The stages of an anime fan.

Stage 1 - See Pokemon, Dragonball, Sakura ect on tv as a kid viewing them as cartoons.
Stage 2 - See first "real" or "Good" anime like Death Note and Code Geass
Stage 3 - See actual good anime like Baccano, Beck, Aria and Monster.
Stage 4 - Watch everything in sight in the hope of finding some of the magic you found in stage 3, but ultimately failing.
Stage 4.5 - Going back and watching stage 1 stuff again just because.
