Does anyone implement HM's into their teams?

I have a slave for the worthless moves like Cut, Rock Smash, etc. But I integrate the better ones like Fly, Surf, etc into my team, most of the time. Right now I only have Fly and Rock Climb taught to the Pokemon I actually use, because those are the only two I use on a regular basis in the areas I travel.

Fly? Better?

Fly has a base power of 70 over 2 turns, meaning 35 per turn.

It's the worst damaging HM, if anything. xP

Fly has a base power of 90 in the current generation and one of the turns is a mostly-invulnerable turn, that's really only a big issue if you have a status infiction.

Actually, it's still a worthless move, because you give the opponent a free turn to set up/heal while you can't do a thing about it.

HM Slave just sounds mean/wrong. Call me silly, but I like to treat my little pixelated Pokemon as if they were real. *cough*Toomuchoftheanime*cough*

So I implement them, though mostly I just use Fly and Surf the most.

I teach GOOD hms (Surf, Waterfall, Strength, Fly) to my main team, and I drop the rest of them on HM slaves.

I mean, who would use Rock Smash/Defog/Whirlpool on one of their main pokemon.. ?_?

^Although, it could be useful in a double battle if you set up the timing correctly. I can't think of a good example right now, but I think there are some. Also some of the weaker moves can be good for lowering a pokemon's hp to capture.

On topic: I used to always implement Hms into my game (but since I usually only had like one main battler and the others were used just when needed, aka they had the type advantage and might survive for a little while...). The only pokemon not allowed to have a Hm were my starter (I mean I did try giving it a Hm once in Emerald, but it annoyed me to no end so now I never do that) or pokemon that have a moveset I really like and planned out and would be upset if it changed (although I can't really think of a time when that happened, I often built the moves around the Hm). And I never used the move deleter because I got used to using the Hm at certain times.

Now I am using a slave except for moves like fly (kinda) and surf. I really just had never thought of the idea before, I liked having a useful team of 6 even though it almost always wound up being one or two main battlers and a legendary, because I didn't have to train them much.

^I kind of agree(at least that is how I was for a while), but my "slaves" are lucky that they get to be on my team. Many pokemon I catch are just for the dex; they get thrown into a box and are completely ignored until I happen to be looking for a junk pokemon I can trade off. IMO that is worse than being a "slave." (The name "slave" does sound mean though and I prefer something nicer like "lucky-little-pokemon-I-will-never-use").

I usually implement Surf and Fly into my teams, only because I like to keep strong Water and Flying types w/ same type attacks.

In an unrelated note, I hate the move Rock Smash. It doesn't do much damage in battle and has a limited use in the field.
