Back in its time, I used to be a big Dragonball Z fan and I sorta still am today. I found it interesting when I came onto this.

I knew there was going to be a live movie, but just HOW are they going to do the hair?

Oh man, I am so taking my friend to see this. She hates DBZ. xD

But anyway, my brother and I heard the rumors about the movie quite a long time ago, and we've been really excited ever since. It's nice to finally see some progress being made, although I'm like you--I can't imagine how they'd actually make the hair look realistic. It'd have to be CGI or something in order to survive all of the fights!

If they can pull the hair off, then... I don't think anyone should have the right to complain about anything else, heh. I just hope that these versions of the characters are true to their originals, because it'd be too weird seeing Goku acting stoic and silent all of the time, like some movie heroes are.

Agreed, I've only heard rumors but apparently the movie is too be based on the Saiyan and Freeza (Planet Namek) saga, anyone have any ideas?

Also I can totally see Jake Lloyd (Young Anakin Skywalker) playing Gohan.

I too have heard little about a live-action Dragonball Z movie. And back then, it was just an idea. But now seeing that this is actually being implemented, I can only imagine. Though, I'm really clueless on the selected actors taking up the role as a DBZ character.

Yes, even I have had my thoughts about the hair as well.

From what I've read, two guys have been casted so far, which is James Marsters for Piccolo and Justin Chatwin for Gohan. Not entirely sure of the credibility though. They did do a live action movie in the past, but I read that it was horrible.

I think that they probly could pull it off but the hair will be hard but ssj wont

I love DBZ but dragon ball is way better lol

    kid Goku is so funni

I won't miss it, it'll be the best comedy movie of the year.
But... what could you possibly find funny about a bunch of beefed-up men with unnaturally huge hair flying around and beating the snap out of each other? I just don't see the humor there. xP

One of the things that my friend and I were joking about is how they're going to make Justin Chatwin look half as muscular as Gohan did when he was like, 11. The guy's cute and has the whole "nice guy" look that he'd need to play Goku, but doesn't appear nearly as huge and intimidating as I've always pictured the DBZ guys to be. On top of that, I've never seen him in a role where he wasn't acting serious most of the time, so I wonder how he'll be able to pull everything off if these characters do stay true to their originals?

I won't continue judging him on that until I actually see the movie, though. James Marsters is someone who I could actually see as Piccolo... he's definitely got the manly cheekbones. xDD Just add green skin, pointy ears, a turban, cape and bam! Instant Namekian for ya right there.

Me and my cousin were talking about this and he said they already mess it up. They have the blone guy from Bluffy, the Vampirme slayer James Marsters for Piccolo and some guy who doesn't even look like Goku. Second he said the main villaian is going to be Piccolo.

I think you are right about Justin Chatwin being Goku, and Hero is right about Piccolo being the villain cause on tv I saw that it said they already casted one hero and one villain, and since those are the only two people mentioned the villain must be Piccolo. They're gonna be shooting in Mexico too for 85% of the movie from what I saw as well.

It was mere sarcasm, Kayleigh. I expect the film to be horrid-- hilariously ridiculous, as it seems.
Um... I was being sarcastic, too. XD; I know that a movie like this wouldn't interest you. Half of the reason why my friend and I are also going to see it is to get a good laugh, and chances are, we won't be disappointed.

Anyway, I wonder if Goku will transform into a Super Saiyan in this film? Unless they're already planning to make a sequel or something... then they might save it for later. I don't mind that Piccolo will most likely be the villian, since he was bad at the beginning of the series, but it would be cool to see someone like Broly in the movie. :D

Oh yes I've hoped for the same thing, a Broly movie, but finding a human that muscular to stay true to the character would be pretty crazy. Theres always those wrestler's? Ha

I wouldn't mind if it was Piccolo being the main villian, but than we'd be calling it the Dragonball Movie (The "Z" is that important! Ha I kid). Unless they come up with a completley different storyline for this movie and not base it off of any actual DB/DBZ events. Buu has the main villian would be something I'd like more.

Oh... XD; I guess I'm just as bad as everyone else when it comes to identify sarcasm here. Hehe, but you're right-- judging by Piccolo's looks, I guess we won't.
