whats the point of having Nuzzle if there's Thunder Wave?
Is...is that a joke?

D: also,is it worth getting X and Y? If i ever get another 3ds soon,I'd like to know from the people here.
Yep. Best game since GSC in terms of gameplay. Lots of innovation and changes too. Story's eh and the music's more atmospheric, riding on the BW train (in other words, not as earwormy as Gen 4 backwards), but it's orchestrated, so there's that. But that should hardly be a problem with ORAS, and the idea of an orchestrated RSE OST is HNNNNG worthy, but from what I've heard, I'm currently undecided.

Also, Laptrap, thanks for Daimidaler. My dorm is getting one hell of a kick out of it, and it works as great shock material since a lot of them are "what is anime". It's a pretty fun show, too.

Anime = Manga > Light Novels > Visual Novels

Light Novels would likely be equal to the other two if there was a) regular decent translations b) More variety in those picked for translation and c) they didn't leave me feeling like I should have spent my time reading a real book. Point b is rather frustrating as there have been quite a few interesting looking ones left untranslated because people want 20 volumes of school life garbage. I think you're probably watching the wrong anime if you think light novels are really that much better in the depth department.....or maybe I've just been reading the wrong light novels.

As for visual novels, I just don't like the format, the 'vn style' aesthetic, sex scenes being thrown in seemingly for the hell of it, the hassle that some of them take to set up, the fact that entire action scenes consist of a few crudely drawn frames (some will say I'm missing the point here I'm sure), repetitive music also characters are very often cookie cutter. You could say that about all entertainment in general but during a VN you can spend hours and hours interacting with these during mundane events like going shopping or eating lunch. Clannad was pretty awful in that respect but I went into it liking a lot of the characters from the anime, that probably saved me there. If used well I bet this format could produce something amazing, not seen it yet though.

I just handwaved it. Back when he made Girlchan in Paradise, I thought he was pretty anime savvy, mainly because, at the time, I thought he was parodying 90s dubbed anime.

...But the more I watch of GG, the more I realize that that might actually be his view of anime as it is. So yeah, certainly not the savviest.

Point A can't really be helped since the translators have to wade through Japanese/Chinese/Korean grammar nuances and are taking a lot more time to convey them than simple speech bubbles or dialogue translations. Point B is a result of personal preferences by translators. It requires motivated people to do it and usually such people are into "popular" genres and getting more people to translate is usually hindered by Point A. Point C is well...up to a person. I like reading books and adjust my standards accordingly to the limitations of light novels in terms of depth and character length.

I personally would like more variety like the mass translations of new anime that comes out or manga, but the format makes it really difficult to do so.

Visual Novels are a hit or miss for me. I'm not one to follow "routes" and prefer linear story lines. Hence why I typically go Neutral in SMT games or liked the Linearity of MuvLuv Alternative.

You got my attention with the "traps piloting giant mechs." part. :3

Skythewood is translating the first chapter lol. Same guy who does the Log Horizon translations.

A little bit of pictures from the series :)

Edit: So happy Mushoku Tensei manga is being translated :D

Uni is promising so far.

Uni is the best days. Between freedom and the chains of careerism...

See, I like mecha and traps are fine yet I wouldn't read that even of you paid me to do so.

What if it gets a manga adaptation?

Personally I just feel that its just a difference in format. Though the loss of detail is something that makes me not really agree with the perspective that one is superior over the other. Each has pros and cons.

Light novels to me establish the base of the story, Manga provides highlights to the important plot points and anime let's it all come together in a feast for the eyes.

I've got all my hopes and dreams, and I'm surrounded by a couple thousand intriguing and engaging people that are all in the same spot as I am. Will be fun.

And it'll probably kick me in the gut because high school was a walk on roses for me and now I'm a tad used to things being easy.

In other news, banked my stuff, threw all good items to a friend and reset my X game. Now I can go back to the magical time of October 11th, 2013 any time I want.

I mainly use my X version for casual battles now, it's actually pretty useful in calming me down after a long day of nursing school considering all the work I'm putting into nursing school at the moment, and all the stress I'm getting in return.
