IMO, if you can wait, wait. The chances of a Z/XY2/whatever being announced next spring are pretty large. If that/those games are essentially a remake of XY, Platinum style, then skip XY and play that instead. If we on the other hand get sequels, that means you get the opportunity to play both games in back to back as one complete package. :P

There are many great other games on the 3DS. LoZ: A Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem: Awakening and Bravely Default being strong recommendations. And if you're itching to play Pokémon there's always ORAS this november.


You could also disregard all this and buy X or Y anyway. The games are fine if you're not nitpicky like me, and it's possibly the most fun early game (pre-second badge) I've had in a Pokémon game.

I'd half recommend Saya no Uta because it really did have a neat concept and some haunting music. Shame it wasn't a novel and/or written by somebody that isn't a hack.
