Do You Have A Preferred Team?

I get it, most of us want to win and be able to say "hah, my team is unstoppable". But seriously, do you even like the Pokemon on your team?

Personally, whether I win or lose, I will always choose the team which best suits who I am as a person, or those I truly respect.

That said, what about the rest of you, are you a person that is so competitive, that you would rather have a team which rarely loses, or are you someone with more originality and willing to find a way to work with your team to see if they can do more than you expect?

Personally, here is the team I would ALWAYS have, and I would do my best to find a way to make their weaknesses into a strength.

    Spoiler:

Of course, moves and whatnot haven't been listed cause let's face it, we can always re-train until we find out what works best.

As far as I've tried competitive, I prefer to go with the Pokémon that I like. Obviously I want them to be effective in battle, but I wouldn't go with a Pokémon I don't really have an opinion of if the alternative is a Pokémon I really like, albeit a bit weaker. I don't know much about the current competitive scene and I struggle with giving a non-Gen III example, but currently I am EV training my Tailow to make it effective for the Battle Frontier just because it's shiny. So I prefer to make something out of the Pokémon I like, rather than go with Pokémon I don't like at all just because they're strong. Especially for battle teams, I want them all to have value.

Generally speaking, I like to pick powerful Pokemon, but if I really like a Pokemon, I'll sometimes end up using it regardless of its inferiority. A great example of this was the Sneasel I used throughout Sun and Moon, I was stuck unable to evolve it and tbh during the E4 it was kind of deadweight but it's one of my favourite Pokemon so I stuck with it and made it as powerful as I could.

I never stick with the same team- I always try to have at least 3-4 newly introduced pokemon. The remainders depend on what those pokemon are, but I do have favourites. I'll often try to get a milotic for my water pokemon if I need one.

My preferred team is one which can hit all Pokemon for super effective damage. I'll go as far as using a Machamp with Foresight or a Haxorus with Mold Breaker if I have to.

The species I use don't matter that much, but I generally avoid using Pokemon that I hate. Don't expect Watchog, Emolga, Stunfisk, or Cryogonal on my team.

I basically use the Pokémon that I like, but I still take their strength in consideration. However, even if a Pokémon is really strong, either competitively or just in-game, but I don't like it, then I absolutely won't use it! As for my taste, I usually tend to like Pokémon based on their designs or lore, as well as their type ( for example, I don't usually like rock type Pokémon).
