Introduction
Hello there! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! This world is full of mystery, wonderous creatures, and a darkness often ignored by the blissfully ignorant trainers that travel the planet. To most people, the worst things to happen are a few Gyarados destroying lakes or the one or two times the entire planet may have nearly been destroyed by a few crazed lunatics. Other than these rare events, the world of Pokémon is a peaceful and carefree place, right?
Unfortunately, that's not the case. Every day Pokémarts are robbed, people's homes are broken into, and the occasional Pokécenter is burned down. More people are being beaten and killed each day by gangs as police forces gradually care less and less about the chaos surrounding them. Gym leaders are practically the only true defenders of justice left as cops are constantly bribed to look the other way or even lend a helping hand when laws are broken. With all this madness it's becoming clear to some that the world is darker than it seems.

Story
After the second fall of Team Rocket at the Goldenrod Radio Station, a splinter group retreated to their base in the Sevii Islands, renaming themselves Team Deus. Here, under the leadership of Darrius Argo, they began research on the possibility of transferring Pokémon DNA into humans. Dubbed Project Zenith, the goal of this research was to enable humans to wield powers known only to Pokémon. Argo hoped that by harnessing this power within the human form, his now crumbled organization would rise to power once again.
The experiments started with the injection of Caterpie DNA into Rattata. After months of trial and error the first successful Bug-Type Rattata had been created. Pleased with the results, Argo chose to skip further Pokémon testing and jump right into human experimentation. Given that humans don't naturally have the capabilities of containing elemental power his initial volunteers failed to exhibit any sign of being able to use abilities. Deus scientists theorized that exposing humans to harsher elements related to their new DNA sequences may unlock their true potential, thus resulting in a series of violent experimentation. Wave one of volunteers was subjected to excruciating torture, related to their typing, including high voltage electrotherapy, becoming engulfed in flames, drowned, and even being buried alive. None of the initial volunteers for the experiment survived testing. In response, Argo ordered his underlings to retrieve "volunteers" from mainland Kanto to provide a constant flow of test subjects without losing his own people. Men, women, and children alike have been kidnapped from all over the Kanto region for scientific study. As expected, all of the test subjects met a fatal end as trial after trial resulted in failure to survive the lethal experiments.
Now, five years after their retreat to the Sevii Islands, Team Deus has finally succeeded in forming proper DNA combinations that could enable their test subjects to survive testing, thus creating what Argo has named, for lack of a better term, "Hybrids". Human mentally, emotionally, and in physical appearance, but with Pokémon DNA coursing through their veins, enabling them to use the elemental powers they have been "gifted" with. Five years of failure. Five years of countless Pokémon and Human casualties. Five years of never-ending research has finally led to this moment.
Now, as the latest batch of test subjects step out of their cells for Team Deus to examine, will the young hybrids submit to further testing or use their newly acquired powers to escape the darkness that has held them captive?

Rules
1: All Pokécommunity rules apply (duh)
2: No God Modding
3: As this is rated 'M' swearing is allowed, but not every other word needs to be four letters. (Words like "platitudinous" are much fancier)
4: Romance is allowed, but nothing more than kissing. (Just because this is technically a family website does not mean we need to be making families.)
4.5: Please, for the love of Arceus, no shipping wars. This isn't the fricken bachelor or trigonometry, we don't need awkward love triangles all over the damn place! While romance is acceptable it is not the main focus of this role play. (I may just be venting with this one but my point still stands)
5: Players can engage in combat with each other. (With consent of course)
5.5: This also means no killing another player-character without their permission
6: Mayonnaise is not an instrument. Percussive or otherwise.
*Feel free to ask any questions about anything I may not have been clear on or just forgot to mention.

Misc. Notes
Spoiler:
- It may be possible for your character to obtain a third typing as the story progresses, including the Ghost type.
- To obtain the Ghost type your character has to die and be brought back to life though.
- Your character may also gain a second Ability as the story progresses as well as gain additional moves, with a maximum of 8 attacks per hybrid.
-Your character's moves don't necessarily have to be the same type as their hybrid typing, however the moves should still make sense. For instance, a fire/poison hybrid would logically be capable of using smokescreen, however it wouldn't make sense for that hybrid to have thunderbolt in their move set.
- While characters can wield weapons to use their attacks, do note that players will not have weapons on hand at the start.

