I keep saying this but the only shiny I ever caught (red Gyarados notwithstanding) was that Purple Drowsee in Gold that I thought was a messed up Ditto. ROTFL

A shiny Starly here, a shiny Tentacool there, a shiny Deerling, etc.
With the common species it's just a matter of walking in enough grass :P
