Oh, Courage to tell a lie. Found out about that song because of Osu.

BTW, guys, on that note...I've got a question for you. How do you feel about AMVs? Well, specifically, how do you feel about watching AMVs for anime you've only seen part of?

I'm not too into them myself (though I'd be damned if I didn't say that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann's Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer AMV isn't my favorite one), but I had a friend who wanted to watch Steins;Gate for that reason (after putting it on hold near the beginning).

I like all the fourth wall breaking they do, and the fact some buildings are named "Abandoned Building" or "This building was slated for demolition anyway"

And of course, the inconsistancy of the dashboard, since Coop can push the same button twice and get different results every time

The "Five minutes left until end of episode" button was my favorite as was "Coop pushed this exact same button not five minutes ago"

and who could forget Jamie's Joker cosplay?

Spoiler:

Calling it, 3rd Gen/ORAS takes place after XY (thanks to a new bit of info). That or during. And since 3rd gen already supposedly takes place at the same time as RBY, that means...Mega evos were chronologically one of the first developments in the series.

...Huh.

What new info would that be? :V

Blue is mentioned in XY to have lived for a while in Kalos to study. I kind of doubt that would have taken place before RGB.

Steven and his Metagross. Specifically, Metagross's evolution being used by Steven. I don't really know how, so I can't completely assert this, but save for in Origins, MegaEvo's don't just happen. It had to be brought on by something, and considering XY is the generation that has Mega Evolution-based devices be developed or even tested, it's unlikely that ORAS takes place prior to XY.

At the same time, 3rd Gen supposedly takes place at the same time as first generation. So the timeline as we know it would be XY -> ORAS/RBY -> GSC- just based on this, not the others. But considering that bit about Blue/Green, it would have to be RBY -> GSC -> XY -> ORAS. I mean, if Blue/Green lived in Kalos for a while, I doubt it took place during the two year gap between RBY and GSC. So altogether it would have to be RBY -> GSC -> DPP -> XY -> ORAS -> B(2)/W(2) (assuming the World Tournament is canon- it's contestants, not its existence). DPP could technically take place after XY or ORAS, I'd have to look into that, though.

I suppose it's possible for them to retcon the hoenn timeline to take place some other time than established. Though considering how the official timeline was revealed relatively recently, I find it unlikely.

Instead, I wouldn't put it past GF to just let everyone throughout the timeline casually use megas now. I mean, it'd definitely make the games more fun.
And while, say, Dark and Steel types were considered new and exciting in GSC, they were just there in FrLg and no one raised an eyebrow. Pretty much same with baby Pokémon. Heck, the Sevii islands and what you can find there screw up the timeline royally. :P

373

Huh. Well, I was closish. Kinda. In way...sorta...not really. But I wouldn't be surprised, really. After all, I doubt the timeline is really priority to Gamefreak (though considering they've been putting more emphasis on story in recent iterations, I wouldn't be surprised).

But yeah. Honestly, I really like the XY engine. If they tried to cash in with another Pokemon RBY remake on the Sixth or Seventh generation engine, I wouldn't even mind. Especially if they added more postgame stuff. And if they used the writing of their modern generations to flesh out the characters more.

Also, watched most of P4GA. I'm liking what I see. They're taking liberties to make up for the pacing (which is not only smart but well done), the presentation is COMPLETELY different from the original Persona 4 anime, they pick a different type of Narukami (since, in the games, the main character is sculpted by your choices. The original was bold, quiet, and would say outrageous (and oftentimes hilarious) things from time to time. In this one, he's a lot more bold and personable, which not only makes him more badass but it also makes him a generally likable character, which adds value for those who saw the original), and it does its best to be its own thing. I'm really liking it so far.

And, of course, it has my favorite almost-tsundere, Marie.

Agreed, more remakes are always fun. They wouldn't even have to be that complicated. I'd still probably buy a RBY remake even if it wasn't much more than a graphical and technical reskin.

Huh. Wasn't interested since the original P4 the animation wasn't much to write home about, but that sounds cool.

I would miss the brotagonist's casually bizarre dialogue, though. :P

Then again, if I wanted the P4G experience I should probably just play the game.

Yeah, P4 the Animation was...eh. Even with Persona 4 being one of my favorite games, I can't really defend it. It had it's good points (and was pretty damn funny at times, but was...eh.

This one seems to be less rushed and they're doing their own thing (while still clinging to the material), and it's first episode was definitely aiming to impress. So I'm interested to see how they'll handle it.

But yeah, the games are the best way to experience P4/G. Love that game to death. It's always cheap, too.

You could get a Vita TV/Playstation TV. It's basically a Vita that you hook up to your TV. For just $150 less than an actual Vita.

Golden's on there, too. It's not as cheap as the original but it's worth it for all the additions.

Or get neither. The PS3 and Vita aren't really must-buys.

Don't see the point in using a Vita as a stationary console. :P

In addition, I'd rather play laying in bed/on the train/wherever with headphones and a small screen than in the living room with a TV. Dunno why, really. Could be a modesty thing, or just convenience. I do have fond memories of playing on the PS2 when I was younger, but nowadays the TV is basically the Netflix/HBO machine. :D
