I have two major issues.
- Bad software optimisation.
The games are littered with loading times (most notably before wild encounters). Even when loaded, it's a lagfest. We get FPS drops even with the 3D turned off in fights, mostly when more than one Pokémon are shown in detail at the same time. And not optimising the overworld for stereoscopic 3D was a major blunder. This is bound to change as the devs get more experienced with the 3DS, though it's been implied that the overworld will stay "flat" in ORAS. The upcoming games appear to have fixed some loading issues based on footage but there are still visible lag spikes in the gameplay trailers.
- There's practically no postgame.
Aside from the Maison, looker quests and friend safari there's nothing to really do after beating the game. No post-game routes, or dungeons (the legendaries are literally just sitting in small, empty, easily accessible rooms waiting for you to come catch them). No Elite Four upgrades, no gym leader rematches. It's a shame really, because B2W2, which came right before XY, had great post-game content. Assuming ORAS reintroduces a lot of features from Emerald, this might be fixed however. And the remakes have been remarkably good at adding content so far.
I also hope they fix some model and animation issues with certain Pokémon. But that should be a given.
