Do you rely on only one pokemon like some people only rely on their starters and some only rely on legendaries some lucky individuals rely only on shiny pokemon some rely on their favorite pokemon while somerely on their strongest
Me I Rely on my Rhyperior (LV 100), my Electrivire(LV100),
my Torterra(LV88), My starter Infernape(LV68), My Golduck (LV100) and My Genger(LV37)

I used to simply rely on one high levelled Pokemon that I'd trained, but as I've gotten older, I've learned to try and balance my team out to give other trainers no chance. It works so well.

yeah but some people rely on pokemon that has an accurate attack like my Electrivire's Thunderpunch and Rhyperior's Thunderbolt

I used to up to the early advanced days of ruby and sapphire. But then I realized how efficient a balanced team is and the game became more fun because I could develop a new team every run through, changing my experience per game.

In my first game, I didn't know how to switch Pokemon, so my starter became my most used and most powerful.

Heh. From when I started playing, until I was done with the Advance era, I relied only on my starter, and then some legendaries. But since I started playing Pearl, (or at least after I lost my game after I caught the legends) I decided to go to a more general team... Though it wasn't successful, like, at all, I actually managed to switch my Empoleon as a main to my Shinx, which is now a Luxray, currently Lvl 70. As my Empoleon is starting to bite the dust... It's basically crap.

I used to for a while, until I realized that other Pokemon were on my team, other Pokemon I liked.

I train 5 Pokemon at a time, though I keep an HM slave on me at all times. I'll just overtrain one, and then deposit it for the next leg of the journey. (By then, it'll be the most overlevelled of my non-starter Pokemon, and the deposited Pokemon will be underlevelled and in need of training.) That way, six Pokemon are always at a high level for the Elite Four.

Now that I'm just starting my game, I'm relying on my Machop and (sometimes) Chimchar (soon to be Monferno) until I can level up each of my pokemon.

I did for until all the weakness' were against me, i had to start using other pokemon afterwards..

I used to rely on only my starter, and my legendary (Dialga and Empoleon) in Diamond. That got really predictable though, so in PLatinum, I have a team of five strong pokemon (Empoleon, Gardevior, Giratina, Regigigas, Shaymin) and changed the last to the pokemon to be trained. I wish I had some more non-Legendaries.

Starter then my Mascot legendary and after the E4. Pikachu w/ Volt tackle is a must. :]

For a really long time that's what I did. I'd have a bunch of freshly caught at Victory Road pokemon and then a hugely over leveled starter. I was able to do that for a really long time, but gave up on that when I got Pearl...and then in emerald I just caught raquaza pre E4...and relied on it too much. Platinum and Pearl I've gotten better, though...

I usually deposit my starter and rely on the Pokemon I catch in the wild. Right now my Pearl team is Tropius, Trapinch and Girafarig. I use them all but I tend to rely on my Girafarig most often. Maybe it's just because I've never used one before and it's new and interesting for me. My Tropius gets a lot of use too since it's practically unbeatable. The only one that doesn't battle much is my Trapinch since his moveset is kind of crappy. I'm just waiting for him to evolve, hopefully he'll do a bit better in battle then.

i did on red because i didn't know what the phrases "it's super effective" and "it's not very effective" meant, but now that i know how to match up against certain types, i try to keep a balanced team.

I still find myself doing that. I overuse my Medicham because of her elemental punches.

Ha, back in the Gold days I would just train like two or three Pokemon, and that would be it. Ever since I got Diamond back, I have been able to balance out my team fairly well, but there is always that one a little bit above the others. Right now thats Dialga, considering I just caught it.(Barely I was down to my last move on Cyrus' Weavil, and I got it with Close Combat, I used the Master Ball to capture it.)

    No, not really.
I do rely on certain pokemon to take certain places, like revenge killing and supporting, but no one member is trusted with everything.

No, I try to keep all my pokemon around the same level, and I switch them in battles depending on the type of pokemon I'm fighting against. I don't just use one.

In Pokemon Blue, I played like, a million playthroughs with nothing but a blastoise...Until I was able to duplicate rare candies via Missingno...8D

Yeah, now I always use a team of varied pokemon and I never and I do mean never, ever use my starter. Starters live inside the box.
