Did you ever have problems taking out Dragons before gen6?

I just over trained do any poke on game I play so I beat them by power, i tend to make sure I have ice beam on my squad if possible

Used to always find Lance pretty tough when I was younger! I remember always trying to get a Pokemon that can learn an ice move to counter him, or just beating him with status tactics and similar methods, they usually require a bit of luck though.

yeah, ice was great before the addition of fairy and i generally had no issues! but I understand having to rely on ice moves only was a bit limiting, so it makes sense that fairy exists now.

I would give Ice Beam to my water type since they usually are bulky and can take a hit first.

It seemed hard to find an ice type until you were late into the game in most of the older generations.