Helix Ball: A special ball used by all Team Deus grunts that also houses the Hybrids' starter Pokémon. The ball has blue on the top half, red on the bottom half, and a red and black double helix design etched into the top. The band and button are the same colors as a standard ball. Not much else is currently known about these strange poké balls, although the Pokémon found inside tend to have attacks never before seen within their species. Invented by Dr. Temero.
Judgment Stick: A special baton that emits a special type-based energy. The baton houses fragments of type-enhancing gems and with the push of a button on the weapons handle, releases a specific type of energy. This enables the wielder to strike his/her opponent with whatever type of attack they choose, allowing them to deal super effective damage to all Hybrids or Pokémon. Above the button is a glowing image that depicts the current type of energy being released. Unfortunately for the wielder, this specific model of the Judgment Stick chooses types in a cycle, so if the wielder wants a specific type they would have to press the button repeatedly until the type they want appears. Some Deus grunts spend hours trying to select the right type because they keep skipping over the type they wanted to attack with. Below the type selection button is a simple on/off button, for storage or for beating a victim without the use of elemental power. Invented by Dr. Temero.
Thunder Gloves: A special pair of prototype gloves designed to enabled a normal (a.k.a. non-Hybrid) human to use Thunder Punch. The initial plan was to enable the user to use all electric-type attacks, however they proved too unstable and thus only properly function as overpowered boxing gloves. They have small lightning rods attached to each fingertip to draw power from surrounding electricity and to prevent the user from being harmed by electricity as well. Though relatively unstable and hazardous to use, they are a favored weapon for Lt. Surge as they seem to give off the same voltage as a Zapdos' Thundershock. Invented by Dr. Temero.

My Own "Meh" SU
Spoiler:
Name: Hunter Reeves
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance: Hunter stands at 5'11 with short reddish-brown hair and violet colored eyes, a rare trait seemingly unique to his mother's side of the family. He's not quite muscular but is still fairly toned from martial arts training. Hunter is light skinned and can usually be seen wearing his favorite pair of black and red canvas pants, stylized like the legs of a mega blaziken, and red or orange sleeveless t-shirts with various pokémon designs on them.
Personality: Hunter loves fighting, both with Pokémon and hand to hand combat. He is a self-taught karateka, due to being unable to travel to Saffron and practice the art of karate under proper instructors. A wannabe hero, Hunter often finds himself stepping into risky situations as he feels the need to save the day whenever trouble arises. Loyalty may be his strongest characteristic, much to his detriment. Hunter also has interests in paleontology, archaeology, and mythology.
Background: Growing up in a stereotypical nuclear family in Pewter City, Hunter had a fairly easy life as a child. While most kids take a Pokemon and travel the world at age 10, Hunter opted to stay in Pewter as his little sister Claire was born, feeling that as the older brother it was his job to protect her. Spending hours in front of a screen watching karate instructional videos on PokéTube, Hunter trained himself in the martial arts in hopes of being able to train in a real dojo someday. As he got older, Hunter eventually got a job at the Pewter City Museum. It was here that his life went downhill. One day as he was wiping down an Aerodactyl display case, Hunter spotted Claire and her class on the museum's front lawn during a field trip and decided to drop in and say hello. Hunter stepped outside just in time to catch a glimpse of two men in black drag Claire off as the rest of her group was distracted. Hunter chased them to an alley where two more men came from behind, grabbing his arms and dropping him to his knees. One moment he saw his younger sister getting kidnapped, the next moment he found himself being thrown into a mysterious room with nothing but a large window and a grate in the floor.
Hybrid Typing: Fire/Rock
Hybrid Ability: Flame Body
Hybrid Moveset: Fire Punch, Blaze Kick, Rock Throw, Rock Polish
Attack execution: Fists/Legs from the knee down catch fire before striking when using Fire Punch/Blaze Kick respectively. For Rock Throw, he curls his fingers as if he were holding a baseball and forms a stone to throw, or he'll just save a few seconds and pick a rock off the ground and throw it instead. When Hunter uses Rock Polish he closes his eyes and focuses on his internal energy as his body glows white for a couple seconds.
Starter Pokemon: Slugma
