Andy? Andy! You're dead! How did this happen? You were so young! It's all my fault! I should have seen the warning signs! I didn't even know you were smoking! It worked so fast! You had so much to live for. So much exploding to do. Oh God! Who will blow stuff up now!? I don't want to live in a world without exploding! You God, are you proud of yourself? Now that you've created a world without large explosions. Why couldn't you just take Tucker instead? He can't explode. At least I don't think he can. But even if he could it wouldn't be the same. Andy's exploding was special. Why God. Why? Oh Andy

>just looked at a baseball schedule for the first time

damn son

For which league? MLB, NPB (Japan pros), or some other league?

Baseball is an insane-looking schedule until you realize that it's comparatively undemanding in terms of endurance per game (with the exception of starting pitchers). It's playing nearly daily that really wears the players down.

This makes me want to go watch the whole series again.

MLB - Yeah, I thought as much looking at a few squads. Lots of pitchers, less infielders and then only a few outfielders. I presume there are more infielders than outfielders because those positions would require higher concentration levels for much more of the game.

418. There are also more infielders because there are 4 infield positions that are considered "infield": 1st Base, 2nd Base, Shortstop, and 3rd Base, though it's typically just the latter 3 positions that someone plays if they are considered an "infielder" rather than a specialist of a specific position.

Shortstops probably came about because right-handed hitters tend to pull the ball to the left side of the field because of how the "right-handed" batting stance works, and given the shorter time for reactions in the infield, though Wiki seems to indicate that shortstops were originally outfielders who got moved to the side of the infield hits went to when they made the ball heavier.

Catchers are technically infielders, but what they do is very specialized. There are only 3 outfield positions, and they're generally interchangeable skill sets because all require some form of athleticism.

Baseball is my summer sport, but that's partly because MLS and the WNBA are hard to follow in my city, the former not having a team and the latter not having good TV coverage.
