him. Gaz's details emerged on the screen as the registrator typed into his computer.

Gaz looked at his three registered Pokémon for the tournament, and made up his mind. Using the touch-screen pen, he selected his two Pokémon, looking confident doing so. The two images of the Pokémon grew larger until the screen only showed them images and large lettering that that appeared.

Are these the Pokémon you wish to register?

Underneath there was a 'Yes' and 'No'. Gaz selected yes and the registration was complete. "Good luck young man." Gaz nodded to the registrator and walked on. "Next." Gaz heard as he walked away to the exit doors of the stadium. Thinking to himself, Gaz thought he'd get some rest for his battle with Nova tommorow afternoon.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT:
If you do not have your battle up within 24 hours for Round 1 only, you will be forced to lose your match.

(You can count this as important if you want):

Once Mijaan had left, Shelby thought about Chris's Growlithe. Chris seems like a pretty strong opponent, she recognized. Hunter poked her in the arm. She blinked and turned away from the battle and to some of the monitors people were holding in their hands. They showed the next round battlers. Shelby perked up and then dragged Hunter out of the arena and over to a giant screen behind Nurse Joy. She looked for her name. Hunter pointed near the top and Shelby looked up.

The first thing she noticed was that there was a picture of her Nidoking on the screen. It said "Fan Favorite". What does that mean? She wondered, and then read underneath the picture. Shelby grinned when she saw that she would be awarded an extra token. The second thing Shelby noticed was her opponent. Her eyes widened when she saw that she was battling Carol. Hunter looked down at her and started laughing, pointing at her. Shelby's eye twitched.

"Hah, you're gonna get smashed!" Hunter laughed.

"I seriously need to check something," Shelby said. She jogged over to one of the free computers and checked up on her opponent. Hunter peered over the top of her head. "She has a Torterra, Charizard, and Sceptile? Dang, this girl is going to be tough to beat," Shelby exclaimed. Hunter nodded in agreement. An announcement came on the TV, which Shelby turned around to watch.

"Looks like you need to go see that Bill guy," Hunter commented.

"Yup. Well, see you around! Hey, come by and watch my match!" Shelby called as she jogged back to the arena. Hunter watched her and then turned back to the computer, looking at her opponent.

Shelby waited in a small line until it was her turn. Bill smiled at her and looked at her Pokémon choices. He nodded as she told him the two she was going to use, commenting that it would be an interesting battle. He then handed her the extra token she had gotten and told her that her battle was going to be staged in the grass arena. Shelby thanked him and then decided to wait there until her battle in the grass arena began.

After the match, I walked swiftly to the Pokemon Center, hands in my pockets and mind in space. I had to capture a new Pokemon or obtain one sooner or later - but what kind? I couldn't get one today because the tournament is all day... maybe there was Pokemon you could obtain here..?

After entering the Pokemon Center, I gave Seviper's Pokeball to Nurse Joy and turned to look at the TV. Previous matches were being placed over and over again. I recognized Shelby and her Nidoking, Chris with his Growlithe Arkie, Nova and Machamp, and last was Farran with Raticate. The other trainers I haven't seen before.

"Miss Jess," I turned back to Nurse Joy and she handed me Seviper's Pokeball. "He's all ready."

I smiled and took his Pokeball. "Thanks," I said before walking out of the Pokemon Center.

I needed to talk to my Pokemon - I wanted to see if they wanted nicknames - nicknames made it all worth wild, right? But, I saw that no one had their Pokemon out.

I winced and walked up to a security officer. "Excuse me, sir?"

"Yes?" he turned to me.

"I was wondering if I could let my Pokemon out for just ONE minute? I need to tell them something really quickly before Round Two starts." I looked at him, eyes innocent and wanting.

The security guard's mouth twitched into a few different emotions before looking around and smiling. "Just a minute then," he said.

"Thank you," I said before turning around and throwing up the four Pokeballs. In the flashes of bright light, Beedrill, Seviper, Venusaur, and Torterra appeared. "Yeah guys, I have to make this quick. Seviper and I won the first round." All my other Pokemon turned to look at Seviper with congradulated looks. "Now, what do you guys feel about nicknames?"

My Pokemon looked at me and blinked.

"Nicknames are a great part of a friendship, right?"

My Pokemon couldn't help but nod and smile.

I smiled back. "So, you guys want nicknames?"

They agreed with nods and repeats of their names.

"Alright! Beedrill, you'll be Victor as for 'Victory'. Seviper, you'll be Fang as in 'Poison Fang'. Venusaur, you'll be 'Brakken' because of your strength and willingness. Torterra, you'll be Landscape for your mass shell-like continent." My Pokemon smiled at their new names.

"Okay then, return guys." I held up their Pokeballs and returned their forms and turned back to the security guard. "Thank you," I whispered and he nodded, walking off.

I turned and walked down the long stalls. I wanted to look around a bit before the second round began. Finally, I saw a stall that caught my attention.

POKEMON FOR TOKENS

I sprinted up to the stall and saw a man sitting in a chair behind the stall. He had a basket of Pokeballs in his belt and symbols as well as letters were painted onto them.

"Oh, hello miss," he said warmly. He took out three Pokeballs. "May I interest you in any Pokemon today?"

"Uh, what Pokemon do you have?" I asked.

"Many," he answered. "I have Eevees, Bulbasaurs, Charmanders, Squirtles, Chikoritas, Totodiles, Cyndaquils, Treekos, Torchics, and Mudkips. Are you interested in any?"

"Could I see... a Totodile?" I asked.

"Yessum," he said with a nod. He placed the three Pokeballs back in and fished out a Pokeball with a water symbol and a T on top. "This is the only one we have right now but more are being shipped as we speak." He clicked the button on the Pokeball and the bottom shot open, the bright white light shooting out and onto the front of the stall. When it cleared, the cutest Totodile I have ever seen stood on the top of the stall.

"To?" it asked with a tilt of its head.

"This one," the staff man started. "is a baby Female. She is yours for 6 Tokens."

I winced and placed a hand on the Totodile's head. "You know what? Could you keep her for me? I'll be coming back in a little bit with six Tokens. I'm a contestant here."

The man nodded. "I can surely keep her here waiting for you," he said with a smile.

I smiled back. "Thank you."

"ALL CONTESTANTS REPORT TO THE MOUNT MOON DOME!" shouted the announcer.

"Oh dang!" I said outloud. "I need to go!"

"To!" the baby Totodile threw its arms around my waist and started to whimper.

I patted it on its head. "Don't worry little girl, I'll come back for you. I give you my word."

The Totodile backed up, smiled, and nodded. I smiled and turned around, running to the dorm.
