Well, if it means anything pokey, I doubt my love for Nui Harime would make me forget my hatred for K-On!

And I doubt I'd get into lolis. :p

Well, Desu is a pretty important word. It can be used in at least 70% of sentences in Japanese, depending on how they're phrased.

But yeah, pretty important, and that's why it's so strange that anime made that word novelty. It's very...normal.

wow. Wtf did i just watch

@machomuu - so what you're saying is that muh dolls made it a special word? Ironic how it is actually a reaaaaaaaly common word among japanese words, eh? I already knew that desu is one of the most common words. What I didn't know was that it was popular among western peeps and was popularized by muh dolls. Or whatever that anime's name is.

Oh, the self-proclaimed otakus of Sweden.

They're pretty nice people. Pretty loud, though. It seems they tend to forget there are other people around, sometimes.

That said though, many of my close friends could have been described as weeaboos. Even an ex of mine.
They might be on the more "normal" part of the spectrum, though.

They learn Japanese through classes, we learn from shows. Like this if you are a true otaku. ^ _ ^

I actually had a discussion about otaku and weeaboos with a guy. He was claiming that all of those who call themselves "otaku" are weeaboos (because of the meaning and severity of the word in Japan), but I don't necessarily think that that's true, especially since there's a new westernized meaning that is generally what's referred to.

Granted, most weeaboos are otaku, but I don't really think the opposite's true. People (in the West, at least) just use the word to say what they're into, and I don't really think anything's wrong with that.
