My friend who is making a 'competitive' team against his friends almost makes me want to put in the effort of EVing train and everyone else while I'm at it, so I can beat him. But that requires effort which I do not have. Doesn't help that I still don't completely understand IVs. I mean... listening to Kevin is making me convinced that it's easier to see what IVs they have, but idk.

Should I explain or should I not even bother?

So, IVs are just basically a value that determines the power of your Pokemon's stats. They range in value from 0-31. 0 being the lowest 31 being the highest. The higher the number, the higher the stat. You won't see any immediate differences at first, but the full benefit comes at level 100 (everyone uses Wi-fi's lv 100 battle feature, so blah).

For example (Assuming no EVs):
A Jigglypuff with a 0 IV in HP at level 100 will have an HP stat of 340.
A Jigglypuff with an 8 IV in HP at level 100 will have an HP stat of 348.
A Jigglypuff with a 31 IV in HP at level 100 will have an HP stat of 371.

It's pretty basic for the most part, but those small differences could mean the difference between getting the KO or getting KOed. Unlike EVs, IVs are a constant value set when the Pokemon is caught, obtained as an egg, etc. They cannot be changed. They only way to get different IVs is to breed/catch another Pokemon.

A good calculator for checking IVs (assuming you also know what EVs your Pokemon has) is Legendary Pokemon's Keep in mind that the most accurate results will only be obtained if the Pokemon is Level 100.

It's been a while. I cannot into coherent explanations.

Hmmmm... Alright. So with the higher level Pokemon you go to the stat calculator and see around with IVs it gets, while with ones that you hatch you go onto Wifi to figure out? Seeing you found out the IVs of Thundurus and resetted. I think I get it~ This will definitely help me time to steal my brother's game over and over again after I start breeding for the Wifi.

I'm so behind on Fairy Tail idek. I haven't bothered even trying to catch up on any manga other than Detective Conan. Hell, I haven't even bothered rereading the Tales of Symphonia manga.

I didn't even look at the stats since the nature was already crap, but yeah. Should be easy enough with all the new toys the calculator got since I last checked (Stats Judge, Hidden Power Type, Characteristic, etc.).

ALSO, LINOONE SQUAD PICKED UP 4 LEFTOVERS SINCE I STARTED. NO SERIOUSLY, THIS IS AWESOME.

Augh. People, tell me before answering the phone before I lose posts!

Anyways, I'll definitely give it a try. Maybe test it on my Cobalion, though thinking of it's nature I don't think I'll be using it in battle (not fond of using Legends anyways). He'll still be a nice test subject though, since he's a decent level and I haven't touched him. If there a person like in HGSS who tells you it's potential in B/W though? I haven't found it.

Haha, I know~ But sadly I can't think of any other reply to chapter of Fairy Tail without asking for potential spoilers. :[

I've giving the bar a chance before disabling it. Not like I totally didn't realize that it was back in the first place.
