While this is a great idea (actually, the best all year IMHO), I feel that there's room for suggestions. I have some:

-Dump all the chit-chat threads in there (Pokemon, Anime, etc). It just seems suitable.
-Disable postcount if you haven't already, since postcount has always been a big problem with DCC.
-Allow it to be more of a casual chatting area. I don't mean spam, just allow threads like 'what are you listening to/watching?' in there. Kinda like a median between OC and Funtime. That is, if you disable postcount.
-If you take the above idea, maybe merge the birthday forum into DCCF?

    Thanks for listening! :)

I have a suggestion! Why don't you guys capitalize the "f" in Forum?

Threads like WAYLT that wouldn't go in OC, or anywhere else for that matter, is what I mean. o_o

Move the Webmaster Lounge out of there! >O

If it's there, the Webmasters are much less likely to see it, and will thusly kill it.

I'm seriously upset about the Webbies Lounge being in there, not to mention the other "topic-ed" lounges that are all going to become spamfests. Add to the fact that the moderator of the particular topic's forum can't even mod their own discussions... >>

You should make DCCF a self-mod forum; people can close their own threads and delete posts in them. o.o; Or maybe give all mods power over it, or something.

But the lounges aren't what I had in mind, no.

Yeah, I am glad Webbies Lounge is out of there... It had no real purpose in there and woulda killed the joint...

However, with a exclusive forum Chit Chat forum sounds very vague which could result in numerous threads about *nothing*

Thanks for moving it back out of there Jake~

And self-mod = horrid. You'd most likely end up with people deleting their own threads, which would really get people angry.

    Not deleting, just closing.

Blaze: I don't see how it's any more vague than a DCC thread o_O It's just giving people more freedom, not to mention making OC less spammy.

Well chit chat means you can talk about anything

    Example:

Thread Name: OMgosh I joust jonined!

Text Includes: ihai evry1 i jst joned and lke i wnt sum frieends lolosl

^ type of thread would be more common

There's a rules thread in there. It specifically says 'No spam'. Pay attention plz ;\

Well since when can n00bs read >___> they won't care, they will just post than play dumb and be like omg im sowee ^_^

Eh, true. Be thankful they probably don't know how to find a subforum =\ I didn't when I first joined.

I guess I misread that, sorry. *rolls eyes*

I'm personally against DCC anything... but whatever. The new forum is kinda weird, and what goes in there is somewhat vague...

XD we can only hope, but knowing them they will get there by using New Posts :3

However this seems like a T Dome approach

...I don't see the comparison. Sexdome was about sexual threads; this is a forum for DCC threads and possibly lighthearted chatting. o_o

Okay, guys, you're kinda floating off-topic here, and quit with the n00b bashing.
Wait, this isn't my forum. XD

First off, many thanks to Jake for getting the lounges outta there.
Secondly, I really don't care too much for the DCC forum idea, but my ideal situation would be locking the DCC anyway. >>
I at least think there should be really strict rules enforcement though, i.e. one-strike system.

We aren't bashing or getting off topic, we are merely thinking of concepts for DCCF which could help out the new forum o_o

And I ment by a T Dome approach, by having someone be *banned* from the forum if they cannot stop from SPAMMING (i.e Had to be approved to even see T Dome)

    Neither is occuring here. o_O

I sense prejudice. Do you have a reason for that?

Ohh. People are just over-cautious with this idea; don't worry, they'll get used to it.

More or less what we're doing, but people don't need to be approved. They'll just be banned from the area if they have enough warnings.
