    As Mess.be reported a few minutes ago, a version of the upcoming Windows Live Messenger release 8.5 has been leaked.
    The new version will feature a whole new interface, that integrates it better into Windows Vista, but also keeps the "Live" touch of the other applications.

    Umm... Wow! It looks pretty. Is there any information about release date?
     
    Oh yay, another bloated IM client.
     
    It doesn't look bad. I'll probably stick to my current version for awhile though.

    Anyone know if 8.5 will be compatible with the current version of MSN Messenger PLUS?
     
    I'm not really bothered about how it looks, as long as it works better than 8.1. I keep having problems at the moment where either people's messages to me get bounced or mine to them get bounced.
     
    XD I totally didn't notice the display pic thing.

    From Googling it seems that a lot of people have been getting the message-bouncing problem :( But there's no solution.
     
    Is it a client or server problem? Messages haven't been bouncing with AMSN for me. *cough*SubtlyadvertisingAMSN*cough*
     
    I installed LM on a machine, saw the ads, sent it packing as GAIM provides no ads and a clean modern interface. I would include Trillian, but the new Astra has ads even in the paid version. Don't get me started on AIM to...
     
    I'm guessing it's a client problem. I had no problems with the old version of MSNM before I upgraded to WLM.

    Somehow I never quite got into aMSN/GAIM/Trillian, though.

    I don't like Messenger Plus - I installed it once, a long time ago, and my computer was hacked straight away. Don't know if it was Plus that did it, but since then I've avoided it. XD;

    Everything has pros and cons. MSN is allright, gets boring sometimes

    Did you install the sponsor program? If you did, that does something to your PC... I installed it the first time round and it opened a door to viruses, spyware etc.
     
    It's long enough ago that I don't remember, but I can't see myself having installed a sponsor program even back then.
     
    Erm... well, it looks okay, but I prefer the current one - I don't like it when things like this go for the less plain look. =/
