Devamped version?

I was on DeviantART looking at fan made devamped version and it got me thinking - What if there is an added feature where you can play your Pokemon in a devamped way?

We older generation 1 fans feels so nostalgic whenever we see the old artworks, though probably, the con is they'll have to draw every single new Pokemon old style, but if it was a new game, would you buy?

With 8-bit music and the works? Heck yeah I'd buy, as long as it's not like an insane amount of money. And I don't think devamped sprites would take too much effort for a whole team of people, especially if dA is casually doing them.

Alternatively they could do something like you said, similar to the GB Sounds item in HGSS, except with the whole game.

Hmm, since this is more of a topic that relates to the video games (well, a potential one at least), I'm going to move this over to Pokemon Gaming Central for you.

As for myself, I loved being able to use the GB Sounds in HeartGold, but I'm not sure if I'd want to battle with old sprites and visuals. Though if they were limiting themselves to just battles, I could see something like this as a possibility for the future, but there's no way I could see them recreating entire cities and routes just for nostalgia purposes. Still, I think enough old school fans might get a kick out of the old-style battles to make it worth including at some point down the line.
