Disconnection is SO annoying in Free Battle.

    Hello everyone.

I am trying to get 100 Free Battle wins. But I can't seem to get it because when I battle, annoying Trainers get all Butt hurt that they could not win and disconnect their 3DS instead of forfeiting. I just finished playing a japanese trainer with 2 Legendaries (Kyogre and Xerneas) and 1 Mega Evolving Blaziken. I used Illumise, Mega Evolving Charizard and my Protean Greninja. His/her Pokemon were REALLY strong, but I needed one more turn to win. Then guess what happens, DISCONNECT!!!!!!!

They really need to learn to grow up and forfeit the matches if they think they are not winning instead of the coward's way of turning off your Wifi/Turning off your DS. And the part that upsets me is that IT DOES NOT COUNT AS A WIN FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!! Why? Why did Game Freak program the free matches like this? It is so stupid.

Why the ♥♥♥♥ were you using an Illumise?

Illumise kills off everyone's "setting up". Dragon Dance, Geomancy, Agility, and other moves are deemed worthless in front of Illumise. I also use it to spam Confision and Rain Dance

Can you provide me with your Illumise's set? I've got a soft spot for the lil' cutie and have always wanted to see if I can make one usable, or at the least, a good supporter for a team. I don't care so much if it's outclassed or not, god forbid my Raticate and Abra suffer from this but still blast holes when no one expects them to.

My Illumise is built this way:

    -Thunder Wave
    -Flatter/Swagger/Confuse Ray
    -Rain Dance
    -Encore
(Covet also works for removing annoying items)

    -EV:
    200HP
    152Def
    152SpD

-Item: Focus Band (or no item if you choose to covet)

Ability: Prankster (All listed abilities will go first regardless of speed. Pokemon that uses speed boosting moves will hate you.)

Tactic: I send my Illumise first, and paralyze opponent before they have the chance to attack or set up. If the opponent sets up, use Encore to disable attacks to give you a chance to switch and KO opponent Pokemon. If Illumise gets hit, Focus Band will allow a second move to be used. Rain Dance allows Thunder/Hurricane to never miss. Also boost water moves by 50%. Great way to assist your other Pokemon. Be careful, cause Rain Dance can boost your Opponent as well. Never forget the Power of Confusion. Paralysis and Confusion reduces the chance you opponent attacks by 75%. If Illumise does not get KO and gets switched, rinse and repeat for the next opposing Pokemon.

    Checks and counters:
Taunt naturally. Luckily, Prankster is Priority. Watch out for Magic Bounce. We also cannot forget about Gale Wings.

If you use thundurus you also get to use thunder after rain dance, which is like godly

I'm pretty sure if an opponent disconnects against you it qualifies as a win on your part, actually.

...Although that might just be Rating Battles.

Interesting set, I may just have to try out one similar to yours. Thanks for giving me the advice.

I'm pretty aware of that already.

People have had different experiences, actually. Some got the win, but mostly they don't.

I'm pretty aware of that already.
I assume you're going to play online battles through the 3DS anyway so knock yourself out.

Happened again! It was a long tough battle, and my opponent had the upper hand. But I still bested him in fair combat and came up victorious. But what happens? As I was delivering the final blow, watched my opponent's HP go down, and watch it faint, my opposing trainer pulled the plug on the Wi-fi. Although I know that I bested him/her. I know that I won. I know that I should be happy that my opponent rage quit because I came up top when I was at the disadvantage. But at the end of the day, he denied me my win. I got no point in my profile. I got no battle video to collect as my trophy. And ONLY I know that I beat him. Without proof of victory, my win was meaningless.

    *Added Point*

Imagine that if I was plaing in the world cup. My team was winning 10 - 1, and we were about to be named the victor in 10 seconds. But the opposing team blew up the stadium to avoid the loss. This is how I feel. I trained day and night to surpass cheap trainers, and this is what I get.

I actually have a 5IV Prankster Sableye, and I don't really like it. The ability to recover is nice, but Willowisp is not very reliable, and I want to use thunder wave (100% accuracy) to slow my opponent down. Willowisp won't do my any good against Mega Gengar or Mega Blaziken, but Thunder Wave can.

I believe that they boosted Will-o-Wisp's accuracy a bit this gen, and burns cripple most physical attackers. So it's still a good move. But all the status effects have their important uses.

It did, Will-o-wisp accuracy increased from 75% to 85%. This is still too low, because anyone knows that when it counts, any move not 100% fails. Will-o-wisp also does not work on Fire type Pokemon (hence not working on Mega Blaziken). If I used my sableye, I would use an item to boost accuracy. Which means that now I am removing the item slot so I can use Willowisp. Now my opponent's Pokemon are still fast, plus the attack drop will not work with special attack users.

    *Example*

Xerneas with Power Herb + Geomancy will not have much effect from Will-o-wisp. Sure, you can taunt it, but that opponent will know better, and just moon blast the heck out of you out of spite on the first turn (just to get rid of Sableye).

Yes, I'm aware that Will-o-Wisp's accuracy still isn't perfect, and that it doesn't work on Fire types, and that special attackers don't give a crap about it.

But all of the main status effect moves have their issues: Thunder Wave doesn't effect Electric or Ground types, and some Pokemon don't care about a Speed drop. Steel types and Poison types are immune to Toxic, and Breloom/Gliscor/Guts Conkeldurr would like you to poision them. Grass types are unaffected by Spore, there's Sleep Clause, and Spore doesn't have a great distribution.

It just seemed to be like you thought Will-o-Wisp was worthless when it's not, and I just wanted to comment on that is all.

    Someone just DCed out of a rated battle. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Why the hell would anyone pull the plug on a rated battle. I win anyway. Rage quit won't lower or unaffect my score. I was a hair close to winning that battle, but OOPS!!My Opponent just happens to disconnect.

Once again, I shouldn't care too much, but I am still denied my battle video. I learn the best out of battle videos by dissecting the opponent's Pokemon and their items. Why deny me that? Isn't that my reward for battling hard and fairly in rated combat?

Even tough they changed the rules to discourage Rage Quits, either people don't notice or they are children.

it is called "rage" quit - logic is meaningless to them
