But there are so many more good shows! I haven't even scratched the surface of all the supposedly good shows out there.

And... I don't want to give myself to Touhou again.

After way too much research, I just found out that my monitor doesn't benefit from anything higher than ~480p.

Meh.

14. Good stuff comes out of the woodwork every now and then. I had a string of good watches recently, including Welcome to the NHK!, Gunbuster, Tatami Galaxy, and Kimi ni Todoke. Macross Frontier was a bit of a false alarm, though. :V

I used to have a CRT once upon a time. It had 1280x1024 at the most and was able to benefit somewhat from 720p encodes. And it was a freaking CRT. :V

Just want to say that This season's Level E is probably the "pretentious hipster" anime of the season. Being noitaminA and whatnot. :V

Anyways... I'm probably wrong, because I know next to nothing about monitors and resolutions, but...

Mine's a... *Double-checks* 1440x900. VGA, I think...?

Yeah, according to Wiki, that sucks. XD

Yes, I really should care about quality more. However...

*Shrug* Time for another round of statements pulled out my arse to justify my ignorance:

1. You can't miss what you never had. Plain and simple. All my anime-watching has been on the computer, so I'm limited by the hardware. I watch HDTV, but... No anime. I have reasons.

2. Lack of income. I don't work, and I'm a bum. I like that life.

3. I've watched 4-5 shows that are recent, mainly because I only get around to... 3-4 series' a year. Because I get distracted easily. So, I've only finished about 8 shows so far. I've dropped at least as much.

Yeah, I know, I know... -_-

4. Vision problems. My eyes are screwed in such a way that I don't get to enjoy some of the nice, fancy effects they have nowadays. Well, that's mainly 3D (No depth perception), but...

5. Earphones. Once again, quality is limited by finance.

And, for the most part:

6. I'm happy with what I have now, and I see no reason to go to great lengths to fix it. If I get a nicer monitor one day, that'll be great. I'm not changing anything now.

Only because you keep justifying yourself and giving me more reasons to shoot down your arguments. Seriously, people normally don't give me this much info to refute.

Also, 1440x900? That's plenty nice! It's certainly not 1080p, but you should be able to benefit from 720p encodes.

Because I'm caught in a vicious cycle where I honestly do want to learn, but years of... other people in general... have taught me that there are few people in the world who can teach with smugness. *Sigh*

Like I said, I really don't know much about this, and I've never thought to check it against anything. :D
