All right, so where was I? ...Yes!

When it all comes down to it, like pianos or violins, Chiptunes and Vocaloids are all instruments in the end; a tool used to aid in the process of songwriting. It's not the instruments themselves, but how you use them.

For example, these two videos focus solely on Vocaloid/Chiptune respectively.

Now, when we use chiptunes or vocaloids as instruments that are part of the whole (as opposed to LOOK A VOCALOID SONG or LOOK A PURE 8 BIT REMIX):

You can end up with some really amazing tracks. It depends on the artist of the song and how they used their tools; not what the instruments are.


tl;dr: It's the musician who sucks, not the instrument.

I was just saying the concept of running notes/a human voice through an autotune filter can't make something sound better unless extensive measures is taken. And that kind of applies for anything that just isn't good. :U
