Not really needed, all the story you could get from those characters was told in those three volumes.

Nope, it's part of Sign's "Second season" even though that's only .hack//Another Story,.hack//Eternity, and unison, those are the episode titles. Another story was just the ending through Suburu's eyes, Eternity was something about Aura being made tangiable in the real world...I think O_o and you know what unison is.

i only watched like.. the first 2 volumes of //sign and like.. one of the ending episodes..
the one where you find out who sora really is in real life.. ._. and even then, i only saw like 10 minutes of it (i caught the ending at CNAnime) ._. meh..
i want to watch the whole thing...

It's six volumes I believe, and nope I don't really know that much about dot hack as I do with other anime shows^^;

Off Topic: I'm not really that much of an anime obssesor as you'd think. I've only got a few DVDs, and only around 50-60 or so manga. I just read a lot and try to watch a lot of anime. Not that hard ^^;

I think I have a Grunt...Somehwere around here O_o And nope, 60 ain't a lot. Most people I know have anywhere from 200-300 and those are usually compleate series in their collections XD
